VIT Vellore MCA Eligibility & Highlights 2026

VIT University offers a full-time MCA via its School of Information Technology & Engineering (SITE). The duration of the programme is two years. The Deemed University, every year, conducts Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) to offer admission to the MCA programme. VITMEE is a computer-based test that is held offline at several centres across the country. Final admission is subject to a personal interview (PI) round of the shortlisted candidates.

VIT Vellore MCA Admission 2026: How to Apply?

Below mentioned are the important highlights regarding the VIT Vellore counselling process for MCA admission:

All the required documents are to be shown in original for verification and a set of photocopies will be collected for the candidate
A mandatory sum of INR 1 lakh as an advance fee is to be submitted by the candidate as a demand draft in the favour of 'Vellore Institute of Technology’, payable at Vellore. If the candidate withdraws their admission the processing fees of INR 11,800 will be deducted from the advance fee
Applicants without the DD for the said amount will not be permitted to attend the counselling
Allotment of seat and campus for a programme once made is final and will not be changed under any circumstance

VIT Vellore MCA Application Process

Vellore Institute of Technology has released VITMEE application form at www.admissions.vit.ac.in/pgapplication. The step-by-step process to fill VITMEE application form for MCA admission at VIT Vellore is listed below:

Step 1: Follow the link: www.admissions.vit.ac.in/pgapplication to directly land on the official application portal of VITMEE.

Step 2: Register by addressing all the registration details as shown in the below snip:

Step 3: Log in with the registration details to activate the VITMEE applicant account.

Step 4: Fill out the remaining application form by addressing guardian details, address of communication, academic qualifications, etc. An application number will be generated that has to be saved for future references.

Step 5: Pay an application fee of INR 1,200 for General candidates via Netbanking/ Credit/ Debit card/ Paytm.

Step 6: Upload scanned photograph and signature along with other documents as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities. Click on final submission once done.

Truth/Reality of MCA VIT Vellore.

Placements: For my course MCA students become eligible for job and internship 2nd year onwards. Total 40 companies come but only 13-14 companies genuinely turned up for online assessment and interview; the rest of them either preferred M.Tech students or did not turn up. The highest package offered by PhonePe was 34 lacs/year and the lowest was 4 lacs/year from Prayuha Private Limited. Internship stipend range started from 15,000 Rs/month.

Infrastructure: You need to walk a long distance on campus itself as vehicles are not allowed on campus. The worst thing about PDA is that guys and girls cannot talk on campus. There is a fine for not wearing an ID card, breaking silly rules, and roaming late at night on campus. The new architecture building is too hot to survive. The best things are the library, classroom, Wi-Fi, and WLAN for laptops. The hostel is 2 km from the campus, with a total of 26 hostels. Hostel security is very tight; you cannot have fun. Hostel fees are 1.5 to 1.7 lacs, which is expensive for us middle-class students, but the food quality is good. Local PGs are available but are 20-25 minutes away from college.

Faculty: Since there are a high number of faculty members, they are great at sorting out hurdles, and we are glad that they are our mentors. I do not know about their exact qualifications, but knowledge-wise they are a treasure. In the course, I practiced a lot of programming and faced many challenges, then shifted and aced DBMS, networking, and many core subjects. In exams, there are two CAT exams and one FAT exam (Final Assessment Test). CAT exams are internal, held every 1.5 months, while FAT exams occur at the end of the semester only once.

Other: I addressed almost all issues in my review. Overall, the college is good in terms of fests, extracurricular activities, and the crowd from all over India. VIT fest is amazing, and many Instagram reels go viral every year.

Placements: VIT has taught me and shaped me into who I am today. It was possible through the right platforms like placement cells, magazines, and so many more. Our college witnessed record-breaking placements in my course, with 95% of students getting placed in big companies like Infosys, TCS, etc.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is remarkable. From modern classrooms to fully furnished and high-tech labs, the college provides every facility that supports academic growth. The college also focuses on the all-round development of students by providing adequate sports and other activities.

Faculty: A huge thanks to the gurus and mentors for their support and guidance. Their encouragement and faith in me led me to face challenges head-on. Their teaching always brought clarity to concepts. College exams were easy to pass because of their exceptional teaching.

Review of Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.

Placements: Placements are good as compared to other private colleges. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc. Our college provides many opportunities to students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Classrooms are huge. Laboratory is fully air-conditioned with good facilities. Our campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Hostel facilities are good. Sports are available. There are around 16 blocks for boys, and 8 blocks for girls. Overall the hostel is good.

Faculty: Faculty members are good and well-qualified. They are very helpful whenever we need them. Our course curriculum is very well designed to meet the industry's needs. There is an FFCS system that makes students choose their teachers, slots, and venue.

Our college infrastructure is good.

Placements: In our college, almost 50% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 16 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA and the average salary package offered is 7 LPA to 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Nokia and Gemini Solutions are visiting our campus. The top role is offered in web development.

Infrastructure: In hostels, they provide Wi-Fi but not in classrooms. Wi-Fi is available in the library. Mess food is not good. Labs and library are very good. We can issue five books at a time. The hostel is good.

Faculty: Some teachers are very good and knowledgeable. Most teachers are only qualified but not knowledgeable. Some teachers are helpful. Semester exams are not too difficult and the pass percentage depends on the class average because of relative marking.

The college has decent placements, and the faculty members are strict.

Placements: You have to pay approximately Rs 6,000 for placements. You will get to apply for around 100 companies. You need to have a good CGPA of more than 8 CGPA and a minimum of 60% in all the subjects to attend placements. Students are eligible for placements from the third semester. Last year, the highest package offered is above 28 LPA. Almost every year, the average package is around 7 LPA.

Infrastructure: The library is very big, and every book related to our course is available in the library. The classrooms are pretty spacious and have all the basic facilities. In hostels, room services are available for cleaning and maintenance. 24x7 electricity, cold and hot water are available. AC rooms are available if you want. In the mess, you get 4 meals, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Non-veg and veg food items are available at different places.

Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified. 80% of the faculty members are south Indians, and the rest are mostly from the north. Some faculty members are very strict sometimes, so you have to be very careful. Overall, they are good. At the start of the year, dates are decided for exams, and it is followed strictly.

Placements: 100% placement provided to students. the highest package is 28 lac and the lowest package is 4.5 lac Many companies came for MCA students like Amazon Microsoft etc. Coder is the main role. The average package is 8 lacs which is good. More than 60% got internships in dream companies like Google, TCS, Sony, rubric, etc.

Infrastructure: In this college, they provide smart classes for MCA. And they provide a great atmosphere and. And they give Wi-Fi and smart classes. And the labs are too good and we can do anything in this and we can become a great and better coder and the facilities are too good.

Faculty: Faculty is good. Teacher are helpful and provide a good atmosphere for studies.
