VIT Vellore MCA Eligibility & Highlights 2026
VIT University offers a full-time MCA via its School of Information Technology & Engineering (SITE). The duration of the programme is two years. The Deemed University, every year, conducts Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) to offer admission to the MCA programme. VITMEE is a computer-based test that is held offline at several centres across the country. Final admission is subject to a personal interview (PI) round of the shortlisted candidates.

No, candidates can not get direct admission in VIT Vellore. The college provides an admission process to students on the basis of an entrance exam for the majority of the courses. Some of the popular national-level entrance exams accepted by the college are NATA, GATE, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, etc.
The total tuition fee for VIT Vellore BTech ranges between INR 4.9 lakh and 7.8 lakh. The total course fee, includes a caution deposit of INR 3,000 as well. The fee will vary as per the specialisation selected by the candidates. BTech is available in 24 specialisations, namely Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics), Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, etc. Aspirants are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. There are mainly two types of scholarships offered at VIT Vellore viz. Scholarships under the STARS programme and GVSDP scholarship.
VIT Vellore offers scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships. Furthermore, NRI and foreign students are given scholarships upon presenting meritorious records. Admission to VIT BTech course is based on VITEEE score, followed by a counselling round. Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology every year for admission to undergraduate engineering courses (BTech) of participating institutes. Every year, VITEEE is held to get students enrolled in various undergraduate courses. VIT also considers the eligibility of the aspirants for final admission. After completion of the selection rounds, the institute releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.
The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for M.Tech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). After passing the entrance exam, aspirants are called further rounds of selection. Shortlisted aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification round.

VIT Vellore MCA Admission 2026: How to Apply?
Below mentioned are the important highlights regarding the VIT Vellore counselling process for MCA admission:
- All the required documents are to be shown in original for verification and a set of photocopies will be collected for the candidate
- A mandatory sum of INR 1 lakh as an advance fee is to be submitted by the candidate as a demand draft in the favour of 'Vellore Institute of Technology’, payable at Vellore. If the candidate withdraws their admission the processing fees of INR 11,800 will be deducted from the advance fee
- Applicants without the DD for the said amount will not be permitted to attend the counselling
- Allotment of seat and campus for a programme once made is final and will not be changed under any circumstance

Vellore Institute of Technology has released VITMEE application form at www.admissions.vit.ac.in/pgapplication. The step-by-step process to fill VITMEE application form for MCA admission at VIT Vellore is listed below:
Step 1: Follow the link: www.admissions.vit.ac.in/pgapplication to directly land on the official application portal of VITMEE.
Step 2: Register by addressing all the registration details as shown in the below snip:
Step 3: Log in with the registration details to activate the VITMEE applicant account.
Step 4: Fill out the remaining application form by addressing guardian details, address of communication, academic qualifications, etc. An application number will be generated that has to be saved for future references.
Step 5: Pay an application fee of INR 1,200 for General candidates via Netbanking/ Credit/ Debit card/ Paytm.
Step 6: Upload scanned photograph and signature along with other documents as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities. Click on final submission once done.

Candidates who have passed regular, full-time UG/ Integrated degree from a recognised institute/ university of at least three years of duration with a minimum of 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST candidates and applicants belonging to Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) can apply for the MBA course. Candidates can apply for BBA at VIT Vellore directly after clearing Class 12 board exams. Selection will be done on Class 12 results only for candidates who fulfill the BBA eligibility criteria. Candidates are selected during a counselling round.
