The First Semester Gave Me A Hard Time
Talking about my college life, the first year was full of joyful as well as stressful experiences. I made a lot of friends; I used to talk to a lot of seniors and other people. In the first year, everyone has to study the same subjects and from the second year onwards, the students are divided based on the branch-specific courses. In my first year, I was more focused on sports and exploring other extracurricular activities on campus and was not much inclined towards studies, and hence I couldn’t perform well in my first semester academically. |I also volunteered to work in the college festivals, namely Rendezvous, Tryst, and Becon. The best memory of my first year was enjoying the college festival and dancing to the promise of the festival. I was doing that for the first time in my life, and I was enjoying it. But in the second semester, I tried to cope with academics and did very well in it.

I learned various skills from participating in multiple events
I was actively involved in many sports activities such as cricket, volleyball, hockey, javelin throwing, discussing throwing, and shotput. I represented my hostel in all the above-mentioned sports in the General Championship and did well in all of them; although I didn’t win anything, it was a good experience. I also participated in a fresher dance championship called Offbeat with my two other friends; it was a very fun experience. I also participated in the college festival.
From the second year onwards, I was more focused on my studies, but in my spare time, I used to take part in cultural and sports activities for the hostel. I took part in competitions organized by Hindi Samiti and Fine Arts clubs. I was also the mess committee member of the hostel. There, we had to design the menu for the mess, and through this, I got to interact with the management of the hostel mess and thus improved my soft skills. I was the hostel squash captain, which helped me to learn leadership skills. Under my leadership, our hostel squash team qualified for the quarterfinals of the GC. I got to learn a lot from it.

College life has contributed a lot to my personal growth, whether it’s through interactions with peers, managing responsibilities, or balancing academics and extracurriculars. We get to learn a lot from our friends and seniors. As I approach the third year of my college life, I feel excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead. IIT Delhi has given me memorable experiences, lifelong friendships, and invaluable lessons. I’m eager to apply everything I’ve learned so far and continue growing in the upcoming years.
