Yes, you can join the BSc in Aviation after completing Class 12 or equivalent education. BSc Aviation course is typically an undergraduate degree program, and many universities and Aviation institutes offer it as a post-high school option. However, specific admission requirements and eligibility criteria can vary depending on the institution and the country where one plans to study.
It's essential to conduct thorough research on the specific BSc Aviation course and institutions one is interested in to ensure that they align with educational and career goals.
Yes, but only if you have passed specific tests after earning your BSc in Aviation. To become a pilot, nevertheless, you do not always need a bachelor's degree in aviation. An applicant must have passed class 12 in the Science stream with Physics and Mathematics as their core subjects and received a minimum grade of 50% to be eligible to become a pilot.
It is entirely up to you whether you want to pursue further education or a career as a pilot after receiving an MSc in aviation.
I'll give you a brief about the main job portfolios that are hosted by the Aviation industry:
For Pilot Training:
- Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udan Academy (IGRUA) - Rae Bareli is the only government-owned institute for pilot training. There are state flying clubs which run in collaboration with state governments:
- Madhya Pradesh Flying Club - Indore & Bhopal 3. Nagpur Flying Club, etc. CAE Gondia is another premier institute which works in collaboration with some private airlines to train candidates to obtain a CPL.
for AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) Course:
- Indian Institute of Aeronautics (IIA)
- Indian Aviation Academy
For Flight Dispatchers Course:
- CTE Hyderabad - Run by Air India
For air hostess training: There are no government-owned colleges. However, a number of private academies are operational in the market.
Though it's important to check the required documents list from the college's official website, here are some essential things you must carry during BSc Aviation application process:
- Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
- Passport-sized photographs
- Valid photo ID proof (Adhaar, PAN card, passport, etc.)
- Migration certificate, etc.
I doubt! The BSc Aviation eligibility criteria require Mathematics and Physics in Class 12, which is only possible if you are from the Science stream. Since this course has a strong focus on aeronautical Science or engineering, Mathematics and Physics basics are mandatory.

BSc in Aviation is a 3 - 4 year undergraduate degree that teaches the students about science, technology and management behind aviation also. It covers topics like aircraft systems, aerodynamics, meteorology, air traffic control, aviation safety and airline or airport management.
It is ideal for those who are aiming to become pilots, aviation managers, air traffic controllers, or safety officers. However, it doesn’t make you a pilot by itself you'll still need separate flight training for a pilot license.
So basically it prepares you for technical and managerial roles in the aviation industry, both on the ground and in the air.
