Anna University is well satisfied with placements and exploration.
Placements: High package - 33 L, the lowest package - 3 L, average package - 6 L. Anna University has a robust placement programme, attracting numerous companies across various sectors. Some of the companies are Apian, Microsoft, etc. Nowadays, the internship opportunities seem to decrease in count.
Infrastructure: All the students of the college are provided with Anna Wi-Fi. The speed of the Wi-Fi is quite enough for academics. There is a health centre inside the campus, which is open to all students, faculty members, etc. There is a huge library inside the campus.
Faculty: The exams will be very tough to clear. The pass percentage is 50 percent. The course curriculum is quite relevant to the industry. Most faculty members hold advanced degrees (Masters and Ph.D. from reputed institutions and from abroad). No complaint regarding teaching.
Other: There will be two events held in the even semester. One will be a teach event and the other will be a non-teach event. In the odd semester, there will be no events.

Good exposure and campus.
Placements: Around 70% are placed and many go for higher studies. The lowest package is 3 Lacs and the highest is 21 Lacs. A student recently got into Apple as well. Most students get placed as Software Development. Students also get mass recruited at the end of the placement season. Companies like Fidelity, Visa, Citi Bank recruit students here often.
Infrastructure: The department has working labs and classrooms. There is a common library for all students within and outside the nearby campus. You cannot connect to data on your mobile within the department, but they will provide students with Wi-Fi that can be registered with your laptop. The quality of food is subpar in the international hostel. It is very repetitive. Housekeeping is prompt. The medical center closes by 5 pm, so in case of emergency, you have to visit Malar hospital nearby. Sports culture is very strong here.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified but lack the ability to teach. The course is slowly being revised and is somewhat relevant, making the students industry-ready through mandatory internship/summer projects. Semester exams are application-oriented. Pass percentage is 45% if you pass in internals.
Other: I chose the course because I assumed it has good placement. There are many scholarships that are offered for different sections of society. The campus crowd is mostly Tamilians, with few foreign nationals, NRIs, and other state students. I wish the professors were more approachable.

Review of B.Tech in information technology at Anna University.
Placements: We have higher placement chances in both the core and non-core companies. Our alumni's got placed in various roles such as finance, IT, consultant and so on. And also, they honestly respect and support our start-up ideas patiently without any jealousy. They had given their fullest support.
Infrastructure: There are 400 computers present in our college laboratories. As programmers were appointed to monitor the computer laboratories, they additionally took care of students while doing programs. Also, technical assistants were appointed in order to monitor machines and equipment.
Faculty: During examinations, our teachers gave special attention to the students who scored below average marks and they arranged special coaching for them in their lacking subjects. Also, special rooms were allocated for the students who have medical issues like fever during exams.

Our college has an excellent environment. It provides good opportunities.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in our department. Top recruiting companies are Visa, Goldman Sachs, Caterpillar, Amazon, etc. The highest salary package offered is 24 LPA. The average salary package offered is 10.1 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5.2 LPA. About 20% of students got internships in Visa, Goldman Sacks, Caterpillar, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: Our department offers good facilities like unlimited classrooms, six labs, a data center, a library, etc. The quality of the faculty available in the hostel is good. The food served in the mess is good sometimes. We have a separate health center. It is available 24X7.
Faculty: All faculty members are helpful and qualified enough to publish books. This course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not difficult but enough to acquire skills and knowledge. The pass percentage is 50% in all subjects.
Other: Students get a good environment to study and learn skills. Extracurricular activities are always encouraged in our college. I chose this course because of my interest in computers and maths.

CEG is a dream college where a student can explore anything he/she is interested in.
Placements: Most of the people from IT department who had no arrears got placed in good companies. Many big companies came for placements. The highest CTC package offered in 2019 was around 23 LPA including stocks. Microsoft, Uber, Myntra and Goldman sachs came for placements.
Infrastructure: Classrooms in CEG are decent. Most of the classrooms are projector enabled. Most of the times, our classes are in the same building. For general topics, classes happen at knowledge park building. For department specific subjects, classes happen in classrooms in department building.
Faculty: In most of the classes, teachers are brilliant. They inspire students to study. They guide the students most of the time. The courses need to be changed in terms of practical subjects. Since I chose IT department, I feel if there were subject where you have to do project by yourself then that would have been very helpful.

It is a very good college, which has good teachers, great placements and great infrastructure.
Placements: I am from the 2017 batch, and our college is providing internships this year for us. Good opportunities are available in our college, so we have to prepare well for them and utilise them. Approximately 80% of the students got placed from our course. The highest salary package offered is around 30 LPA and the average salary package offered is 10 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are DE. Shaw and Morgan Stanley. Top roles offered in our course are software engineer and tester. About 30% of the students got internships from our course, and companies which offer internships are Samsung, SAP Labs, Expanion, Amazon, FourKites, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities available for our course are labs with air-conditioning and neat classrooms with projector facility and touch pen supported whiteboards. Wi-Fi facility is provided so that we can learn a lot with the help of internet. The library is a very beautiful thing here, and we can use the books there, or we can borrow by registering. Our college has good hostel facilities for both boys and girls separately. The food served here is good and better than most of the other colleges. The canteen facility is also provided. Our college gives great importance to sports and games the same as academics. There is a health centre for students in case of medical emergencies.
Faculty: Our college has good faculty members and friendly lab assistants. Teachers are very experienced, friendly, helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is very relevant so that we can gain knowledge in every possible way. Every subject is an in-depth version of the course. The syllabus is enough to make the students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course since I am interested in computers since from a very long time. My father is a professor of computer science, so we had computers at our home for a long time. I learnt a lot about computers, and I got very interested in them. I wish that our college should improve the course in ways like it should support the senior-junior relationship so that seniors guide us to prepare well. A lot of events are organised on our campus. Every department has its own inter and intra-college symposium in which many technical, non-technical and workshops are conducted. Cultural activities are awesome here. The campus surroundings are very social, and we get a lot of friends here. The campus crowd is good. Every student who is good at academics will join in our campus only. Scholarships are provided for students who are eligible. Extracurricular activities are highly supported.

It is a prestigious college with good infrastructure and nice campus to learn.
Placements: The placements for the college is good for the computer science and the IT department. But for the department, the chances are less and restricted. The placement cell is not taking necessary steps for the betterment of the placement opportunities for other departments. And for computer science and IT too, they are not negotiating the package. They have the power to negotiate.
Infrastructure: The college has the facility of a free Wi-Fi, a good library, good classrooms, and affordable canteen. On the infrastructure-wise, it is a good campus. They provide facilities which are not available even in the private colleges. The laboratories are good enough to provide practical knowledge, and every equipment is available for use.
Faculty: The faculty of this college are well-experienced. Only some staffs are good enough to teach students. Many staffs are even not eligible to take the exam of the 10th standard based syllabus. This is the only drawback of the college.Among them, very few staffs are highly qualified, and many of them are under-qualified.

Poor placements in 2017 but good results in college percentage
Placements: Our senior students got placed well and in good companies. 50% students got placed. The highest salary is Rs. 28,000 and the lowest salary is Rs. 8500. Wipro visited and software developer role was offered. The highest stipend offered is Rs. 15000 and the lowest stipend offered is Rs. 8000. But most of our students struggled to go in placements due to the lack of aptitude questions and answers.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, Internet, lab, sports and the blood camp were there. The quality of labs is very good and the management is also fine. But classrooms look like average. The food is good and hostel rooms are also good but not satisfying since they allocate 8 members per room. No infrastructure issues here and our college is the best. Our teachers fully support and they are trained well enough for placements and exam preparations.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are extraordinary. They are knowledgeable and their teaching is understandable. They are really helpful to us and they used the projector for teaching. The student to faculty ratio is 10:8. The curriculum was really useful.
Other: Our college also conducts a blood camp yearly twice so it is a nice programme and they always conduct a symposium which is really helpful for us. Our college gives more importance to sports. Ragging is strictly prohibited in our college which is the best thing and they give more importance to students' studies. The cultural program is a good one and they also conduct it with sports.

Hello Thamizh, You have very less chances of getting admission for IT branch at CEG campus of Anna University. You might get it if you belong to SC and ST caste. But if you are OC or BC category student, then it is very difficult. Try your luck at the counselling. All the best.

The admission is not based on he overall scores but it is based on the cut off marks out of 200 in PCM. If you have this cut off score above 195, then you can get IT in Anna University.

For Anna University admission candidates must have studied mathematics, physics and chemistry. The candidate should have passed in all the subjects and scored a minimum average of 50% in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.
