CUET FAQs 2026: Candidates preparing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for Undergraduate course admissions might seek details about CUET UG 2026 exam. Q. What is CUET UG?

Ans. Common University Entrance Test or CUET UG is conducted for admission to central universities or other universities (State, Private, Deemed or autonomous institutions).  CUET UG provides a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates all over India seeking admission to top CUET-accepting colleges. It is a single entrance test conducted for admission to UG courses.

Q. When will be CUET UG 2026 conducted?

Ans. CUET 2026 exam will be scheduled tentatively between May 11 to May 31, 2026 for admission to UG courses. The exam will be a computer based test (CBT). 

Q. How many times is CUET conducted in a year?

Ans. CUET is conducted once a year.  

Q. Will NTA release the CUET UG date sheet 2026?

Ans. It is expected that NTA will issue the CUET UG 2026 datesheet PDF for all 37 subjects. However, last year, NTA did not release the CUET UG schedule as exam was administered in CBT mode across multiple shifts. Candidates can also check the CUET UG schedule 2026 for applied subjects once CUET Intimation 2026 is released. It is expected that CUET UG 2026 intimation slip will be released in last week of April 2026.

Q. How is CUET UG helpful?

Ans. In the past, students were under pressure of achieving over 95% marks in their Class 12 Board Examination to get admission into their desired university. With implementation of CUET UG 2026, the burden on students to attain high marks in the singular Board Examination has reduced.

As per CUET exam pattern, the question paper will include multiple-choice Choice Questions.

Aligned with the Class 12 syllabus, CUET 2026 removes the need for separate preparation for candidates currently studying in Class 12.

CUET 2026 offers students 23 domain subjects, 13 languages, and a General Aptitude Test.

Q. What is the role of NTA in CUET?

Ans. NTA is the conducting body for CUET UG. The role of NTA is related to CUET registrations, issuing of CUET admit cards or intimation slips, releasing answer keys, conducting exams and declaring CUET results. NTA has no role in admission to CUET-accepting universities.

Q. Which universities are participating in CUET?

Ans. More than 250 universities are participating in CUET 2026 exam. Click on the link provided- cuet.nta.nic.in to know the list of all CUET accepting universities.

Q. Is it compulsory to appear for CUET for admission to central universities?

Ans. Yes, candidates must appear for CUET 2026 for admission to UG courses offered by central universities for the academic year 2026-27.

Q. When will be CUET 2026 exam conducted?

Ans. CUET 2026 will be held from May 11 to May 31, 2026. The exam will be held in Computer Based mode.

Q. What will the mode of examination for CUET UG?

Ans. CUET UG 2026 will be held in CBT mode. Due to the paper leak crisis in the offline mode examination, NTA will now conduct exam in CBT mode for fair conduct of the exam.

Ans. CUET is conducted for admission to undergraduate courses offered by participating universities. The exam is conducted once a year. Hence, candidates will have one attempt to appear for CUET UG in a year.

UGC has announced the deletion of 26 subjects from CUET UG 2025 onwards. CUET UG 20 foreign languages and six domain subjects have been removed. Check the list below to know the name of the subjects:

Ans. No, candidates must use their own valid email ID or phone number to register for CUET 2026. All the details and important notification will be conveyed on candidate’s Email ID or through SMS.

Ans. National Testing Agency reopened the CUET UG registration 2026 winow again on February 23. As per the revised schedule, CUET application form 2026 was available till February 26, 2026. Ans. In the CUET 2026 exam, candidates will have the opportunity to choose a maximum of six subjects from all three sections.

Q. I have applied for six subjects in CUET application form, but the CUET intimation slip does not show all subjects opted.

Ans. If a candidate is unable to view all the subjects in CUET intimation Slip, he/she should wait for a while for the intimation slip to be updated. Candidates will be able to download the CUET intimation slip at cuetug.ntaonline.in.

Q. What is CUET answer key challenge process?

Ans. Once the CUET UG 2026 exam is conducted, NTA releases the CUET answer key along with the responses of the candidates. Candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to challenge answer in case of any discrepancy in answer provided by NTA. Candidates will be required to pay INR 200 per CUET 2026 answer key challenge.

The window to challenge the CUET 2026 answer key will be opened online for a duration of two to three days. Challenges will be verified and will be updated in CUET final answer key 2026 if relevant. Results will be processed based on the answer key received.

Q. Will there be any negative marking for any wrong answer?

Ans. Yes, candidates will be marked negatively for very wrong answer.

Yes, students can get admission in City Academy Law College without CUET. The college accepts both CUET and Lucknow University Exam scores to shortlist students. In case, a valid CUET score is not available, students have the option of submitting Lucknow University exam scores instead.

No, students can not get into Hindu College, University of Delhi Without giving CUET exam. CUET score is necessary to get admisisons in Hindu College. After the results of CUET, the cut off is released. The seats are allocated through Common Seat Allocation System  (CSAS) of Delhi University.
