Overview

IPMAT Rohtak exam pattern 2026 depicts the important aspects of the IPMAT Rohtak question paper, including the number of sections, type of questions, marking scheme, sectional weightage and other details. The IPMAT Rohtak 2026 exam will be conducted in computer-based test mode (CBT). IPM Aptitude Test 2026 will have three sections and a total of 120 MCQs. IPMAT Rohtak exam will have sections based on Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability. According to the IPMAT paper pattern 2026, each section will have 40 MCQs. Each section will have a time limit. For admissions to the IPM programme, candidates who clear the written exam will be required to appear for the Personal Interview round at IIM Rohak. Yes, IPM AT exam has negative markings. Each question in IPMAT Rohtak carries 4 marks. And for every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted. No marks will be deducted or awarded for unanswered questions.

Q:   Are there subjective-type questions in the IPM AT exam?
A: 

No, the IPM Rohtak entrance exam does not have any subjective questions. There are 120 multiple-choice questions. These questions are divided across the three sections of the IPM AT question paper. Each section in the IPM Aptitude Test carries 40 multiple choice questions for four marks each. Candidates should carefully prepare for the exam, as there is a sectional time limit as well as negative marking in the IPM AT question paper. 

Q:   What are the topics we need to focus on IPMAT during the last few days?

Students should not begin preparing for new topics in the last few days of the IPMAT exam. This will only cram their mind and they may falter. However, they must revise the key topics of the IPMAT syllabus.  Students should also take ample mokc tests and solve previous years' question papers to know the key topics. They must focus on topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry. For the VA section, students should strengthen their vocabulary with the help of newspapers and editorials and practice grammar exercises. 

Students should not forget to revise important formulas, theorems, and concepts for mathematics, and practice solving problems related to these topics.

Q:   What is the duration of the IPM Aptitude Test?

The duration of the IPM AT exam is decided by the exam conducting authority, IIM Rohtak. The IPM Aptitude Test is conducted every year in the computer-based test mode across various test centres in the country. The duration of the exam is two hours or 120 minutes. The candidates appearing for the IPM AT must know that there is a sectional time limit of 40 minutes per section. There are three sections in the IPM AT exam and each section is to be attempted within the limited time frame. 

Q:   Is IPMAT IIM Indore better than IIM Rohtak's IPMAT?
A: 

IPMAT and IPM Aptitude Test (IIM Rohtak) have similar syllabus but the difficulty level is different. Both exams have Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability sections. However, IIM Rohtak's IPMAT exam has an additional section- Logical Reasoning. While IPM Aptitude Test is an easy exam, IIM Indore's IPMAT is moderately tough but to say which is better totally depends upon the college a candidate is targeting for the five-year integrated programme. The participating colleges for both exams are different. If a candidate's dream college accepts IPMAT score, then they should appear for IPMAT exam. The IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore is accepted by other institutes such as IIFT, IIM Ranchi, Nirma University,  Alliance University,  NICMAR University,  Department of Management Studies and NALSAR University of Law. The benefit of IPMAT by IIM Indore is that the exam is accepted by multiple top management insitutes in country, whereas the one conducted by IIM Rohtak is only accepted by IIM Rohtak. 

Q:   Is the IPM Aptitude Test syllabus the same every year, or does it change?

The topics in the IPM Aptitude Test syllabus have remained the same. Students should go through previous years' question papers and exam specific sample papers to know the kind of questions asked in the exam, their difficulty level and the weightage given to different topics to bifurcate the topics according to their importance in the exam.

Key Points of IPMAT Rohtak Paper Pattern 2026

Students must keep the following points in mind about the IIM Rohtak IPM exam pattern:

  • IIM Rohtak's IPMAT is a computer-based entrance test. Hence, students are not required to carry any stationery such as pens, pencils, etc. to the exam centre.
  • Applicants will be given a blank sheet for the rough work for calculations.
  • Applicants are not allowed breaks during the exam. 
  • Candidates must not carry any electronic gadget to the exam centre and must not indulge in malpractice of any kind. If caught, they will be disbarred from the exam. 
  • One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer hence candidates must carefully mark the answers in the IPMAT Rohtak question paper.

Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Each section is to be solved within 40 minutes. Since IPM Aptitude Test is a centre-based online exam the test screen will move from first section to the next section automatically as soon as the time limit gets over. Thus candidates have to be mindful of the on-screen timer and pre-decide the number of questions to solve in each section. It is not mandatory to solve all the questions in IPM AT exam so candidates can devise a strategy to use 40 minutes per section as per their strength and weakness. Candidates must also keep in mind the negative marking in the IPM AT exam. One mark will be deducted from the overall score for each incorrect answer. For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded.

Q:   Is the IPM Aptitude Test given online or offline?
A: 

The IPM AT exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak. The exam is conducted once every year for admission to the five year integrated programme in management. The exam is conducted in the computer-based test mode or online mode every year. The complete IPM AT admission process is online. Students who have filled the IPM AT application form online on the official website will be required to appear for the online exam on the designated exam centre. The students need to reach the exam centre in order to take the online test. Q:   I am in 12th and want to appear for IPM Aptitude Test, can I fill the form of IPMAT without the results of 12th class?
A: 

Yes, students who are in Class 12 or are awaiting for their Class 12 results can apply for the IPMAT exam. The basic eligibility crtieria for appearing for the IPM AT exam is as follows:

  • The candidate should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10/SSC and Class 12/ HSC or equivalent examination in the case of the General and NC-OBC categories.

  • Also, the candidate should be a maximum of 20 years of age as of June 30, 2026.

  • The candidate should have scored a minimum of 55% aggregate in Class 10/SSC and Class 12/ HSC or equivalent examination in the case of SC, ST and PWD (DA) categories.

  • Applicants awaiting the Class 12 results and are likely to complete Class 12 by June 2026 are also eligible to apply provisionally. If the candidate fails to submit the required documents, then, their candidature will be cancelled. 
Q:   What is a good score in IPMAT Rohtak exam?
A: 

For the General category, a score of 370 or above is usually considered a good IPMAT Rohtak score. The total score in IPMAT Rohtak is 480.  While a score in the 300-350 range can still provide a strong chance of getting through, candidates should for at least 370 and above to increase their chances of being shortlisted for the further selection process.

IPMAT is conducted only once an year through computer based mode in different cities throughout India. One can give this exam only once a year and will have to wait for another year to give it again.

IIM Rohtak accepts IPMAT Rohtak scores for IPM admissions. TAPMI University Manipal also accepts IPMAT Rohtak scores but also accept IPMAT Indore. 

Most IIMs accept IPMAT Indore scores.
