IIT BHU Cutoff 2025: Check Category-wise JEE Advanced Cutoff Ranks

IIT Varanasi has released the category-wise cutoffs for various BTech specialisations. For BTech admissions, JEE Advanced is conducted widely by IITs. A JEE Advanced rank of 3000 under OBC category can be considered as the decent rank, however, this rank is insufficient to secure BTech in CSE programme in 2024. Other than CSE, the top courses for which candidates have the option to get a seat at IIT BHU are Chemical Engineering,  Mechanical Engineering,   Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering and Ceramic Engineering.

IIT Varanasi accepts JEE Advanced scores to allow admission to BTech, BArch and other courses, . Recently. IIT Varanasi Cutoff 2025 for the Round 1 seat allotment results has been released by the institute, based on candidates' performance in JEE Advanced. As per the Round 1 cutoff data, the closing cutoff for various courses ranged between 1838 and 19019. The toughest course out of all was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, with the last-round closing rank of 1838, for the General AI category candidates. The least competitive course was BArch for the General AI category. Therefore, it s possible to get into IIT Varanasi with JEE Advanced arank of 7000. During the IIT BHU JEE Advanced cutoff 2026, the Round 1 closing ranks for BTech core branches, including Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, ranged between 936 and 2245 for the SC category students under the AI quota.  Considering the first round cutoff, candidates must target a cutoff rank of up to 2245 and below to get BTech core branches at IIT Varanasi.

During the IIT BHU MSc cutoff 2026, the Round 2 of the IIT JAM closing ranks ranged between 378 and 447 for students belonging to the General AI quota. For other categories, check out the table below: 

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate is the basic eligibility for MSc offered at IIT Varanasi. Candidates with a minimum of aggregate are eligible for the course.

Banaras Hindu University is situated in Banaras and it is one of the top- most university of India. It is very famous for its specialisation course. The courses offered by the university are B.Sc, BA, B.E, M.Sc, B.Tech, M.Techetc. BHU gives admission on the basis of entrance exam. BHU accepts the score of CUET UG and CUET PG for admission purpose and for B.Tech BHU accepts the score of JEE Mains and for M.Tech GATE scores are accepted and the candidate must have competed their bachelor's degree with minimum of 50% aggregate.

The steps for applying for M.Tech in BHU are as follows:

1. Give the prospective exam.
2. Check the result of the exam.
3. Apply for the counselling and pay the counselling fees.
4. Check the merit list released by the college.
5. Apply for admission.
6. Pay the fees of the course to secure the seat.

Yes, you might be able to get a seat at  IIT BHU with a rank of 700 if you belong to the SC All India category. For this category, the cutoff in round 1 ranged from 1529 to 1557, based on the round 1 of the  BHU JAM cutoff 2026. 

If you belong to the ST category, you might also get a chance at admission. For this category, the cutoff in round 1 ranged from 2804 to  2815.
