This is the best college in Jharkhand.
Placements: In 2025, IIT Dhanbad saw an overall placement rate of 76.36% for the 2024-25 academic year, with 70% placed and the highest package of 60 LPA and an average package of 13 LPA. The placement scenario varies by department, with Computer Science and Engineering achieving an 86.50% placement rate and Petroleum Engineering achieving a high of 93.33%. Major recruiters include Google, Microsoft, and Tata.
Infrastructure: IIT Dhanbad has a large 444.98-acre campus with a fully automated, extensive library, spacious smart board-equipped classrooms, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Student amenities include 24/7 healthcare, sports facilities like a swimming pool and gymnasium, and the student canteen offers spacious twin-sharing rooms with high-speed internet. This university is very good in all its facilities. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned.
Faculty: Teachers of this university are helpful and Ph.D.-qualified, and they teach students in a very effective manner. They make hard concepts very easy. The course curriculum provided by this college is relevant to students, making them industry-ready. This university organizes numerous exams on campus, enabling students to perform well in the final examination. There is a 60% passing criterion.
Other: There are many fests and events organized at this university. This university also provides scholarships for weak students so they can easily pursue their studies. There are many extracurricular activities organized at this college, like a sports fest, which is organized every year to build the aura of IIT Dhanbad students.

Best IIT for opting for core fields.
Placements: The placement of my branch is best among others because this college is mainly known for Mining of petroleum and Metallurgy as well as material engineering. Almost 90% students are placed every year with an average package of 12 LPA that goes to 34 LPA. Companies that come for this branch are mostly PSUs like Bharat Petroleum, ONGC, Indian Oil, and many more. Internships are offered to 80% students. They hire for a System Engineer and a manager role.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my branch is average, not good like other IITs. Basic classrooms without a projector, Wi-Fi enabled campus, but with low speed. The library of this college is very big and has a large number of books. Hostel facilities are average, the canteen and mess food are not good in taste, but you can manage it. Medical and sports facilities are good, and students get opportunities to show their talent.
Faculty: Faculty are very well qualified and knowledgeable, as it should be in IITs. Every faculty is supporting students where they need guidance. Curriculum are much relevant to modern technology, and the application of theories is well executed in labs. Semester exams are not easy if you do not study from the start. Those who prepare earlier get passes easily. The numbers would be 90%.

Absolutely I am satisfied because the NIRF ranking of my college.
Placements: Our course had an 81.31% placement rate. The average salary was INR 16.98 lacs, the highest salary was INR 56 lacs, and the median salary was INR 15 lacs in 2023. Top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Tata Metaliks, Tata Power, Tata Steel, American Express, Ram Group, Schlumberger, AMD, Deloitte, and Aditya Birla visited our campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course is good. The library is cool and calm surroundings. The quality of food available in the mess is good, and the medical facilities are excellent. The sports and games facilities are extraordinary.
Faculty: The teachers of our course are very good. They are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is extraordinary. This course makes students industry-ready.

My honest review about my college.
Placements: The placements used to be top-notch 2-3 years back. But with the increase of seats and slowdown in the mining sector, the job opportunities were not as good as before. Many reputed companies like KPMG, TATA Steel, PWC, Tata Consultant Engineers, Tega Industries, and Aditya Birla recruited through this branch. The maximum pay is 10 LPA, with an average around 4.5 LPA. I got selected for RINL Visakhapatnam for an internship. It was a non-stipend internship. Tata Steel also came for internships, and they eventually offered PPOs to some of the selected ones.
Infrastructure: There are 6 hostels for males and 2 for females. All the hostels are good, but I love Diamond Hostel because of the heritage it has. The rooms are spacious, and you need to share the room with one person. The hostel fees are included in your semester registration. The course curriculum is pretty good. It is well-structured and helps the students in getting a better understanding of the entire field.
Faculty: The course is basically about mineral processing techniques and the engineering involved in those processes. It is under the Fuel and Mineral Engineering department, which has good lab and research facilities. The faculty members are very qualified in the past, but since the last 2 years, some good professors have left, creating a void.

Well-qualified faculty, relevant curriculum, and high pass rates at IIT ISM, Dhanbad.
Placements: Around 65% of students got placed. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and many more. Internship percentages are always lower than the placement percentage. Around 400 students from 1000 got internships every year. Many top roles are offered because of the tech field and the core field. There are software development engineer, data engineer, general manager, etc., roles offered.
Infrastructure: There are many hostels around 12 on our campus. If we talk about facilities, there are double-occupancy rooms available for students. If we talk about the final year, there is a single-occupancy room. The college has its own Wi-Fi. The labs are very good. We have our own library, which is Asia's second biggest library. Classrooms are large and clean. AC facilities are there. Mess food is decent, not that good compared to what we have eaten at home. If you want more, you can ask.
Faculty: Faculty is well-qualified, largely knowledgeable and helpful, though a few are less effective. Curriculum is generally up-to-date and industry-relevant, with some room for modernization. The industry has a strong foundation and practical application in most branches. Exams difficulty is moderate. End semesters are comprehensive, and grading is relatively. Pass percentage is high, typically more than 90%, some branches report up to 97%. Student insights core branches (like Petroleum, mining) see better alignment, newer or niche branches may lag slightly.
Other: I chose this because, firstly, according to my advanced rank, I got this branch. My course is very good, it's a never-ending story for companies and society. There are many events held on our campus. You visit and you will know about it.

Good placement in 2024, average infrastructure and good facilities.
Placements: Above 70% of students were placed in my course. 49.2 Lacs per annum is the highest placement of my course. Around 12 Lacs per annum, which is 12.5 Lacs per annum, is the average placement in my course. 11.88 Lacs per annum is the median package in my course. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Google, ONGC, etc.
Infrastructure: In the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, there is a huge library and I2H building, which has great infrastructure. The department building has below average infrastructure, and the Heritage Building has average infrastructure. Wi-Fi speed is low at the hostel, medical facilities are good, but the mess food is poor. Sports and games are too good.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are very helpful and Ph.D. qualified from respected institutes like IIST Bengaluru, MNIT Allahabad, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. Some are research scholars from Japan. They are knowledgeable, teaching quality is good above average, but delivery quality is average.
Other: This course is based on the environment. I chose this course because of my rank, but it is good. The best thing is that it focuses on environmental aspects, the numerical part is better, but I want to remove the extra theory part. Concetto, Srijan, are fests of ISM.
