The total tuition fee for the full-time BTech programme offered at IIT Guwahati is INR 8 lakh. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are exempted from paying tuition fees. Further, the total course fee will include other components such as one-time admission fee (non-refundable), refundable caution deposits (refundable), annual insurance premium, and other important charges. Admission to M.Tech at IITG is entirely based on GATE score. Candidates with a GATE rank between 600 and 800 and a score between 400 and 800 will have a good chance for getting admitted in an MTech course at IITG. To apply for BTech admission, candidates have to visit the official website of the NTA and fill out the application form for JEE Main. For PhD, candidates can fill out the application form. The application fee is INR 500 for PG courses and INR 300 for PhD programme. The details are mentioned below:

Admission to BTech at IIT Guwahati is purely based on the score obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam followed by JoSAA counselling. Candidates who have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects is the basic eligibility for BDes offered at IIT Guwahati. Further, the selection of candidates is based on the scores obtained by them in the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) followed by a counselling round conducted at the institute.
IIT Guwahati has a seat intake of 33 for MDes, including 13 seats for the General category. The institute reserves 3 seats for the EWS General category and 9 seats for OBC-NCL. For SC and ST, the institute offers 5 and 3 seats, respectively. This seat intake is as per the past years' data and hence is subject to changes.
