IIT Kharagpur's Vinod Gupta School of Management offers a two-year MBA degree in seven specializations and one micro specialisation. The Vinod Gupta School of Management's (VGSOM) flagship MBA curriculum is a residential programme for recent engineering graduates and those who have earned master's degrees in Science, the field of economics or commerce. Hostels at IIT Kharagpur are furnished with beds, tables, chairs, high-speed LAN ports, fans, lights and adequate electricity ports. The quantity of the aforementioned things may vary depending upon the occupancy of the room whether it’s single room, double sharing or triple occupancy sharing.

Also, some halls (hostel is referred to as hall of residence at IIT Kharagpur and hostellers as boarders) have washing machine facilities and some don’t. Laundry service is available at a reasonable price.

The basic eligibility requirement for the M.Tech programme IIT Kharagpur is pass in Class 12^th with a min. of 75% aggregate, bachelor's degree holder with a 60% aggregate and the accepted entrance exams are GATE and others. IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2025 was released for admission to BTech(Hons), BSc courses and their specialisations, as well as for the BArch course for all rounds and categories under the All India quota.

The last round cutoff in 2025 ranged from 466 to 19141 for the General AI category students, wherein BTech (Hons) Computer Science and Engineering was the toughest branch to get admission to. On the other hand, the easiest course for admission was the Bachelor of Architecture.
