Review of IIT Patna - Indian Institute of Technology.

Placements: 90% of students get placed in my course. The highest package offered in my course is 55 LPA. Many top companies like Amazon, Samsung, Intel, Siemens, Cisco, Zomato, etc., visit the college to hire students. 60-70% of students got internship opportunities in some companies mentioned above. The top role offered is SDE.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Facilities are provided. There are labs and classrooms with good facilities like Wi-Fi, AC, etc. Everything that should be in a hostel or in classrooms is available, like Wi-Fi and good rooms. The quality of the mess food is also good, and the same is for the canteen. It has its own hospital so every facility in the medical area is good.

Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Some of them are too good at teaching. The course curriculum is relevant or we can prefer to do research projects under professors. The difficulty level of exams is moderate. There are minimum grades for each subject to avoid failure like D is the minimum passing grade.

Other: Based on my rank and college preference, I chose this course. AI is introduced and hardware requirements are increased, which can be beneficial for the scope of this field. Annually, four fests are organised, i.e., cultural, freshers, sports, and tech fest. Income-based scholarship is provided.

My time at IIT Patna. The infrastructure is good, but the colors are the same for all of them.

Placements: According to my seniors, nearly 80% of 4th-year students are placed in January, and there might be more by now. The highest package is over 60 LPA, and the average is 25 LPA. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, Accenture, Turing, and Adobe. I don’t exactly know how many students get internships, but the companies that visit our campus for internships include Google (SDE role), Adobe (SDE role), D. E. Shaw (SDE role), Microsoft (SDE role), TCS (Research Intern), Husk Power (Business Analyst), Nvidia (SDE role), Publicis Sapient (SDE role), Siemens (Research Intern), Cummins (Research role), UI Path (SDE role), and Optum (Full Stack Engineer).

Infrastructure: We at IIT Patna have a Tutorial Block and Lecture Hall for classes, and labs equipped with sophisticated equipment. College Wi-Fi is available throughout the academic and hostel areas. We also have a central library under construction, along with respective departmental libraries. As for Hostels, there are four hostels, CV Raman, APJ Abdul Kalam, Asima Hostel, and Aryabhatta Hostel, as well as one married hostel. The mess food quality is very good, but the taste is just okay. We have a hospital on campus, and most major sports and athletics are present on the campus.

Faculty: All lecturers have doctorates, and they have a good reputation across the world. Professors are very strict, but they do listen to our problems, and they adapt to our pace. The course curriculum is highly relevant, and it has the potential to make students industry-ready. Exams are moderate, not that difficult, and the passing criteria are 30% or more.

Other: I have been interested in electronics and circuits from my school days, and I feel like I belong here. Electronics has a good scope for addressing new challenges in the real world. It has made the world more connected through communication. I feel that the labs are a bit outdated, and there is scope to increase their complexity to address real-world problems. IIT Patna hosts many fests and events, such as Anwesha. This year, Vicky Kaushal came to this event to promote his movie Chaava. There are other events like Celesta, Infinito, TEDx, and Nebula. MCM and NSP are scholarships available on campus. There are many clubs for students.

The college placement is good.

Placements: In IIT PATNA, almost 90% of students are placed every year, and the placement cell is pretty solid. The average package of this college is 9 LPA. I passed from college in 2022, and my placement package is approximately 7 lakhs per annum. And I am happy with this.

Infrastructure: The whole college has its own private Wi-Fi provider, and every floor has its own Wi-Fi. Many labs are there for practical and better understanding for students. The canteen of the college is clean and good. The college has a sports faculty, so you can play many games.

Faculty: All teachers are good, behave well, and are helpful for students in every situation. All exams are taken at the time without any delay. If you want placement, you need to clear all exams, which will be taken by college. If you fail, college is not responsible for you.

Other: I chose this course because I was interested in doing IIT, and I took admission through clear JEE Main.

A brief about IIT, PATNA.

Placements: In Electrical and Electronics branch, 83% students got placed in 2023 and 100% in 2022. The highest package was 82 LPA, the lowest was 12 LPA, and the average was 24 LPA. Many of them were selected in Tech companies like Bosch, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc. 100% of students got internship opportunity in 6th semester, companies like sprinkler, google, etc.

Infrastructure: Yes, the infrastructure is quite good. We have one big Central library with all the facilities, including wi-fi. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned, etc. Hostels are well maintained. There are 4 hostels: C.V. Raman for freshers, Aryabhatta for 2nd year students, and APJ Abdul Kalam for 3rd and 4th year students.

Faculty: Faculties are well qualified and helpful in research, and the teaching quality of some is quite good, while some is a little bit unsatisfactory. The course curriculum is quite good. Some courses follow the syllabuses from MIT. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The CPI 5 is considered to be passed.

Other: The electrical and electronics branch is quite good; we can see the scope of this field in the future. In India, semiconductor manufacturing companies are also evolving. Everything is good. There is nothing required to improve in the course. There are a total of four festivals. Nebula for freshmen. Infinito for sports, Celesta as a tech fest, and Anwesha (a cultural fest). The NSP scholarship is there for families with incomes less than Rs. 6 LPA. Moreover, there is an institute scholarship for students whose family income is less than 1 LPA and between 2 and 5 LPA. Full concession in tuition for former ones.

Absolutely amazed with the academics, peers and clubs here.

Placements: Almost all students were placed, including those with the highest package of 1.2 crores, the median of about 25 lakhs, and the lowest of about 10 lakhs. The top recruiting companies included Google, Amazon, Samsung, Deloitte, etc. The internship starts in 2nd and 3rd year of the course for companies including Samsung, Google, etc. The top roles are software engineer, electronic engineer, business analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: I am absolutely amazed with all the facilities, of course, including the curriculum and all. Wi-Fi is provided on the entire campus, and labs are fully equipped with the best equipment. Classrooms include lecture halls and tutorial classes. The first-year hostel is CV Raman for boys and Aryabhatta for girls. The hostel facility includes all the basic facilities and good food quality. The medical facility includes a free checkup and medicine. Sports and game facilities are good too. All games have a sports coach.

Faculty: Of course, the professors are top-notch, having said I am in an IIT. The quality varies from proof to proof. The course curriculum is based on real-life problems and is industry-ready as well as life-ready for a student. Semester exams are not that tough to pass as there is relatively little grading too.

Other mandatory Criteria: Candidate should have appeared for the Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates who had appeared in Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered.
