JEE Advanced AAT 2026 exam dates announced.  AAT 2026 exam will be conducted on June 4, 2026. AAT application form 2026 will be available on June 1 and 2, 2026. AAT 2026 results will be announced on June 7, 2026. The exam will be conducted as a 3-hour, pen-and-paper-based test. 

The candidates will be evaluated on their knowledge in General Knowledge, Geometry Drawing, 3D Aspects, Freehand Drawing, Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity in AAT 2026. No separate AAT 2026 admit card will be released. Candidates must present their JEE Advanced 2026 admit card at the centres to attempt the examination. Read to know more about AAT 2026. The qualifying status for the examination will be released through the AAT result 2026. Qualified candidates will be eligible for BArch admissions into IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Varanasi.

What is AAT?

The Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) is conducted every year for the candidates who wish to be admitted to the BArch programme offered by IIT Kharagpur, IIT Varanasi and IIT Roorkee. One of the most important eligibility for appearing in AAT is to qualify JEE Advanced. AAT will be conducted after the JEE Advanced results are out.

Q:   When will AAT 2026 be held?
A: 

Authorities will conduct AAT 2026 on June 4, 2026. AAT will be held from 9 AM to 12 PM. AAT 2026 will be conducted as wriiten test, and candidates have to complete examination within 3 hours. AAT will be held in English. The exam will be conducted to check the knowledge of candidates in General Knowledge, Geometry Drawing, 3D Aspects, Freehand Drawing, Imagination, and Aesthetic Sensitivity.

Q:   I have not qualified JEE Advanced. Can I still apply for AAT?
A: 

No. To be eligible for AAT, all of candidates are required to have attempted and qualified JEE Advanced. Only those candidates who have secured minimum passing marks in JEE Advanced will be able to log in and register for AAT. For AAT registration process, candidates will have to give registration number and date of birth. Without credentials, candidates will not be able to register for AAT. No offline applications will be accepted.

Q:   When will AAT 2026 application form be available?
A: 

AAT 2026 application form will be available online on June 1 and 2, 2026. Eligible candidates will be able to access AAT application form 2026 at jeeadv.ac.in. No applications will be accepted after final date. Since there will be less time given to register for AAT 2026, candidates must complete process as soon as possible.

While there are some sections that require multiple-choice questions, there are some in which the candidates will have to prepare a drawing. In case of multiple-choice questions, the candidates will have to select the correct answer from the provided options.

AAT result will be released online at jeeadv.ac.in. No other mode will be used to declare AAT result. To access AAT result, the candidates will have to provide their JEE Advanced registration number, date of birth and mobile number. After logging in, the candidates will be able to check the qualifying status for the counselling and admission process. No scores will be provided in the AAT result.

Q:   Which details will be available in the AAT result?
A: 

Through the AAT result, the candidates will be able to check important information relevant for their counselling and admission process. Along with personal details, the result of AAT will consist of the candidate's registration number, category and examination qualifying status. The scores obtained in the entrance examination will not be provided in the AAT result. Only the qualifying status is required for BArch admissions into the participating IITs.

Q:   Will my AAT scores be considered for BArch admissions into IITs?
A: 

No. AAT scores will not be considered for BArch admissions into IITs. The candidates are just required to qualify AAT to be eligible for admissions. During the allotment process, the candidate's qualifying status in AAT and JEE Advanced ranks will be taken into consideration by the authorities. Therefore, the candidates are required to accordingly submit their choice of colleges for BArch admissions during the counselling process.

JoSAA Counselling AAT 2026

Candidates who qualify AAT 2026 can participate in JoSAA counselling. During counselling, candidates must register and fill choice of colleges and courses. Allotment of seats is done based on rank, preferences and seat availability. After seat allotment, candidates must complete admission before last date.

Q:   How can I check JoSAA 2026 seat allocation dates?

To check the JoSAA seat allocation dates, you can visit the official JoSAA website or refer to the information bulletin provided by JoSAA. The same information is also updated on this page. The authority usually releases a detailed schedule outlining the seat allocation process, including dates for various rounds of counselling and seat allotment.

Q:   Is JoSAA counselling fees refundable?
A: 

Seat acceptance fee is not refundable. But, if a candidate withdraws seat or the seat is cancelled, then the fee will be refunded, after the processing fee is deducted.

Q:   Is JoSAA counselling free? If not, how much does a candidate have to pay for it?
A: 

The filling-in of choices on the online portal is free of cost. The candidate must pay the seat acceptance fee before continuing with the JoSAA process till the end to avail the seat in an IIT or NIT. The documents uploaded by the candidate will not be verified unless the candidate pays the seat acceptance fee. General/Open category candidates are required to pay a fee of INR 35,000, whereas SC, Gen-PwD, ST, OBC-NCL-PwD, ST-PwD, and SC-PwD have to pay INR 17,500. The fees will be included in the semester fees once students confirm their admission.

Application Form Details of AAT

The authorities will release the AAT 2026 application form online. All eligible candidates will have to fill out and submit the JEE Advanced AAT 2026 application form by the final date. During the AAT 2026 application process, the candidates have to register, check the displayed details and select their choice of exam centre from the available list. If the candidates do not submit the application form before the final date, then they will not be allowed to attempt the examination.

Yes. During AAT registration process, candidates will be able to select choice of exam centre. Once candidates are logged in, candidates will have to select their choice of exam centre from the available list. It is to be noted that the selection of centre has to be done in the order of preference. Since exam centre allotment will be done based on candidate's preferences and availability, candidates are advised to be careful.

Q:   Which credentials are required for AAT registration?
A: 

For AAT registration, candidates will have to visit official website at jeeadv.ac.in and click on the registration link. The candidates will have to log in using JEE Advanced registration number and date of birth. The details have to be similar to JEE Advanced registration. Only those candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced will be eligible for AAT. Once candidates are logged in, candidates will have to check the other details that was submitted during JEE Advanced.

Q:   I made a mistake in my AAT application form. Can I make the changes?
A: 

No. The candidates will not be able to make any changes once the AAT application form is submitted. Since the authorities provide less time for the candidates to complete the AAT registration, they are advised to carefully and quickly complete the process so that they are registered for the entrance examination. No correction facility will be provided. In case of any mistakes or problems in the AAT application form, the candidates are advised to immediately contact the authorities.

Q:   What do I have to carry to the AAT exam centre?

While reporting at AAT exam centre, candidates will have to carry their JEE Advanced admit card. Along with admit card, candidates will also have to present their photo identity proof to invigilators. In case the candidates are not able to present their JEE Advanced admit card and identity proof, then they will not be allowed to attempt examination. Therefore, candidates are advised to read guidelines carefully before reporting to exam centre.

Q:   How will I know my allotted examination centre for AAT?

Since the authorities will not release the AAT admit card, they will notify the candidates about the allotted exam centre details separately. An email will be sent to the candidate's registered ID to inform them about their allotted exam centre address, date, guidelines and other important details that they should be aware of. While reporting at the exam centre, the candidates will have to present their JEE Advanced admit card and photo identity proof.

Q:   Can I obtain JEE Advanced Hall Ticket from an offline source?
A: 

No, candidates cannot get the JEE Advanced admit card form any offline source. Candidates can only download the JEE Advanced admit card  from the official website. IITs release JEE Advanced admit card under the respective logins of the registered candidates at jeeadv. AC. In. To login, candidates have to use their JEE Advanced registration number, password and registered mobile number. The JEE Advanced admit card will be available for download until exam day. The exam date, time, reporting time, exam centre venue and all important instructions for exam day will be mentioned on the JEE Advanced admit card. A printout of the downloaded JEE Advanced admit card and a valid original photo identity card (any one of the following: Aadhaar Card, School/College/Institute ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, Notarized Certificate with the photograph) must be produced at the time of examination, without which, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

AAT 2026 Syllabus

AAT 2026 syllabus released online at jeeadv.ac.in. Through AAT syllabus 2026, the candidates can check the list of topics that need to be studied for the entrance exam. Q:   How many rounds are there in JoSAA Counselling?
A: 

JoSAA counselling is usually held in 5 or 6 rounds. The admission process for admissions in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 40 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) will be done by JoSAA in various rounds deending on various factors. In these rounds, candidates are allotted seats based on their JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank and preferences filled by them during registration. Candidates who are allotted seats have to either accept or float the seat.

No,  Ashoka University does not accept offline application for AAT. Only online applications are accepted.
