The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.

For 2025, the IIT Varanasi JEE Advanced cutoff ranged between 1489 and 20792 for BTech admission across multiple specialisations based on the last round cutoff list for the General AI category candidates, wherein BTech in Computer Science & Engineering was the most competitive. Those students who are aiming for top specialisation should strive to attain a rank of 1489 or lower to increase their chances of admission at IIT BHU. Although please keep in mind that the cutoff will vary across different categories and rounds.

IIT Varanasi has released the category-wise cutoffs for various BTech specialisations. For BTech admissions, JEE Advanced is conducted widely by IITs. A JEE Advanced rank of 3000 under OBC category can be considered as the decent rank, however, this rank is insufficient to secure BTech in CSE programme in 2024. Other than CSE, the top courses for which candidates have the option to get a seat at IIT BHU are Chemical Engineering,  Mechanical Engineering,   Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering and Ceramic Engineering.

IIT Varanasi accepts JEE Advanced scores to allow admission to BTech, BArch and other courses, . Recently. IIT Varanasi Cutoff 2025 for the Round 1 seat allotment results has been released by the institute, based on candidates' performance in JEE Advanced. As per the Round 1 cutoff data, the closing cutoff for various courses ranged between 1838 and 19019. The toughest course out of all was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, with the last-round closing rank of 1838, for the General AI category candidates. For the SC category students under the AI quota, the JEE Advanced cutoff ranks varied between 283 and 2261 for core branches, including CSE, Civil, Chemical, etc. For the core branches, mostly the cutoffs are on the higher side for admission. Candidates seeking admission to core branches must target securing a cutoff rank of up to 2000 to improve their chances of admission at IIT BHU. For admission to BTech at IIT BHU, candidates must appear for the JEE Main and paticipate in the JoSAA counselling process. JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to over 100 institutes, including IITs, JoSAA3 IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). To apply at JoSAA, candidates must register and apply via the JoSAA official website. The counselling has an application fee, which must be paid while submitting the form. The hostel fee at IIT BHU is INR 300 per semester. This fee does not include electricity charges, Gymkhana, Medical, Amenities and other hostel services. A total of INR 5,000 (approx.) needs to be submitted during the admission to get a hostel and other facilities. The institute has 16 hostels for boys and girls separately.

As per the latest Round 1 seat allotment list released by IIT Varanasi for JAM 2025, the MSc programmes has witnessed a significant changes in cutoff ranks over the last three years. According to IIT Varanasi JAM cutoff 2024, the last round closing rank for MSc stood between at 308 and 365 in the General AI quota. Based on IIT Varanasi cutoff 2025, For MSc in Physics, the cutoff closed at 365. Yes, IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute. Some other facilities are also provided to undergraduate students in the form of Institute free studentship, scholarships, reimbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All the students (non-sponsored) admitted to M.Tech or MPharm programmes are provided financial assistance equivalent to the Junior Research Fellowships. The institute also offers a large number of Junior/Senior Research Fellowships to students admitted to PhD programmes.

IIT BHU offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses in the fields of Engineering & Technology, Science, Architecture, and Pharmacy. Candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the IIT Varanasi courses. IIT BHU eligibility varies from course to course. At the UG level, the college offers BTech and other courses to students. At the PG level, the college offers MPharma, and other courses to students.

IIT Varanasi provides ten BTech specialisations, including Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutics Engineering & Technology, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics Engineering. Eligibility for BTech admission at IIT Varanasi is based on meeting the criteria for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Prospective students who have completed their Class 12 in the Science stream with a minimum of 75% aggregate (or 65% for SC/ST/PwD) are eligible to apply.
