NITC is a good college having nice environment and infrastructure.
Placements: For B.Tech, it had good placements but for M.Tech, if you perform well, you'll get placed in core companies and if not in core companies, many service oriented companies will recruit you. It is better to maintain good CGP in academics.
Infrastructure: I really appreciate the infrastructure of this college. Both academic (classrooms, labs) and non-academic (hostels, mess, playground, and tennis courts) were very spacious and well equipped. Overall, design of the college was really nice. Campus opens 24*7.
Faculty: Faculty members were very interactive and supportive in nature. In classrooms, they teaches in a light way but if you dig into the subject, they will fully support you. Our course curriculum was good enough.
Other: The campus was located 20 kms away from Calicut city. Campus climate, crowd environment and infrastructure was really nice. It provides high speed internet throughout the campus.

In short, college life is not so good.
Placements: Placements of M.Tech (CSE) are good. There are two streams of M.Tech (CSE) i.e. one is CSE and the other is Information Security. Placements are same for both the branches. Other branches in M.Tech have less placements even some have 0 placements. 85% of the CSE students placed last year. Out of 25 students, 20 students got placed this year. The highest salary this year is 22 LPA (Oracle) and the lowest till now is 5.6 LPA. Average salary is 8 LPA. Oracle, Cisco, Morgan Stanly, Directi and CDot are the most common and high packaged companies coming for recruitment. Internship is not allowed of M.Tech CSE students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is just average. A strict and discipline environment. WiFI is available in labs, library, etc. but not the whole college is covered. The college has an old building and hence, the classrooms are old too but are spacious. Medical facilities are good as an ambulance is always there in case of an emergency. The college is not so sport oriented, but if you are a sport lover then you can find enough clubs. Some hostel buildings are old too and the food of the hostel is edible.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good but there is a shortage of faculty members as some of the departments have less faculty members according to the need. Mostly CSE faculty members are from IITs. CSE, ECE and architecture department are very good in terms of faculty.

Other: The institute is located roughly 20kms away from the heart of the city. Frequent buses are available towards the city, and institute bus is also available twice a day. The infrastructure is reasonably good. A well-equipped computing center and a good library are present. As far as a research student or anyone with a research focus is concerned, NIT Calicut is one of the best places in the country to be. There is access to almost every important journal. All faculty is well exposed to their research area. Even master’s students are often able to come up with conference publications. As far as a postgraduate student or research student is concerned, the placement possibilities from this institute are quite less. Most of the time, the package offered is quite less. I personally felt that there is a shortage of permanent faculty in certain departments. Most of the faculty are Ph.D. holders. The teaching methods employed are primarily chalk and board type. The hostels are a bit old, but they are fine. In comparison with many other NIT's, the mess quality is much better. Most postgraduate students end up in research and other academic areas (I myself am doing PhD. at IISc Bangalore). So if your target is to pursue PhD., NIT will equip you with the right tools. I would recommend this institute to anyone who wants to pursue higher studies.

Other: The college has a combination of good faculty, facilities, infrastructure with a good academic atmosphere that makes it a unique institution for doing your academic establishments. Although comparing with undergraduate programs, placement opportunities are becoming less since the recent years. The institution holds good for students who continue their research works afterward. It is located in a place famous for food. The hostel facilities are on a back run as compared with the other national institutes for the post graduate students. The problems are concerning the areas like internet facilities in the hostel room, lack of mobile range, which I hope will be corrected immediately.

Other: NITC is situated in Calicut, Kerala. The campus is neat, clean and green. The faculties in NITC are having decades of research and teaching experience. Some of the faculties are visiting professors in abroad. They do have a bulk of books, publication and funded projects under them. The faculties are largely supported by the infrastructure in that college like labs, computer center, classrooms, presentation halls, grounds, hostels, etc. Moreover, the people in Calicut are so polite, kind and supportive. Overall the NITC was like another home for me. Placement: College arranges for the placement, if we are developing the required skill set, we can grab the opportunity. They do organize mock test & GD, PD courses, mock interviews, etc. Celebration: Students take every opportunity to celebrate. They celebrate every day.
