NIT Warangal BTech Highlights 2026
BTech is the flagship course of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal. It is an undergraduate programme, which is offered across 10 specialisations by the institute. Some of the specialisations in which the course is offered are biotechnology, computer science & engineering, mathematics & computing, etc. The duration of NIT Warangal BTech courses is four years and they are divided into eight semesters. The course curriculum is different for each specialisation.
NIT Warangal BTech course admission is done based on JEE Main rank. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores are further required to take part in JoSAA counselling for seat allotment. A cutoff rank is released separately for each round of counselling. Further, if the seats are left vacant after JoSAA counselling, then those are filled through the CSAB counselling process. Furthermore, admission seekers must check the minimum eligibility criteria. If a student is found ineligible at any admission stage, then the institute shall hold the right to cancel admission.

NIT Warangal Application Process 2026
To apply for BTech at NIT Warangal, students must visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to apply for JEE Main. The -wise application process for JEE Main is given below:
1: Open the JEE official website (nta.ac.in).
2: Click on the “JEE Main 2025 Registration” link.
3: Fill in the required details and click on the “Submit” button to complete the registration. After the completion of the JEE Main registration process, students will receive an email and message in their registered email ID and mobile phone number with details of the application form number and password. Students will need to keep safe/save the details of registration.
4: After completion of registration, students will be redirected to the page for filling out the detailed application form. In this, students have to provide details of educational qualifications, parents' details, address of communication and permanent address, and exam centre preference.
5: Upload scanned images of passport-size photographs and signature
6: Pay the application fee
7: The application form will be automatically submitted after the successful payment of the application fees.
2: Selection Rounds
Students are selected based on their JEE Main score and past academic records. JoSAA releases the opening and closing ranks for the course admissions. Students with scores equal to or more than the released cutoff become eligible for seat allotment.
3: Counselling Process
After the JEE result declaration, students who meet the cutoff marks for the institute need to register for JoSAA counselling. After the counselling rounds, in case seats are left vacant, then those are filled through CSAB counselling.

NIT Warangal seat allotment is done based on the JEE Main rank and category of the candidate. There are a total of 1049 seats for NIT Warangal BTech courses (including female supernumerary seats). Yes, it is mandatory to pass the PI round conducted by NIT Warangal for admission in MBA. Those who are selected on the basis of CAT/ MAT scores are further called for PI round for final selection. The college prepares the final merit list based on performance of the candidates in both entrance test
