Q:   How can I get admission in St Francis Institute of Technology?
A:

To get admission into Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT), follow these  steps:

1. Give MHT-CET or JEE Main exam: For admission into SFIT, you need a score of MHT-CET or JEE Main.

2. Apply through cAP Round: Fill your choices for SFIT under the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) run by the state government of Maharashtra.

3. Document Verification and Submit Fees: Once you get the seat, complete the required document verification and submit the college fees.

Q:   Is St Francis Institute of Technology Tier 1 or Tier 2?
A:

St. Francis Institute of Technology is an Tier 2 engineering college. This one boasts quality and infrastructure in education. However, it definitely does not come anywhere close to the IITs or the NITs, which are as good as it gets. SFIT is an excellent place to learn if one values quality education within the frame work of infrastructure and industry relationships. For students hailing from Mumbai, it is a good option. However, it usually does not offer the same national profiles or cut-offs as the best institutions, which classifies it in the Tier 2 category.

AskShikshaGPT on App
Q:   What can students do after JEE Main session 2 result?
A:

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced

My college placements and events are the best.
Placements: Placements for the mechanical course are more as compared to other branches. XS CAD, Mahindra and Mahindra, Blue Star, and Voltas are some of those companies that hire many students in the placement drive. The college teachers also make sure each student does internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is decent. Labs are well-developed specifically the mechanical labs. Wi-Fi works very well. The canteen food is very nice. Sports and events are much better than other colleges. Medical facilities are good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They help very well before exams and all teachers are knowledgeable. Our head of the department is also nice and he is familiar to us. It is an autonomous college so we just have to bring 40 marks out of 100 and that is easy. There is no pressure to pass exams.

There is a good ROI. It is a great college.
Placements: Placements are good here. ROI is also pretty much good. Computer and IT courses get the best placement offers amongst all other branches. The highest salary package offered to these students can be up to 18 LPA-19 LPA. Then EXTC students get the highest salary packages. They get software jobs also with a decent salary package. There are new branches, i.e., mechanical and electrical. They are relatively newer branches in this college, but they also get some decent offers. These students are also trained in coding, so they crack software interviews.
Infrastructure: The college building is beautifully built, and the lush green campus is an extra advantage. It feels like we are in some garden, and it is really soothing. The hostel is very near to the college. There are sufficient amenities for hostel students. The fee is also affordable, but there is no mess. The labs for all the departments are quite good. The mechanical labs are one of the best, and they are upgrading them continuously. There are a 3D printer, CNC machine and all the equipment.
Faculty: The best thing about SFIT is its professors, and any student of SFIT would agree with that. They are always supportive and helpful. They taught us and even supported us in the online teaching period by guiding and providing notes in every possible.
Other: Fests are organised in this college. They are pretty much good but not much great. There are no drama, singing or dance clubs. The gym is also not much great. Sports aren't given much importance here.

Absolutely satisfied and no regrets.
Placements: It is a christian college. What does that mean? A very strong social network, I have seen a lot of seniors who are in their 7th semester and they already have their placements. Mechanical is a relatively new branch so around 40% of the seniors have been placed. Its not well not for its placements like other colleges like DJ sanghvi or Thakur but it is relatively very good.
Infrastructure: While the college is mostly clean and decent infrastructure, it could've been better. Labs are good but classrooms aren't very comfortable for taller students like for those around 6 feet. Every class has a projector, a blackboard and a whiteboard so that's cool but nothing hi-tech yet. Classes have ACs but not the corridors. A bit lackluster indoor sports but outdoor sports facilities are great.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and they have very good subjective and practical knowledge. They try their best to teach us even in this online mode. The course curriculum is just the same as Mumbai University which honestly, has very little to no practical application. Exam difficulty is just as our mu so not any different, people who can study a bit or put in bare minimum efforts can pass so at least 90% of the students pass.
Other: I chose mechanical because I have a passion for automobiles and especially f1 cars. This college provided me with a very good opportunity to work on manufacturing a go-kart. Events were pretty great as well. We have a dedicated team of students that help or organize such events .

The college has good faculty and placements, and I am satisfied with SFIT.
Placements: The placements in SFIT are quite good. The highest package in 2021 was around 18 LPA. The guy who secured this is a master coder. This year also witnessed the placements of the 1st batch of students of mechanical and electrical branches. It was observed that the core branch students were even able to crack software interviews. It is because sufficient training was provided by the TPO, and also there were seminars and various lectures for core students about coding. I feel that it is very thoughtful of them.
Infrastructure: There are 2 buildings on campus. One was built some years back, and the other one is relatively new. Both of them are quite good. The classrooms are good and are equipped with the newest teaching technology, and so are the labs (software as well as core labs). The only thing which is a little disheartening is that the canteen is a bit congested. The library is well-equipped. The playground is a bit small.
Faculty: The best thing about SFIT, which every student or ex-student will agree, is that the teaching faculty here are the best. They are very cordial and understanding and are always ready to help. They try to provide in-depth knowledge of every subject to the students. The classroom teaching is accompanied by presentations and practicals.
Other: The annual fest is quite good, but SFIT gives more importance to academics. So, not many students participate in the fest, but more or less, the fests are enjoyable.

SFIT has a great value of money.
Placements: Students from the computer, IT, and EXTC are having great placements. The highest salary package offered in 2021 was 18 LPA. The first batch of mechanical and electrical students is yet to get placed. TPO is quite helpful and co-cordial. Training for placements is given to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. The classrooms are quite big, and the campus is quite lush and green. The practical labs are good. The newly developed mechanical and electrical labs too are great. They have the necessary the latest machines and equipment.
Faculty: The best thing about SFIT is its faculty. They are the best. They are quite helpful and approachable. The teachers of newly started mechanical and electrical branches are very knowledgeable and helpful. I interact with them during the fests and are quite friendly.

Students also asked

Q:   Which is the best course at St Francis Institute of Technology?
A:

The best course at St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT) is basically according to the student's interest. Among all these, Computer Engineering and IT are the most competitive as well as sought after courses. These branches have a good placement record, too, with top companies like TCS, Capgemini, and Cognizant recruiting students graduating from here. Students from these departments receive more attractive packages than others. In addition to this, the industry is highly in need of IT professionals, so these courses are in demand. But the course is also quite good for Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (EXTC) because it provides them with proper technical exposure.

Q:   What entrance exam scores are accepted by St Francis Institute of Technology for admission M.tech.?
A:

St. Francis Institute of Technology accepts the GATE score for its M.Tech courses. GATE is the entrance exam applied to judge the candidates in different engineering disciplines for the majority of M.Tech courses at SFIT. Unless and until a candidate has a valid GATE score, they are not eligible for counseling and allotment of seats. Besides the score, the candidates with valid GATE scores get priority in admission. However, some institutes also screen their admissions based on the merit acquired in academics for specific M.Tech specializations.

Q:   Is St Francis Institute of Technology best in Mumbai?
A:

St. Francis Institute of Technology, SFIT, has managed to earn a position among the good engineering colleges in Mumbai for quality teaching, infrastructure and placement opportunities for students. It may not be on top at all times, but the institution is always good enough in terms of student satisfaction as well as campus recruitments. SFIT is basically an institute with engineering orientation and most of them prefer it for internship programs for students afterwards being placed in industries. However, whether this is the best depends upon individual preference, as there are other top colleges like IIT Bombay, VJTI, and Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, which also hold high regard in Mumbai.
