NID DAT 2026 B.Des Rechecking Process is for students who have given the NID Prelims exam and Mains Exam. It opens for a period of 2-3 days and candidates are given the option to get their scorecard rechecked. NID Mains Rechecking Window for NID B.Des 2026 Mains was open after result declaration.
NID B.Des rechecking window for Studio Sensitivity Test (B.Des Mains) was active from May 26, 2026, 4 PM till May 28, 2026, 11:59 PM. Candidates were given an opportunity to get their B.Des Final result rechecked.

What is NID DAT B.Des Rechecking Window?
NID DAT Rechecking Window is an option given to the candidates to get their NID results rechecked. The rechecking checks whether all the answers have been marked, totalling of marks and transfering of marks. A nominal fee of INR 2,000 is charged for the rechecking process. NID B.Des rechecking process does not include a re-evaluation of the answer booklet.

The re-check window for the DAT Prelims was open soon after the results were out. The candidate has to apply for re-check online.
If, after the re-check, it is found that there are totalling errors or some answers have not been marked, the correction is made. In that case, the candidate was issued a new scorecard.
The candidate had to download the new scorecard online from the download portal.
The results of DAT Prelims for B.Des will be tentatively declared on April 02, 2027, while results for the M.Des programme are expected to be declared on February 12, 2027.
Admission to the B.Des and M.Des programs at the NIDs is conducted through the NID DAT entrance exam.
The exam has two sub-exams - The candidate 1st appears in DAT Prelims, and if shortlisted has to appear in DAT Mains.
The final merit list for NID DAT will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
Also, if a candidate doen't appear in DAT Mains, he or she will not be considered for admission.
The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des programme will include a Studio Test. Meanwhile, the DAT Mains for the M.Des programme includes a Studio Test and Interview.
Cut-off for NID Entrance exam will be prepared based on factors like the total number of applications, seat intake for the applied programme, category under which admission is sought, and merit rank of the applicant in NID DAT. Each of these factors is a variable. For example, the number of applications may vary from one category to another. Cut-off would also vary. The cut-off represents the minimum marks a candidate needs to secure in his or her category to get admission to the B. Des or M.Des programme.

What will be included in NID DAT B.Des Rechecking?
- Whether all the answers have been marked.
- Whether there has been any mistake in the totalling of marks for each question in Part II of the answer booklet, and in transferring the marks correctly onto the first cover page of the answer booklet.
- No other re-evaluation of the NID answer sheet or other work done by the candidate as a part of the examination will be carried out.
- No candidate, person or organisation is allowed to claim re-evaluation or disclosure or inspection of the answer scripts or copies of them and other documents, as these are treated as most confidential by the NID Admissions Cell.

Process for NID DAT B.Des Rechecking
Check out the process for rechecking of the NID result.
- Check all the totalling and transferring of the marks.
- If an error is there, go to the NID DAT Rechecking Window at NID website and upload what you want to be rechecked.
- Also upload your NID DAT Admit card signed by the invigilator.
- Pay the fee for the rechecking process.
What will happen if the error is found while NID DAT Rechecking?
On rechecking the answer booklet, if it is found that there is an error, the marks will be revised. The communication regarding the revision of marks, if any, will be sent to the requesting candidate's registered email ID.

If the fee payment window is closed by the institute, you will not be able to pay the seat-acceptance fee. Your seat will then be allocated to the next candidate in the order of merit. The token fees have to be paid within the given deadline.
NID DAT Prelims results for the M.Des program were announced on February 12, 2026. The result can be checked online at admissions.nid.edu.
Note that DAT Prelims result was released for all candidates who appeared in the exam.
The candidate can check DAT Prelims result by logging into the result portal using their email ID and date of birth.
The scores of the DAT Prelims exam will be used to shortlist candidates for DAT Mains.
The National Institute of Design will release the M.Des DAT Mains exam after the prelims results are declared.
The final results of NID DAT will be prepared by considering the weighted score of the candidate in DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Note that only such candidates who have qualified in DAT Prelims will be allowed to appear in DAT Mains. The National Institute of Design announces the weightage for the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
As per the official notification, the DAT Prelims will carry 40% and DAT Mains will carry 60% weightage for the B. Des programme. In case of M.Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 30% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 70% weightage.
The National Institute of Design has declared the final results of NID DAT 2026 for the B. Des and M.Des courses separately. NID B.Des Final Result 2026 was released on May 26, 2026 and for M.Des, it was released on April 23, 2026.
Other points related to NID DAT Rechecking Window
- The Institute will not be responsible for any loss or damage or any inconvenience caused to the candidate consequent to the revision of marks and no claims in this regard shall be entertained.
- The revised score after rechecking will be considered final.
- Any rechecking request will not be processed if submitted without a scanned copy of the NID Admit Card, duly signed by the invigilator and with the seal of the test centre.
- Rechecking requests will not be accepted over email and have to be submitted by the candidate online only at the website of NID.
- The fees for rechecking of NID DAT Prelims paper are Rs 2000/-.

NID Answer Sheet
The National Institute of Design will not release any answer keys and question booklets for the NID DAT 2026 exam. It will issue the individual NID DAT 2026 answer sheets to candidates. The answer sheets will be available after the declaration of NID DAT 2026 results. NID 2026 Answer sheets will be retained for one year after the final result is announced. Candidates can request their answer sheets only after the completion of the admission process, no requests will be entertained during the ongoing admission process.
Candidates wishing to obtain their answer sheets must make an online payment of around Rs 1000 per exam and submit their admit card, duly attested by the invigilator, with the seal of the test center.
