NID DAT Counselling will be conducted in the month of June-July 2026. The counselling will be conducted offline. It will be based on marks scored, rank allotted, cutoff and preference given for the campus. The popular question is how much I should score to get admission to NID. Is 60 Marks Enough for NID DAT?
The answer to the question," Is a 60 mark good for NID 2026?" is Yes, if you score 60 marks in NID, then you are likely to get admission into a top NID Institute. 60 marks is near to the cutoff score, so it is a good score for NID DAT Admission. For the General/Open Category, candidates should score between 60- 65 to clear the cutoff. To be on the safe side, candidates must score between 60 to 70.
For M.Des, candidates from the General Category should aim to score between 60-70 marks to get admission to the NID. So, 60 is near the NID cutoff marks, and it is good, but candidates should always add (+) 5 marks to the expected cutoff. So, to be on the safe side, consider 60+ for NID B.Des and M.Des. Candidates belonging to the OBC Category, for the M.Des programme, should have their score between 50 - 60 marks (expected). Other category candidates can hope to get a college lower than these marks.

National Institute of Design (NID) will release the NID DAT 2026 admission cut-off for the B.Des and M.Des programmes at the time of seat allotment, around May-June 2026. The cut-off will be released as the rank and score of the last candidate admitted to the M.Des program.

If there were any clashes of the interview dates with the college/ university exam, then candidates could inform the NID before February 23, 2026. Candidates needed to attach a copy of the timetable attested by the principal and a letter from the principal confirming that the examination dates clash with the interview.
