NTA NIFT Application Correction Window is closed now. It was open January 21, 2026 to Janaury 22, 2026. The window was open till 11:50 PM. NTA released the official notice regarding the dates and editable and non-editable items in the NIFTEE Registration form.
Application form for NIFT 2026 with late fees and regular fee is closed now. The application form was available at nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form was the same for all courses.

When applying for the exam, the candidate had to upload all the relevant documents in the prescribed format. NIFT Admission Process 2026
The admission process for NIFT 2026 is closed now with late fees. The NIFT 2026 exam will be conducted for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses.
NIFT entrance exam 2026 will be conducted in two stages.
- Stage 1 - The candidate will first take a written exam - NIFT CAT and NIFT GAT
- Stage 2 - If shortlisted, the candidate has to appear in NIFT Situation Test/ NIFT Personal Interview
The final result of NIFT 2026 will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exam and Situation Test/ PI.

The NIFTs are ranked among the top design colleges in India. As per India Today 2023 rankings for top fashion design colleges in India, the top 8 positions were occupied by NIFTs. In India Today 2022 rankings as well, the top eight positions were occupied by the NIFTs. Mock tests are not meant to be alternative to holistic exam preparation for NIFT. This means the candidate must first go through the text books, learn the concepts, solve the problem Sets given at the end of each chapter or from problem booklets, and take notes. Also, solve sample papers to develop ones problem-solving and time-management skills. The prime purpose of mock tests is to help the candidate get an exam-like experience and fix last minute gaps. NIFT 2026 Application Form - Document Required
The list of documents to be uploaded while applying for the NIFT 2026 exam is outlined below.
- Copy of Board / University Certificate as proof of Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s
- Name and Date of Birth
- Type of Identification–Bank A/c passbook with photograph /Passport Number/ Ration Card/
- Aadhaar Card Number/ Voter ID Card Number/ Other Govt ID
- Qualifying Degree Certificate or last semester marks sheet
- Your Mailing Address as well as Permanent Address with PIN code
- Four cities for Centres of your choice
- Category Certificate, if applicable
- Undertaking / Result Awaited Certificate, if applicable
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate, if applicable
- SC, ST, OBC (NCL) Certificate, if applicable

The NIFT CAT exam will be administered in an offline mode and will be a drawing-based exam. During the course of the exam, the candidate is not allowed to write any personal details and place identification marks. The CAT exam will evaluate the candidate on parameters like intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development, and design ability. To prepare for the CAT the candidate needs to work on geometrical shapes, product drawing, line quality, shading, human figures, principles of composition, etc. To improve ones figure drawing skills, one may stick drawing, before moving on to block drawing, and then evolving to add clothes and other items.
The information provided by the candidate when filling out the NIFT 2026 application form are verified by NIFT officials before any candidate is considered for admission in the first week of June.
The verification of original documents is conducted online.
Note that at the time of counseling registration, the candidate is required to upload documents.
Also, if the certificates are in any other language than Hindi/ English, then a certified translation in Hindi/ English produced duly verified by the issuing institution/ gazetted officer. If the candidate fails to produce the translation, the candidate may be denied admission.

What if I don’t follow NIFT 2026 application format?
The candidate may face several issues if they don’t follow the NIFT 2026 application form document guidelines. A few of them are explained here.

Candidates were given the option to edit the NIFT 2026 application form for a limited time period.
Using NIFT application edit option, candidate will be able to edit or correct some of the information in registration form. Some of the details the candidate can edit include name, date of birth, category, state domicile, etc. However, the candidate is not allowed to edit the exam city. The schedule for the application correction will be notified by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) at its admission portal - niftadmissions.in.
When filling NIFT 2026 application form, you will have to upload your Live photo, photograph and signature.

NID DAT and NIFT are two of the most important design entrance exams in the country. Both exams have a design aptitude test and many topics that overlap.
So, you can safely solve NID DAT sample papers as well. That being said you first job will be to complete the NIFT sample papers.
Good score for B.F.Tech is 95+ for General, 80 for OBC, 60 for SC/ST. The final result will be declared in June 2026.
How to fill NIFT Application Form 2026
To apply for the NIFT 2026 exam, candidates must follow the steps listed below.
- Create an applicant account - The candidate must use their Aadhaar details and get them verified. Next, they need to enter their email ID, mobile number, and parent’s name. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
- Fill in the application form - Log in to the newly created applicant account and fill in academic qualification, correspondence address, personal information, and other relevant details.
- Select NIFT 2026 test center - The list of available exam cities will be shown in the drop-down menu. Select the relevant city.
- Upload documents - You will have to upload documents per the given format and specification.
- Pay the application fee - Finally, pay the application fee of NIFT 2026 to complete the application process. Note that the application fee is category-specific. The application fee is non-refundable.

The application fee for NIFT is INR 2,000 (INR 500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). NIFT Application forms can also be filled with late fees. The late fee is INR 5,000.

Will there be a NIFT 2026 Application Form Correction Window?
Yes, NTA will allow candidates to edit the NIFT 2026 application form. NIFT correction window will open from January 21, 2026 to January 22, 2026. Using the correction window, the candidate can correct all particulars in the application form, except for the mobile number and email ID.

NID DAT, along with NIFT and UCEED are among the most competitive national-level entrance exams in the country. The fact that there are only 425 seats for the B. Des and 347 seats for the M.Des programme makes it very competitive. But that being said, if the candidate prepares well and with the correct strategy, then the NID DAT exam can be cracked. Yes, 40 is a good marks for NIFT B.Des 2026 this year (expected). For NIFT B.Des, General Category, 40 - 50 is the goodscore for the general category, for OBC, it will be around 30, for SC/ST, it will be around 30.

NIFT Admit Card 2026
NTA will release the NIFT 2026 admit cards separately for the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.
The admit card will be released for all candidates who complete the NIFT 2026 application process. The admit card has to be downloaded online from the NTA portal using one’s application number and date of birth.
On the day of the NIFT 2026 exam, the candidate needs to bring with them the admit card and a valid photo ID proof. Without these documents, the candidate will not be allowed inside the exam center. The admit card will carry details like the candidate’s name and roll number, date and time of the exam, name and address of the exam center, and exam-day guidelines.

There is no fixed number of mock tests one should take before the NIFT Entrance Exam. A candidate should take at least one mock test daily for the NIFT Entrance Preparation. 10-15 mock tests will really help in preparing for the exam.
