Overview

UCEED Mock Test 2026 - IIT Bombay allowed the candidates to practice for the UCEED Entrance Exam through UCEED Sample Interface in 2026 entrance exam. In this, candidates can practice the sample papers for the entrance exam to get the feel of the exam.

UCEED mock tests help candidates get accustomed to UCEED 2026 question paper structure, navigation, marking, and answering process. The mocks also help to eliminate silly errors and give finishing touches to preparation.

UCEED question paper will be of three hours.
Question paper will be in English only.
UCEED 2026 Exam has two parts: Part A will be conducted online, while Part B will be held offline.
Question paper will carry a total of 300 marks.
UCEED Entrance exam will have 57 Questions in Part A and 2 questions in Part B.

IIT Bombay gave an option to candidates to practice for the exam by releasing UCEED Sample Exam Interface. The purpose of this interface was to provide a feel of an examination interface. It was available for candidates to practice for exam. It was available at digialm.com/OnlineAssessment.

Q: What types of questions will be asked in UCEED 2026?

The UCEED exam will have two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A will include Numerical Answer Type NAT Multiple Select Question (MSQ), Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Meanwhile, Part B will include drawing and aptitude-based questions. Note that in the previous edition of the exam, Part B include only sketching-based question. So, starting UCEED 2024, the candidate also needs to prepare for aptitude based questions that will be asked in Part B. Questions for the aptitude section will evaluate the ability of the candidate to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

Q: What kind of questions will be asked from the UCEED 2026 visualization and spatial reasoning section?

Visual and spatial reasoning section of UCEED will include pictorial and diagrammatic questions that will evaluate candidates' understanding of the transformation and manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships. The candidate needs to practice the following topics to prepare for the section: Conventional/Unconventional Materials for Construction, Design, and Decoration Texture Making Materials, Production Materials, Decoration Materials - Flooring, Cladding (protective material which covers the surface of something), Wall Protection and Decoration - Paints, Plasters, etc. Pattern and Design of Paper Folding Materials and Type of Texture Optical Illusion (2D/3D objects and understanding).

To practice mock tests, the candidate is urged to solve question papers for UCEED 2026. Question papers will contain the same types of questions that will be asked in the UCEED 2026 exam. IIT Bombay generally doesn’t conduct any mock tests for the UCEED exam. IIT Bombay released the question paper for the UCEED 2026 exam. Question paper is released alongside the draft answer key, a day or two after the conduct of the entrance exam. How to practice for UCEED Exam using sample Interface?

Candidates can practice on UCEED exam interface by following the instructions given below.

Interface is designed to run on a desktop browser. It may not work on tablets or other mobile devices.
Lgin details are already filled in. To begin, click on the Sign In button and follow the instructions.
On the sample interface, the candidate can check how to answer a question, how to go to the next question, how to mark a question for reviewing later, etc.
To see Part-B of the sample/practice exam, the candidate must wait for 30 minutes.

UCEED 2026 exam is expected to have two parts: 1) Part A, which will be 1 hour long, include objective-type questions, and will be conducted in computer-based mode; 2) Part B will be conducted offline and include a single sketching-based question.
Mock test will be conducted entirely online.
UCEED 2026 mock tests will contain the same types of questions as those asked in the actual exam.
Mock test may contain fewer questions than those asked in the actual exam; for instance, Part A of UCEED 2026 will have around 57 questions, but the mock test may have 40 questions.

Process to take the UCEED Mock Test 2026

The following steps should be followed to take the UCEED 2026 Mock Tests.

To take the test, click on the mock test link that is given on the UCEED admission portal.
Upon logging in, the general guidelines for taking the mock tests will be displayed on the screen. Read the guidelines carefully.
Accept the terms and conditions, and the test paper for Part A will appear on the screen.
Part B test will be shown after you complete Part A.
You can edit all your answer options using the answer tabs, if you submit the paper, you can’t make any changes.
You can keep track of the test by consulting the timepieces that are displayed on the screen.
Note that there will be different color palettes (shown on the right side of the screen) indicating the status of the question.

Navigating to a Question

To answer a question, candidates need to perform the following steps.

Click on the UCEED question number in the Question Palette at the right of their screen to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this option does not save the answer to the current question.
Click on the Save & Next button to save the answer for the current question and then go to the next question.
Click on the Mark for Review & Next button to save the answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question.

Answering a Question

Procedure for answering a multiple-choice type question.

To select your answer, click on the button of one of the options
To deselect the selected answer, click on the button of the chosen option again, or click on the 'Clear Response' button
To change the chosen answer, candidates need to click on the button of another option
To save the answer, aspirants must click on the Save & Next button
To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button.
To change the answer to a question that has already been answered, first select that question for answering and then follow the procedure for answering that type of question.

Navigating through Sections

Sections in the UCEED question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen. Questions in a section can be viewed by clicking on the section name. The section one is currently viewing is highlighted.
After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a section, candidates will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section of the UCEED sample paper.
Aspirants can shuffle between sections and questions anytime during the examination, as per their convenience, only during the time stipulated.
Candidates can view the corresponding section summary as part of the legend that appears in every section above the question palette.

Q: What is the best time to take UCEED 2026 mock tests?

The official mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few weeks before the UCEED 2026 exam. So, you shouldn’t typically take mock tests at the start or even middle of your UCEED 2026 exam preparation. The logic being mock tests are not designed to help you improve your problem-solving ability or your time-management skills. In fact, mock tests are meant to help you get a exam like ambience before the exam and understand what is like to be inside the exam centre.

That being said, mock tests designed by some coaching institutes are more comprehensive and might help you build problem-solving ability and time-management skills.

Q: Can I take mock tests of other entrance exams to prepare for UCEED 2026?

IIT Bombay usually doesn’t conduct any mock tests for the UCEED exam. So, the candidate may take mock tests conducted for other entrance exams to prepare for UCEED 2026 exam. The candidate may note that in this case the mocks will help them understand how an online exam is administered and the navigation process. However, it is not an exact replica of how the UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted.

Yes, you need to qualify UCEED Part A to be included in the UCEED Merit List.

UCEED Part B question paper is not evaluated unless the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A are shortlisted and are allocated a merit rank. In case of candidates who have failed to qualify Part A of UCEED, they are not issued any merit rank. Their scorecard merely includes Part A scores. In case of candidates who are shortlisted and are issued a merit rank, they can participate in UCEED and seat allotment.

UCEED 2026 Mock Test Sectional Break-Up

The UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted in TWO parts. Part A will be a computer-based exam. Meanwhile, Part B will be an offline exam. Interestingly, Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies for Part A.

Yes, to sit in the Joint Counselling Process conducted by IIT Bombay, you must fill the B.Des Application. It is a common application form for admission to the BDes programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur.

IIT Bombay had released a notification on its official website notifying that the UCEED exam starting in 2024 will be conducted following a revised syllabus. Q: What will be mode of Part A paper for UCEED 2026?

Part A paper of UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted in a computer based mode. So, candidate must know the basics of computer handling to take the exam. Note that advanced knowledge of software and hardware is not needed to take the paper. Note that in the scenario, there is a technical issue during the exam, the candidate may approach the invigilator for assistance. The invigilator will then take remedial steps to fix the problem. If the problem persists, the candidate will be assigned a different computer terminal.
