UCEED Mock Test 2026: Step-wise Process, Understanding Color palette and Time Management

The official mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few weeks before the UCEED 2026 exam. So, you shouldn’t typically take mock tests at the start or even middle of your UCEED 2026 exam preparation. The logic being mock tests are not designed to help you improve your problem-solving ability or your time-management skills. In fact, mock tests are meant to help you get a exam like ambience before the exam and understand what is like to be inside the exam centre. 

That being said, mock tests designed by some coaching institutes are more comprehensive and might help you build problem-solving ability and time-management skills. 

IIT Bombay usually doesn’t conduct any mock tests for the UCEED exam. So, the candidate may take mock tests conducted for other entrance exams to prepare for UCEED 2026 exam. The candidate may note that in this case the mocks will help them understand how an online exam is administered and the navigation process. However, it is not an exact replica of how the UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted.

The mock tests are to be taken in the last few weeks before the UCEED exam. Avoid taking mock tests when you are starting preparation for the exam.

The mock tests are meant to serve the following functions:

• The mock tests for UCEED may help the candidate get acquainted with the functionalities of the exam.  

• Given Part A of the UCEED exam will be conducted in online mode, the mock tests will help the candidate get familiar with the navigation process, say from one section to another. 

• By taking the mock tests, the candidate will learn about the types of questions asked in the actual exam. 

• Mock tests will also help the candidate get into exam mode, learn how to handle different situations, including exam pressure, etc.

IIT Bombay generally doesn’t conduct any mock tests for the UCEED exam. However, if it does conduct any mock tests for the exam, it will include similar type of questions to the ones asked in the entrance exam. This means, the questions will be of the same difficulty level, and will cover the same topics. That being said the mock test may contain fewer number of questions that the actual exam.

By taking the mock tests, the candidate will be able to learn the navigation process and also give final touches to one’s UCEED preparation.

No, you do not log in ID to download the UCEED Question Paper. It is uploaded online at the UCEED-IIT Bombay admission portal UCEED. Iitb. AC. In. 

IIT Bombay will release the question paper for the UCEED 2026 exam tentatively in the 4th week of January 2026. Typically, the question paper is released along side the draft answer key, a day or two after the conduct of the entrance exam. The candidate can download the question paper online. No log-in is required to download the question paper. Simply click on the question papers link; the question paper will open in downloadable pdf format. IIT Bombay had released a notification on its official website notifying that the UCEED exam starting in 2024 will be conducted following a revised syllabus. As per the revised syllabus, there has also been some changes to the UCEED exam pattern. For instance, the Part B question paper will now include two questions - 1) one question will be on Drawing and 2) the other question will be on Design Aptitude. Note that previously, Part B included a solitary, drawing-based question. Also, the time duration for Part B has been increased to 60 minutes from 30 minutes.

IIT Bombay released the detailed exam pattern for UCEED 2026 on October 01, 2025. The exam pattern will be outlined in the information brochure for the UCEED 2026 exam. The candidate will be able to download the brochure online at UCEED. Iitb. AC. In. Note that no log-in is required to download the information brochure. Visual and spatial reasoning section of UCEED will include pictorial and diagrammatic questions that will evaluate candidates' understanding of the transformation and manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships. The candidate needs to practice the following topics to prepare for the section: Conventional/Unconventional Materials for Construction, Design, and Decoration Texture Making Materials, Production Materials, Decoration Materials - Flooring, Cladding (protective material which covers the surface of something), Wall Protection and Decoration - Paints, Plasters, etc. Pattern and Design of Paper Folding Materials and Type of Texture Optical Illusion (2D/3D objects and understanding).

The UCEED exam will have two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A will include Numerical Answer Type NAT Multiple Select Question (MSQ), Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Meanwhile, Part B will include drawing and aptitude-based questions. Note that in the previous edition of the exam, Part B include only sketching-based question. So, starting UCEED 2024, the candidate also needs to prepare for aptitude based questions that will be asked in Part B. Questions for the aptitude section will evaluate the ability of the candidate to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

UCEED 2026 question paper will have two parts: 1. computer-based Part A and 2. Drawing and aptitude based Part B.

Some of topics to prepare for UCEED are given below.

• Visualization and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
• Practical and scientific knowledge: Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects. 
• Observation and design sensitivity: Capacity to detect concealed properties in day-to-day life and think critically about them. Attention to details, classification, analysis, inference and prediction.
• Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social and cultural connections with design.
• Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information.
• Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English .
• Creativity: Grasp of verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols.

Part A paper of UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted in a computer based mode. So, candidate must know the basics of computer handling to take the exam. Note that advanced knowledge of software and hardware is not needed to take the paper. Note that in the scenario, there is a technical issue during the exam, the candidate may approach the invigilator for assistance. The invigilator will then take remedial steps to fix the problem. If the problem persists, the candidate will be assigned a different computer terminal.

If IIT Bombay conducts any mock tests for UCEED 2026 exam, it will be hosted online at uceed.iitb.ac.in. So, to take mock tests, candidate will have to go to the UCEED - IIT Bombay admission portal and click on mock test link. 

On clicking on the mock test link, a log-in window will open. It is likely that the log-in id will be prefilled. So, all you need to start the do is click on the log-in button to access the mock tests. After logging in, click on the “Start” tab to start the mock test.

The sample paper will contain similar types of questions to the ones asked in UCEED exam. So, by solving them, candidates will be able to develop problem-solving and time-management skills.

Another thing is previous years' questions papers help to understand the types of questions asked, marking scheme, difficulty level, etc. 

IIT Bombay will notify about any mock tests for UCEED on its official website. Also, there is unlikely that the candidate will have any option to ask any queries during the mock test, provided the mock test is conducted at all. The candidate simply will be able to take the mock test by following the mock test given on the UCEED admission portal.

The mock test will include questions similar to the ones that will be included in the actual exam. So, by taking the mock tests, the candidate will be able to finetune their preparation for the UCEED exam. 

Mock tests are useful only when you take them closer to the exam. They are also by no means an integral part of one’s exam preparation in the early stages. When you are starting off your preparation and reach until the mid stage, all you need are test books, sample papers, and the notes you have taken. Once you have mastered the concepts and honed your problem-solving skills sufficiently, you can take the mock test. The mock tests at this stage will help you get acquainted with the exam process, especially the exam environment.

UCEED 2026 Application was open from October 01, 2025, on the official website. Last date to apply with regular fees was on November 05, 2025. Candidates who met the prescribed eligibility criteria were able to apply for admission.

The important topics for UCEED 2026 Part B are given below.

• Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.
• Design Aptitude Capability to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

The official mock tests for the UCEED exam are usually taken in the last few days leading up to the exam. 

So, you can take 3-4 mock tests. The purpose of the mock tests are to help you get familiar with the exam ambience, the question paper structure, and the navigation process.

Unofficial mock tests are more readily available and can be taken at anytime. However, the site offering unofficial mock tests may charge you a fee for taking their mock tests. 

The candidate must focus more on solving sample papers to prepare for the UCEED exam. Note that unlike mock tests, sample papers can be used as exam preparation very early on in one’s exam preparation. 

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam on January 18, 2026 from 9 AM- 12 PM. UCEED Test was conducted at the centres. The reporting time was 7 AM.
