JEE Advanced 2017 registrations have commenced on the official website of the exam. The application window closes on May 2. However, students can apply for the exam with a late fee from May 3 (10:00 hrs) to May 4, 2017(17:00 hrs). Check JEE Advanced 2017 important dates here.

To register, aspirants can visit - http://jeeadv.nic.in/jeeadvapp/root/loginpage.aspx

While Indian students need to register for JEE Advanced using their JEE Main Roll No. and Password, foreign candidates will be needing their Login IDs and Password. These students can also register directly for the exam without their Login Id.

To register for JEE Advanced 2017, students need to follow few simple steps:

Step 1:

  • JEE Main 2017 Qualified Candidates: These students can login with their Roll No and JEE Main Password and fill the online JEE Advanced registration form.
  • Foreign Candidates (Direct Apply): These aspirants can fill the online registration form and note down their Login ID and Password.

Step 2: At this step, aspirants need to upload their scanned certificates.

  • Documents required by Indian candidates: Scanned certificates of Class X or DOB proof, Class XII (or equivalent) examination, Category, PwD,Scribe Request Letter,PIO Card / OCI Certificate,DS certificate as applicable in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Documents required by foreign aspirants: Photograph, signature and scanned certificates of Class X/DOB proof, Class XII (or equivalent) examination, Candidate's identity proof, Candidate's passport, Mother's passport, Father's passport,Testimonial as applicable in JPG/JPEG.format

Size of documents to be uploaded:

  • Photograph: Size must be greater than 4 KB and less than 10 KB.
  • Signature: Size must be greater than 1 KB and less than 30 KB.
  • Certificate image: Size must be greater than 100 KB and less than 300 KB.

The third and the final step is to pay the registration fee. The fee can be paid by SBI Debit or Credit card or by cash using SBI branch option.

SAARC and Non-SAARC candidates can pay the registration fee through any International Debit/Credit Card issued by Foreign Banks and issued outside India. Payments made in US$ is not allowed through Debit/Credit Cards issued in India.

After successful payment of the fees, aspirants will be able to print the “Registration Details” with Unique Registration Number.

JEE Advanced 2017 exam is scheduled to be held on May 21 in 2017. Moreover, from this year, 20,000 more aspirants will be eligible to write JEE Advanced, thus taking the total up to 2,20,000. However, these candidates should have appeared and and secured the minimum JEE Main cut off required to appear for JEE Advanced.

In the year 2016, as many as two lakh students took JEE Advanced. In the coming year, there is a projected increase of 500 seats at IITs.

JEE Advanced 2017 will be organised and conducted by IIT Madras.

JEE Advanced 2017 cut-offs

If sources are to be believed, the aggregate cut-off marks in Class XII for SC and ST candidates has been reduced to 65% from 70%. Basis the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, OBC-NCL certificates issued after April 1 will also be considered valid for JEE Advanced 2017.

Hassle free JEE Advanced 2017 registration process

Students appearing for the exam in 2017 can expect a less strenuous and hassle free JEE Advanced registration process. One of the decisions taken at the JAB meeting was that from the next year, the process of JEE Advanced registration, fee payment, result announcement and choice filling etc will be student friendly, making the entire process easy and convenient. Aspirants would be able to use features like short video tutorial and SMS services extensively during the process.

MHRD to launch 3 dedicated channels for IIT JEE preparations

From next year, Class XII marks will not be required for JEE Main & Advanced rank determination. Subsequently, JEE Advanced 2017 will be going international and will be held simultaneously in 10 countries .

NAT may replace JEE Main & also cover medical, pharma and law course admissions

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission
