JoSAA 2019: IITs launch new BTech & Dual Degree courses; Know cutoffs
To address the gap between the ever-growing demand of the job market and the curriculum followed by engineering institutes in India, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) - from the academic year 2019 - have launched various BTech and dual degree programmes. For instance, IIT Hyderabad (IIT H), one of the newer IITs, launched India’s first BTech degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI). IIT H is the third institute in the world to offer such a course.
Till 2018, the 5-year BArch programme was only being offered by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee. However, from 2019, IIT (BHU) Varanasi too will have the course on offer. One of the older IITs, IIT Bombay too has introduced two new 5 year BTech- MTech dual degree courses in Electrical Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science.
