What is BITSAT?
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is an entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Admissions are offered annually to the candidates into BE, BPharm and MSc programmes after qualifying for the admission test. The entrance exam is conducted online and around 3 lakh students apply for it every year.Â

BITSAT 2024 Application Form
BITSAT 2024 application form will be released online. Candidates will have to fill out and submit the application form of BITSAT 2024 before the final date. The step-by-step reference to fill out and submit the BITSAT application form 2024 is given below.
- Registration: In the first step, the candidates will have to visit bitsadmission.com and click on the registration link. The registration has to be done by providing a valid email id and mobile number.Â
- Filling out the form: After the successful registration, the candidates will have to fill out their personal, communication and academic details in the BITSAT 2024 application form. All of the details have to be valid. The candidates will also be required to select three exam centres, in the order of their preference.
- Uploading of documents: In the next step, the candidates will have to upload scanned images of photographs and signatures in the prescribed format. If the uploaded documents are not as per the official specifications, then it will not be accepted.
- Payment of application fee: After entering all the details and uploading the documents, the candidates will have to pay the BITSAT 2024 application fee online i.e., through net banking, credit, or debit cards or UPI.
- Submission of the form: After fee payment, the candidates will have to submit their BITSAT application form. They are required to check all the details and documents before final submission.
BITSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Before commencing the registration process, the candidates are advised to check the official BITSAT 2024 eligibility criteria. If the candidates are not able to meet the eligibility criteria, then they will disqualified from the admission process.
For admission to any of the First Degree programmes of BITS except BPharm (Hons): Â
- The candidates should have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English.
- Should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
For admission to BPharm (Hons):Â Â
- Should have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCMB in Class 12 can also apply for the Pharmacy programme at BITS campuses.
- The candidates should have obtained a minimum aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Maths, if they are PCMB students) subjects.
Additional Eligibility Criteria to Keep in Mind:
- Only students who are appearing for the 12th standard examination in 2024 or have passed in 2021 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT 2024. Students who have passed their Class 12 examination in 2020 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT 2024.
- If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12th standard or its equivalent, only his/her latest performance will be considered, provided this attempt had been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
- Candidates who are presently studying in any of the BITS campuses will not be eligible to appear for BITSAT 2024.
- Admissions will be made purely on a merit basis. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT 2024. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the Class 12 board exam, as mentioned above.
Q: Â When will BITSAT 2024 application form process begin?
BITSAT 2024 application form dates will be announced soon. The authorities will release the BITSAT application form 2024 at the official website - bitsadmission.com. Candidates will have to fill out and submit the application form of BITSAT 2024 before the final date. The authorities will not accept applications after the last date. Separate applications will be accepted for the different phases of BITSAT 2024.
Q: Â What is the age criteria for BITSAT?
According to the official BITSAT eligibility criteria, there is no specific age criteria for the candidates to participate in the BITSAT admission process. However, the candidates should have completed their 12th standard qualifying examination in 2023 or 2024. The candidates who have passed 12th standard in 2020 and earlier will not be eligible for BITSAT 2024. BITSAT application form has to be filled out online at bitsadmission.com. No other mode of application will be accepted by the authorities. Q: Â I passed class 12th with less than 75% aggregate in PCM. Am I eligible for BITSAT if I reappeared in the class 12 exam to improve my marks?
Yes. Candidates who are appearing for the 12th standard qualifying entrance examination on the admission year will be considered eligible for admissions through BITSAT. However, the candidates will be required to meet the basic BITSAT eligibility criteria that will be prepared and released by the authorities. If the candidates are allotted, then they will be required to show their qualification and other necessary documents at the time of verification. Failure to show the documents will result in the cancellation of admission.
BITSAT 2024 Syllabus
The authorities will soon prepare and release the BITSAT 2024 syllabus. It is to be noted that the BITSAT syllabus will be similar to that of the 11th and 12th standard NCERT syllabus. The topics of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, Logical Reasoning and English Proficiency have to be studied for BITSAT 2024. Candidates are advised to be familiar with the syllabus to be well-prepared for BITSAT 2024.
- Physics: Units & measurement, rotational motion, mechanics of solids, Heat & thermodynamics, rotational motion, etc.
- Chemistry: Atomic structure, states of matter, physical & chemical equilibrium, s & p-block elements, principles of organic chemistry, hydrocarbons, etc.

BITSAT 2024 Exam Pattern
BITSAT 2024 exam pattern gives the candidates information regarding how the entrance examination will be held. Before commencing the preparation, the candidates are advised to check the official BITSAT exam pattern 2024. By being familiar with the exam pattern, the candidates will be able to prepare for BITSAT 2024 with ease.
- Exam Mode: BITSAT 2024 will be conducted online (computer-based) only.
- No. of questions: There will be a total of 130 questions in the exam paper.
- Medium: The question paper will be in English.

The moderated scores will be available through the score card, while the obtained scores will be available immediately after the conclusion of the examination.
Q: Â How to check the marks scored in BITSAT?
Candidates will be able to check their obtained marks immediately after the conclusion of BITSAT. After the candidates complete the examination and submit their answers, the obtained scores will be displayed on the screen. The number of correct and incorrect answers along with the total obtained score will be available thorugh the BITSAT result. The candidates will be able to download their result in the form of a BITSAT scorecard later.
Q: Â Will BITSAT score card be available for download?
Yes. The candidates will be able to download the BITSAT 2024 scorecard. The authorities will release the moderated scores obtained in the examination through the BITSAT 2024 result/scorecard. To download the scorecard, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and password. No other mode will be used to release the BITSAT scorecard. The candidates will be required to download and print out the scorecard for future use.
BITSAT 2024 Counselling
BITSAT 2024 counselling will be conducted in the form of iterations. The institute will release an admission list and waitlist after each round. The authorities are expected to conduct seven rounds of BITSAT counselling in the form of iterations. Direct admissions will be given to all those students who obtained the first rank in their respective State/Central board exams, irrespective of their BITSAT 2024 Score. During the BITSAT counselling, the candidates will have to provide their basic details and submit their preferences.

Yes. 12th standard national and state board toppers who meet the basic eligibility criteria will be eligible to participate diretly in the BITSAT counselling. These candidates will be able to apply for direct admissions into the BE courses offered by the campuses of BITS. They will not be required to appear for BITSAT and admissions will be done based on their 12th standard qualifying entrance exmaination scores. Q: Â When will BITSAT counselling begin?
BITSAT 2024 counselling dates are yet to be announced. The official dates for the BITSAT counselling 2024 will be released after the result/score card is made available online. All qualified candidates will have to participate in the counselling process for admission into the participating campuses of BITS. The authorities will allot seats based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. All candidates will be required to confirm their admission before the final date.

BITSAT seat allotment result will be declared online at bitsadmission. Candidates will be able to check their BITSAT seat allotment status by logging in using their application number and password. No other mode will be used to release the seat allotment of BITSAT. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. Q: Â Is the BITSAT score mandatory for B.Pharma admission at BITS campuses?
Yes. For B.Pharma admissions into the BITS campuses, the candidates will require a valid BITSAT score. No other scores will be considered by the authorities for admissions into the B.Pharma courses offered by the participating campuses. However, 12th standard central/state board toppers will be offered direct admissions. These candidates can participate directly in the BITSAT counselling process. These candidates will have to meet the basic eligibility criteria for BITSAT admissions.
Q: Â Does any private college (except BITS) accept a BITSAT score for B.Tech admission?
No. BITSAT is held to select candidates for admissions into the participating campuses - Goa, Pilani and Hyderabad. The obtained scores in the entrance examination will be used only for admissions into these institutes. No other colleges will accept BITSAT scores for admissions. After qualifying BITSAT, the candidates will have to participate in the counselling process for admissions into the undergraduate engineering courses offered by the Goa, Pilani or Hyderabad campus. Candidates are advised to check the admission criteria carefully before applying for BITSAT.
Q: Â I have taken Physics Chemistry and Biology in 10+2. Am I Eligible to Apply for BITSAT?
Yes. The candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology for their 10+2th standard qualifying examination will be eligible to apply for BITSAT. However, these candidates will only be eligible for B.Pharma admissions. Since BTech/BE admissions require Mathematics as a compulsory subject, the candidates who have opted for Biology in their 10+2th standard examination will not be able to apply for the engineering entrance examination.
