The BITSAT attempt rule is also an important factor in the BITSAT eligibility criteria. BITS, Pilani, the exam conducting authority, has announced the attempt limit for BITSAT 2026. According to this, a candidate only has two attempts in two consecutive years. Now, every year, the institute conducts two sessions of the BITSAT exam. So a student actually has 4 attempts at the BITSAT exam.

For this year, the BITSAT 2026 exam date has been announced for both sessions 1 and 2. The BITSAT session 1 exam was scheduled for April 15 to 17, while session 2 is held for May 24 to 26.

How Many Attempts Are Allowed for BITSAT?

The Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS) Pilani conducts the BITSAT exam in two sessions in an academic year. Candidates have the choice to appear for any one or both sessions. No candidate is allowed to appear for BITSAT more than two consecutive years. If a student skips BITSAT in the first eligible year, then that chance is lost, leaving students with only a single year of appearing for the test.
