VITREE Counselling 2026: Check Dates, Scorecard, Counselling Process, Fees & more

Selected candidates must carry the following documents (original along with one photocopy set) to the VITREE 2026 admission counselling-

• Tuition fee receipt
• Class X mark sheet
• HSC/+2 mark sheet
• UG/PG degree/provisional degree certificate and year-wise semester-wise consolidated mark sheet.
• Transfer certificate/migration certificate or college leaving certificate
• Nativity certificate for North or Eastern state candidates
• Aadhaar card
• Physical fitness certificate (as per the format)
• Affidavit by parent and student (as per the format)
• Undertaking in the enclosed format
• Six recent colour-size passport photographs

VITREE 2026 counselling process is conducted online and comprises following process -

• Candidates first have to attempt and qualify for VITREE exam.
• Shortlisted applicants will be scheduled for a personal interview. The dates have been announced

• Selected students will have to select guide and submit by December 31.
• Lastly, candidates have to pay VITREE counselling fee and report allotted campus.

Instructions to be followed for selected PhD candidates in VITREE 2026 admission process

The VITREE 2026 exam result have been announced, students can check their qualifying status using their application number, password, and verification code. Here is the list of instructions that must be followed -

• Candidates have to make an online payment of INR 43000/- (annual tuition fee of INR 40000+ Caution deposit of INR 3000) on or before January 2, 2026.
• Selected applicants must contact the faculty member on email or phone to obtain their consent.
• One must complete their "student profile" and must submit anti-ragging affidavit.
• The fresher's login menu will be enabled for fee-paid candidates from January 3 to select guide at VTOP portal.
• Candidates can login to VTOP portal using their credentials and select faculty member on or before January 7, 2026.
• Students are also advised to activate their VIT Gmail account for further communications.
• Once the fee payment is completed, the selection process must be completed on or before January 9, 2026.

The selection process for PhD and Direct PhD are different. Shortlisting of applicants will be based on academic performance, written test, and personal interview. Check table for the details -

The VITREE 2026 selection process for PhD candidates is done based on the VITREE scores (January/July session), followed by PG degree marks, research proposal, and personal interview. On the other hand, the selection process for direct PhD candidates will be based on their performance in the exam, B.E/B.Tech degree marks, research proposal, and personal interview.

Vellore Institute of Technology will release the VITREE 2026 cutoff on its official website. Applicants can also check the cutoff at admissions.vit.ac.in. The authorities will release the cutoff after the admission process concludes. Candidates who meet the VITREE cutoff marks will be eligible for the counselling process.
