CTET Exam Date 2026 OUT: Exam Schedule, Timeline & Time Table

The Central Board of Secondary Education is going to conduct the CTET exam on February 8, 2026. The 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test will be held offline.

The CTET 2026 registration will start with the release of official notification. The CTET application form 2026 will have to be filled online. The CTET 2026 exam date has been announced by the CBSE. The CTET exam will be held on February 8, 2026 offline in pen and paper mode. The exam is conducted on a single day in two shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2. CTET full form is Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a national-level exam conducted every year to determine the eligibility of candidates to teach Classes 1 to 8 in central government schools such as KVS, NVS, etc. Passing the CTET exam is compulsory for aspirants who want to apply for teacher recruitment in government schools for Classes 1 to 8. 

The CTET exam is conducted on a single day in two shifts. The first shift is from 9:30 AM to 12 Noon and the second shift from 2:30 to 5:00 PM. 

CTET exam is of 2 hours 30 minutes duration for each paper. The CTET exam is conducted in two shifts on each exam date. The CTET Shift 1 starts from 9:30 am to 12 noon and Shift 2 is from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. The examination is conducted online in the computer-based test (CBT) mode in each shift. Candidates need to be present for the complete shift.

• Go to the 'Duplicate Marksheet & Certificate' link under e-Services.
• Click on the link given under '2011 to 2016' or '2018 & onwards'.
• Login using the registered mobile or Aadhaar number.
• Click on the Get Issued Documents link.
• Select CBSE >>> Teacher Eligibility Test Mark-sheet or Certificate.
• Enter the Roll Number and Year of passing.
• Click on get document link.

 

The CTET pre-admit card 2026 will be released around 10 days before the exam. Candidates need to download the pre-admit card or CTET city intimation slip 2026 using the application number, date of birth and security pin. The CTET pre-admit card is like an exam city intimation slip that contains only the name of allotted exam city. The name and address of exam centre were intimated through the CTET admit card 2026.

The CTET answer key is released in two phases by the CBSE Provisional and Final. The CTET provisional answer key is released soon after the exam concludes. Candidates can submit objections against the provisional answer key. The CTET final answer key is released after the analysis of objections received from candidates. However, the unofficial CTET answer key is released by various coaching centres soon after the exam shift concludes.

The CBSE issues the admit card in two phases- pre-admit card and main admit card. The CTET pre-admit card is released ten days before the examination and informs about the allotted exam date and city. The main admit card is issued two days before exam informing the exam date, time, reporting time, exam centre name and address.

The CTET answer key 2026 will be released after the conduct of the exam. The CTET 2026 answer key PDFs will be available for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET provisional answer key will be released as a login link on the official website- ctet.nic.in along with the OMR sheet and objection link.
