RRB ALP 2025: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) will soon announce RRB ALP 2025 exam dates for Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician vacancies. RRB ALP online application process (CEN 01/2025) closed on May 19, 2025. The last date to pay the application fee was May 21, 2025. The Railway Loco Pilot 2025 application form was released on April 12, 2025. RRB ALP notification was released to fill up a total of 9970 vacancies. Read below for more details on RRB ALP 2025 exam.

RRB ALP 2024 

RRB ALP admit card 2024 for DV released. The exam dates for DV and medical were announced earlier. The medical exam and document verification will be conducted from October 13 to 21, 2025. Earlier, the result was announced.

 

 

 

Q:   When RRB ALP Exam Dates 2025 (CEN 02/2025) will be announced?
A: 

RRB ALP exam dates 2025 (CEN 02/2025) for CBT 1 will be announced soon. The CBT 1 exam of RRB ALP comprises a total of 75 objective-type multiple choice questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, General Science and General awareness on current affairs. A total of 75 marks are allotted to the test. The duration of the test is 60 minutes.

Q:   When was RRB ALP 2025-26 application form released?
A: 

RRB ALP 2025-26 application form was released on April 12, 2025. The last date to fill the application form was extended till May 19, 2025. The application form and fee can be submitted online only. The application fee for the exam is INR 250 for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC) categories. Candidates belonging to other categories are required to pay INR 500.

What is RRB ALP exam?

Railway recruitment board (RRB) conducts RRB ALP & Technician exam to recruit Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician for different railway zones across the country. This is a national-level exam and lakh of candidates appear for it. RRB ALP selection process comprises two stages (first stage CBT and second stage CBT), which is common for ALP and Technician. In addition, candidates who opt for ALP and qualify the CBT 2, are required to undergo Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). The final stage comprises document verification and empanelling. 

What is Railway ALP Salary?

The initial pay as per 7th Pay Commission Matrix (Level 2) is INR 19,900. Besides, candidates are also entitled to various allowances and benefits.

Q:   What is the in-hand salary of RRB ALP?
A: 

The basic pay of RRB ALP and additional perks comprise up the monthly reimbursement. The basic wage for each selected candidate will be INR 19,900 per month. Along with this, their monthly RRB ALP in-hand income will also include a variety of perks, such dearness, house rent, medical, and so on. Therefore, the monthly RRB ALP in hand pay will roughly fall between INR  24,000 and 34,000.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2025

RRB ALP Exam Stages comprises CBT 1, CBT 2, CBAT, Document Verification, Medical Exam. The stage-wise Railway ALP Exam Pattern is explained below:

RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam Pattern

  • This stage is common for ALP & Technician posts and is qualifying in nature. This means the marks obtained in the RRB ALP Exam Mode Online CBT 1 are not counted for the final merit list
  • RRB ALP total questions in CBT 1 are 75 
  • RRB ALP exam duration is 60 minutes
  • Each question carries one mark; hence, the total mark of the paper is 75
  • There is negative marking for incorrect answers, ⅓ mark is deducted for wrong answer
  • There are RRB ALP Qualifying Marks in the exam

RRB ALP CBT 2 Exam Pattern

  • Those who secure cut off marks in first stage CBT, get a call for second stage CBT
  • This stage of the exam is divided into two parts-A and B
  • Part A will have 100 questions and the total time is 90 minutes
  • Part B will have 75 questions and the duration of the paper is 60 minutes
  • There is RRB ALP negative marking for incorrect answers; ⅓ mark is deducted for one wrong answer
  • The marks obtained in Part A is used to shortlist candidates for further rounds of selection
  • RRB ALP Part A and Part B Pattern is different
  • Part B is qualifying in nature

Q:   Is CBAT mandatory for all posts in RRB ALP?
A: 

In RRB ALP & Technician exam, only those who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and cleared second stage of, need to appear for CBAT. CBAT is for the candidates who have applied for technician post only. Candidates equal to eight times the number of ALP vacancies are called for CBAT based on the performance in Part A of second stage CBT, subject to qualifying the Part B. Candidates are required to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT. The questions in CBAT are in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. To draw the merit list of ALP,  70 per cent weightage is given to Part A of second stage CBT and 30 per cent in CBAT.

Q:   Can I edit RRB ALP application form?
A: 

Candidates cannot edit the details after submission of RRB ALP application form. Candidates are advised to re-check the detailed filled by them in application preview at Preference and Preview & Submit page for correctness and further submit application if all the information is correct since no change is permitted after submission of application for payment. If any information is found incorrect at application preview, they can click on 'Edit' button and rectify the incorrect information at respective page of application module, then again preview application for correctness and submit the application. After submission of the application, pay the requisite examination fee and complete the payment process. If a candidate wishes to modify, change or correct any details except details filled in the 'Create an Account' form (12 details and chosen RRB), they may do so by paying a modification fee
of INR 250 (non-refundable) for each occasion.

Q:   Is RRB ALP result released separately for different stages?
A: 

Yes, RRB ALP & Technician result is released separately for different stages. The result for each stage is announced online on the official website in PDF form. The result PDF displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. The steps to download RRB ALP result are given below:

  • Visit the respective regional website of RRBs
  • Click on the "Results" tab
  • Click on the results link for RRB ALP and Technicians. Following that, the result will be downloaded automatically in the PDF format.
  • The PDF will contain roll number of all shortlisted candidates, search your roll number in the PDF.
Q:   Why Aadhaar validation is required for RRB ALP?
A: 

Aadhaar validation is required for smoother process at different stages of recruitment for the candidates themselves. Further, to ensure genuineness of candidature and to curb impersonation during exam. RRBs will not share Aadhaar details with any third party or use them for any purpose other than the objectives of this CEN

Q:   What is the procedure to login for RRB ALP exam?
A: 

To login for RRB ALP exam, candidates need to go to the application link on the home page. Under the 'Apply' tab select 'Already have an account' from the dropdown menu. Sign in to your account by entering registered mobile number or email ID, followed by Password, Captcha and then login. 

Q:   What should I do if I forget my password to sign into My Account for RRB ALP exam?
A: 

Click on the 'Forgot Password' option at 'Sign into Your Account' of login page. Enter either Aadhaar number or registered email/mobile number and date of birth. The revised password will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID only. Candidates have to login with revised password sent on their registered email.
