RRB NTPC exam dates 2025 for Undergraduate posts have been announced. RRB NTPC UG exam dates are from August 7 to September 9, 2025. RRB NTPC 2025 exam for Graduate posts was conducted from June 5 to 24, 2025. Yes, RRB NTPC result is prepared based on the final answer key. The objections submitted by the candidates are reviewed by the subject matter experts and if the responses are found to be valid and correct, the examination authority revises the answers and publishes the final answer key.

Only those candidates will be issued RRB NTPC admit card whose application forms were accepted.

RRB NTPC admit card for CBT is released online on the region-wise official websites of RRBs. The admit card for PET, document verification and medical exam is released by the Railway Recruitment Cells. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging with user ID and password. RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the following factors:

• The number of candidates appearing in the exam plays a major role in deciding the cutoff marks. If the number of candidates appearing in the exam is high, then the cutoff increases
• The difficulty level of the exam is another determining factor for RRB NTPC cutoff marks evaluation. If the exam is difficult, then the cutoff is low
• The number of vacancies decides the zone-wise cutoff marks. If the number of vacancies in a particular zone of RRB is more, then the cutoff marks are low

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the normalised scores. This process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of questions since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method. For eg: If the negative marking is 1/3 and candidates have answered 80 questions, out of which 12 were wrong, then the raw score will be 80-12-12 * (1/3) = 64. Therefore, 64 is the raw score.

The cut off of RRB NTPC is released for the following stages:

RRB NTPC Cut off for CBT 1

RRB NTPC CBT 1 cut off is released based on the marks scored in General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The cutoff for CBT 1 is calculated out of 100 marks. 

RRB NTPC Cut off for CBT 2

RRB NTPC CBT 2 cut off is calculated out of 120 marks. Candidates who will secure RRB NTPC Cut off in CBT 2 are shortlisted for document verification, Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (As per the posts).

RRB NTPC Cut off for CBAT

This stage is conducted for Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) posts. Candidates eight times the number of vacancies based on their performance in CBT 2 are shortlisted for this stage. The qualifying marks prescribed for this stage are 42 which candidates need to secure in each test battery. To shortlist candidates for document verification, the examination authority will fix the cut-off marks for this stage.

RRB NTPC Cut off for Typing Skill Test (TST)

The typing skill test is conducted for Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST) posts. To qualify for this stage, candidates need to secure the cutoff marks.

RRB NTPC Cut off  for Document Verification

Candidates are called for document verification based on their performance in CBT 2 and CBAT/TST (as per the posts). The examination authority decides RRB NTPC Cut off marks to call candidates for document verification. Candidates clearing the document verification are called for Medical Fitness Test.

The overall difficulty level of RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam was moderate to difficult. Maximum questions in the General Awareness section were asked from Computers. The General Awareness section carried questions from topics such as Women premiere league, Percentage of GDP on research and development, the Relation of Geographical features, etc. The GK section was difficult compared to other sections.

RRB NTPC application form 2025 was released on September 14, 2024 for Graduate posts. Interested candidates could apply till October 20, 2024. RRB NTPC application form 2025 for undergraduate posts was available from September 21 to October 27, 2024. Candidates who will fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply online for the exam. RRB NTPC age limit for candidates applying for the undergraduate level posts should be 18 to 33 years. The age limit for graduate-level posts is 18 to 36 years. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in the age limit as per government rule. For Undergraduate level posts, candidates should be between 18 and 33 years.

The age limit prescribed for Graduate level posts has been revised. The revised age limit is 18 to 36 years. Earlier, it was 18 to 33 years.

RRB NTPC 2025 application status 2025 was released by RRBs. Candidates can check their application status by logging with the required credentials. The application status displays whether the candidate's online form has been accepted or rejected. If the form gets rejected, the examination authority have provided the reason for rejection.

There will be two stage CBTs for RRB NTPC undergraduate posts followed by Computer based Typing Skill Test (TST) wherever applicable. Typing Skill Test for Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist. Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. For Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Trains Clerk there shall be two stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination. RRB wise short listing of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT is done at the rate
of 15 times the vacancies. The short listing for Computer Based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test is done to the extent of 8 times the vacancies (may increase or decrease as per the requirement of Railway Administration) based on the merit of the candidates in 2nd Stage CBT. When a candidate is qualified in 1st stage CBT & shortlisted for subsequent stages as OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD he/she will continue to be considered as OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD respectively in all subsequent stages.

There are two stage Computer Based Test (CBTs) followed by Computer based Aptitude Test (CBAT)/ Typing Skill Test (TST) wherever applicable. The Computer-based Aptitude Test for Station Master and the Typing Skill Test are held for Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist. For Goods Train Manager, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, there are only two stage CBTs followed by document verification and medical examination. 

RRB Group D is the entry-level job in the Indian railway while RRB NTPC comes under the category of group C jobs, which are next to Group D posts. For RRB Group D posts, the educational qualification required is a Class 10th pass. For RRB NTPC undergraduate posts, candidates must have passed Class 12th. The posts announced under RRB Group D are Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman, etc. The posts announced under RRB NTPC are Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice, and Station Master.

RRB NTPC syllabus for CBT 1 and 2 is more or less same. The CBT 1 and 2 comprises the same subjects. However, there is a difference in the difficulty level of the exam. The subjects included in the CBT 1 and 2 exams are General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning.

Speed for online application is based on various factors such as internet speed, a large number of applicants trying to view the application at the same time. RRBs reject the RRB NTPC application form if the photographs of candidates are not valid. The photograph should be in JPEG format and the size of photograph should be between 30-70KB. Candidates are advised to upload their photographs correctly to avoid rejection in the application form. The photograph should be uploaded as per the specifications prescribed by the examination authority. The reasons for rejection of RRB NTPC application are given below:

• Invalid photos on account of Black and White photo, photo with cap or wearing Goggles. Photos which are disfigured, small size, full body, showing only one side view of the face, unrecognizable photos, photostatcopy of photo, group photo,
  selfie photo, photo taken by mobile, morphed photo and online application without photo among others.
  Signature in capital/block letters
• Not possessing the prescribed qualification for the post(s) as on the closing date of registration
• Over-aged or under-aged or Date of Birth wrongly filled
• Multiple applications to different RRBs or to same RRB. In such case, all applications will be rejected and such candidates will be debarred from future RRB/RRC exams
• Candidate's name figuring in the debarred list of any RRB/RRC
• Incomplete or incorrectly filled application
• Any other irregularities which are observed and considered as invalid by RRB

The application fees is accepted only online. RRBs have withdrawn the facility to pay the application form offline. RRB NTPC application form 2024 was released on September 14, 2024. The application fees can be paid from October 21 to 22, 2024. The application fee is INR 500 for general category applicants, while it is INR 250 for Women, SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen.

This facility is available only to SC/ST candidates. While filling up online RRB NTPC application form, such candidates, should choose ‘Yes’ from the drop down under ‘Do you wish to avail free rail travel pass for the exam and fill up ‘Nearest Railway Station’. It is the responsibility of the candidates availing free travel authority to give the correct name of the Railway Station in online application, failing which their travel authority may get rejected while obtaining reservation. They are also required to upload their Caste Certificate.
