Q: You have scored more than 799.6 marks out of 800. Was this result expected? Please tell us about your first reaction.
A: Actually yes since I was 100 percent sure that I have performed extremely well. However, some questions were not answered properly in the answer key and for that reason, I had to inquire about them. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the result.
Q: Tell us about your family and educational background?
A: I come from a middle-class family and my mother is a housewife. My dad works as a Senior Manager at TATA Steel and my brother has recently graduated from IIT Kharagpur
Q: How was your board result?
A: I secured 97.4% in my board exams and was quite satisfied with it.

Q: When did you start preparing for CUET Exam? What all books did you refer to?
A: I started my preparation back in October 2022 but I was not very consistent at that time. It was only after my boards that I embraced a full-fledged approach to objective questions; When it comes to books - for domains, NCERT served the purpose, but to prepare for vocabulary,
idioms and phrases, one can refer to diverse sources available in the market to garner a broader view.
Q: How much time did you devote to self-study? What do you feel is better, coaching or self-study?
A- After clearing my concepts with teachers, I completely devoted my time to self-study for around 4-6 hours a day. While coaching plays a pivotal role in guiding us throughout our preparation, we should also engage in self-study as that makes us confident about the concepts.
Furthermore, my advice would be to also go for the test series as it will let you know about your strengths and areas of improvement. For English and General Tests, one can go for crash courses as it will help in topic-wise learning.
Q: Which subject is your strong one and which is the weakest? Are NCERT books sufficient for preparations?
A- Political science is my strongest subject but I would not call other subjects my weakness. According to me, I am good at other subjects as well. NCERT books are more than enough and are the best sources for CUET.
Q: What was your exam day strategy? According to you, what was the toughest and easiest section?
A- For exam day I would say don't overburden yourself with any new information or get anxious seeing the competition because after all the only thing you can control is your performance. So be the best at that and just focus on yourself.
Well, I think economics was a bit tricky, but if you are strong at concepts then it wasn't difficult. When it comes to the easiest section then I believe all of the questions were average and cannot be termed as easy.

Q: Which all universities did you apply for? What was your dream college?
A- I applied only for DU and was a bit confused between Hindu College and Miranda House. But finally, I have decided to go to the Hindu college.
Q: What are the courses you are looking forward to?
A: My first preference is Political Science Honours
Q: To whom do you attribute your successful CUET journey? What would you suggest to future CUET aspirants in terms of preparation, attitude, etc.?
A: I would like to especially thank the Toprankers platform here, as they furnished a comprehensive explanation of concepts. Their extensive teaching, personalised mentorship, and regular tests made my hold better on subjects.
Especially if I talk about the English language and General Tests, then their interactive classes were a go-to for me. Furthermore, constant support from parents and friends also played an important role and consistency was a major contributor to my success.
My suggestion to future aspirants is to get acquainted with the syllabus, especially General Test and English and accordingly design a strategy to complete the topics.
Also, cover the deleted chapters from NCERT books and dedicate the last month completely for revision and mock tests. Mocks played an important role in my preparation. For this, I picked the Astra Series of Toprankers. It helped me to get a simulated overview of exams, and I was able to unlock my strengths and identify areas of improvement. All the Best!
