As per the CUET UG website, students seeking admission to BA at Jamia Millia must appear for and qualify CUET exam. However, since some universities are also considering other components while giving admission to CUET-UG based courses, it could be a possibility of getting into JMI without CUET. But, this being said there is no official information on whether the university will only consider CUET UG scores or other components as well for admission, it is tough to give the right answer. Students are therefore advised to reach out to the admission office for more details. 

Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. Admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations is CUET-based and for the rest, it is university-level entrance-based. Interested candidates can apply online for all courses on the official website of JMI or CUET.

 The top universities in India have set upper or lower age limits for admission to their courses. However, Jamia Millia Islamia has not imposed any such age restrictions. There is no upper age limit to appear in the JMI 2023 exam. However, candidates securing the same rank and marks in JMI exam will be given preference, if they are higher in age than the others. Jamia Millia Islamia offers seat reservations in almost all the courses based on the category of the students. Candidates seeking admission under the reserved category can apply for reservation under one category only and are required to fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions of the course. More details regarding JMI reservation criteria are enlisted below:

• 30% of the total number of seats in each course are reserved for Muslim applicants. 10% of the total number of seats in each course are reserved for women applicants
  who are Muslims and 10% of the total number of seats in each course shall be earmarked for (OBCs) and ST students who are Muslims.
• 5% of seats in all the courses are reserved for physically challenged students.
• 5% of seats in all courses must be filled by internal students of Jamia who have passed their qualifying exam from Jamia schools as regular students.

The university released its prospectus for admissions in March with the schedule for admission to courses accepting national-level and university-level entrance exams. JMI, New Delhi offers over 220 courses in both regular and self-financed modes. The university also provides distance learning courses at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and Diploma levels.
