AIBE Preparation Tips from Qualifiers

AIBE Preparation Tips from Qualifiers

The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is held by Bar Council of India (BCI). It is a qualifying examination for advocates or law graduates (2009 onwards) to check their skills and their preparedness to practice in court officially. The bar examination, which was first initiated in 2011, has no limitations on the number of attempts lawyers can make to qualify it, since it is mandatory to get a ‘Certificate of Practice’. AIBE, however, has become a tough exam to crack as it is no longer an open book exam. Many candidates fail to qualify for the examination (although, mostly by a narrow margin only) because it is not clear what topics from AIBE syllabus will be asked in the question paper. Shiksha brings here AIBE preparation tips from qualified candidates to help you prepare well for the upcoming examination.

The AIBE (XX) exam date is expected to be announced anytime soon. AIBE 20 2025 Exam will be conducted mostly in December. Read below preparation tips from AIBE-qualified candidates to get some insights on the upcoming exam.

Nishant Chamoli

Nishant cleared the AIBE Exam on his first attempt. He says, "CRPC (the Code of Criminal Procedure) and CPC (the Code of Civil Procedure), were challenging as those two are procedural laws, and one needs to have a basic understanding of them to go forward and understand the question in itself, as well as the case study-based questions."

those appearing in the AIBE Exam shouldn’t be stressed about the same, because if they have done satisfactorily in their college time they will be able to pass the exam easily as only bare minimum is required to clear the same but one shouldn’t take it too lightly, because there is a reason many people have failed this year maybe they had taken it for granted. Secondly, you should be carrying the Bare Acts with you, and you must know how to quickly read the Bare Acts and be on the section or the page you are required to be on to solve the particular question and one shouldn’t worry about the time given, cause trust me it's already too much.

Final semester candidates of LLB without backlogs are eligible to apply for AIBE-20 exam. Because you are in 5th semester of LLB and AIBE 20 will be held in December 2025. So not eligible for AIBE 20.
