Candidates can fill the AIBE 22 registration form on its official website in the manner notified by the Bar Council of India. AIBE 22 Registration 2026 Started:  All India Bar Examination 22 will be conducted offline at the designated exam centre nationwide on November 29. The BCI activated the AIBE 22 registrations on August 19 and the candidates are required to register with their mobile number and email id. This year, the Bar Council of India changed the AIBE 22 eligibility criteria and removed the mandatory requirement of the State Bar Enrollment to appear in AIBE

Now, even final-year candidates with no backlogs can fill the AIBE registration form with an undertaking given on the official portal. Candidates are advised to fill their AIBE 22 registration within the deadline. The last date to register for the AIBE is October 27. Candidates can pay the AIBE 22 registration fee till October 28, 2026. The AIBE 22 registration dates were announced in the AIBE 22 Notification 2026.

The AIBE 22 registration is the first and most important stage because the details filled in the AIBE registration and application form will be referred to till the completion of the exam process. What is AIBE 22?

The AIBE 22 is a certification exam conducted by the BCI. This is for the first time in recent past that the All India Bar Examination will be conducted twice in a single calendar year. The exam is conducted to check candidates' knowledge of legal subjects and practical advocacy skills. Candidates who wish to practice law in India must clear the  All India Bar Examination (AIBE). Those who clear the exam will be issued a Certificate of Practice.

To fill the AIBE application form 2026, candidates have to meet the eligibility requirements. If the AIBE Eligibility Criteria are not met, the BCI will reject the application form.

Qualifying exam

Candidates who have passed or are in the final year of a three-year LLB or five-year LLB degree are eligible to appear for the AIBE exam. The academic qualifying exam for AIBE candidates is a 3-year LLB degree or a 5-year integrated LLB degree

Minimum marks in qualifying exam

The BCI mentioned that no minimum marks are required to appear in the AIBE exam. However, a candidate must secure a minimum percentage or grades in their law degree as prescribed by universities for further education. 

Age limit for AIBE exam

There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the All India Bar Examination. 

State Bar Council Registration/Enrollment 

A candidate who are not registered with their State Bar Council as an Advocate can also apply. State Bar Council enrollment is no longer mandatory for AIBE eligibility.  

Can final year students apply for AIBE 22?

Yes, final-year or final-semester law students (both 3-year and 5-year LLB) can do the AIBE XXII registration 2026 for the AIBE 22 exam, provided they had no backlogs in previous semesters. According to the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Supreme Court, students in their final year are eligible to appear for the exam.

Candidates can follow the simple steps given below to make corrections in the AIBE application form. The AIBE Application Correction Window will remain open until October 30, 2026. Candidates must ensure that they make the required changes before the deadline.

  • Go to the website of AIBE, i.e., allindiabarexamination.com.
  • Click on the tab 'AIBE 22 (XXII) 2026 Correction Window'.
  • Log in with the AIBE XXII 2026 registration credentials.
  • Click on the tab ‘Correction in Application Form’.
  • Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and email, and click on the ‘Verify and Proceed’ tab.
  • Make the necessary changes, provided the fields are editable and allowed for the candidates based on their Aadhaar verification status.

No, one cannot get a CoP without having passed the AIBE if one completed his or her education with an LLB degree in or after 2009-2010. Passing the AIBE is mandatory for those who want to practice law on their own after completing an LLB degree from any recognised institution.
