How Many Students Appeared for the AIBE 20 Exam?

The AIBE 20 exam 2025 was conducted on November 30, 2025. The exam was held by the Bar Council of India at more than 50 cities in the country. May Law graduates and practicing lawyers appear in this exam across India to get qualified for the Certificate of Practice (CoP). This certificate is a mandatory document that allows Lawyers to practice at any Indian Court. Once the lawyers have this certificate, they will not require an extra permission to appear in the Court of Law for their respective cases.

What is AIBE Certificate of Practice (CoP)?

The AIBE exam serves as a gateway to get Certificate of Practice (CoP). The Law graduates will be required to enrol with their respective State Bar Council (SBC) on a provisional basis. However, to obtain the CoP, aspirants will have to appear for the AIBE exam. They will have to complete the Bar Council of India registration process. The registration process include filling the AIBE application form and paying the fee.

A Certificate of Practice is issued by the Bar Council of India under Section 24(1)(b) of the Advocates Act, 1961. It confirms that an individual is qualified and can practice law in any Indian Court. It is issued to those who successfully clear the AIBE exam. The BCI has made it mandatory that all advocates obtain a CoP within three years of their provisional enrollment with a State Bar Council.

AIBE Exam Qualifying Criteria

Candidates appearing in the AIBE exam will have to meet the following cutoff to pass the exam-

Category 

Minimum qualifying marks for AIBE

General/ OBC category

40% of total marks 

SC/ ST/ PWD

35% of total marks

All candidates who are not able to secure the minimum marks will have to sit for the next AIBE exam.

No candidates can actually prepare for AIBE Exam along with their class 12th exam. They just need to take out time to prepare for the entrance exam.

The Bar Council of India will begin the AIBE Result Rechecking Process from January 14, 2026. Candidates can apply until January 23, 2026 by visiting allindiabarexamination.com.

The BCI conducts the AIBE Exam in 11 languages. One of the language is hindi too. Hence, candidates have an option to appear for the exam in hindi too.
