The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the NEET MDS 2025 result on May 15, 2025. NBEMS has released the result in the form of a merit list. While 30,435 candidates registered for the exam, the actual number of test-takers was 29,220. As many as 1,215 candidates did not appear for the exam conducted on April 19, 2025.

Even though the full marks of the exam is 960, the highest marks obtained by the All India Rank (AIR) 1 holder is 779. The second ranker has scored 761, which is 18 marks less than the first ranker. On the other hand, as per the NEET MDS merit list 2025, 11,663 candidates have not qualified for the exam by securing the NEET MDS cutoff 2025. NBE or the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the NEET MDS exam conducting authority, releases the cutoff scores or the qualifying scores along with the result. The NEET MDS 2025 result was released on May 15, 2025. The NEET MDS 2025 cutoff was also released on the same date. However, on August 14, 2025, NBE released a notice stating the reduction of the NEET MDS 2025 cutoff percentile by 19.863 percentile for all categories, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recommendation.
The NEET MDS cut off is the qualifying marks that a candidate needs to clear the exam and participate further in the counselling process. Candidates who fail to get the cutoff marks do not get into the merit list and are also ineligible for the NEET MDS counselling.

NEET MDS 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria
Take a look at the NEET MDS 2025 tie-breaking criteria below:
- Candidates with a lesser number of incorrect responses in the overall paper (Part A & B) will be placed in a better merit position
- Candidates with a higher score in Part B of the question paper will be placed at a higher merit position.
- Candidate having lesser number of incorrect responses in Part B of the question paper will be placed at better merit position.
- If all the other criteria fail, a candidate older in age will be placed higher on the merit list.
NEET MDS 2025 Candidates Scoring Above 600
As many as 952 candidates have secured a score between 600 and 779. The rank range for this score chart is 1 to 952. Since the rank obtained by the NEET MDS 2025 candidates is less than 1000, such candidates stand a high chance to get through an MDS college of their preference. The NEET MDS 2023 cutoff was reduced for each category by 31.807 percentile. Based on that, the NEET MDS 2023 cutoff for General, reserved category (SC, ST, OBC, PWD) and UR-PWD categories are 168, 125 and 149 respectively. NEET MDS 2025 Candidates Scoring Below Qualifying Marks
According to the NEET MDS 2025 cutoff, the lowest cutoff marks, to be obtained across categories is 227. As per the NEET MDS 2025 result analysis, as many as 11,663 candidates have failed to secure above 227 marks. Here is a caveat. The NEET MDS merit list 2025 has not mentioned candidate categories, hence, the total number of non-qualifying candidates may be even higher.

The NEET MDS 2025 scorecards will be released on May 23, 2025, wherein candidates have to login to the official website of NEET MDS and login with their registration credentials to download it. It is expected that the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will commence the NEET MDS 2025 counselling process for the 50 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats tentatively from June 2025 onwards. The State Counselling authorities will begin the process after the All India Counselling for NEET MDS 2025 begins.
