The Kerala NEET UG counselling 2024 dates will be announced by the Commissioner for Entrance Exams (CEE), Kerala soon. The Kerala NEET Counselling 2024 application correction window has been opened by CEE Kerala. The last date to make changes to the application form is July 16, 2024, 11.59 PM.

The Kerala NEET UG counselling 2024 registration process was reopened from June 13, 2024, to June 19, 2024, 6 PM. Already registered candidates could add or modify the selected courses. Registered candidates were also given a chance to add or edit their category as NRI or Minority and generate certificates between June 21, 2024, to June 25, 2024.

Originally, the Kerala NEET counselling 2024 registration process had started on March 27, 2024. The last date for application was extended to April 19, 2024, 5 PM from April 17, 2024, 5 PM. The last date to upload the documents was April 24, 2024. No other dates for the Kerala NEET UG counselling 2024 have been announced yet. 

The window to submit the NEET 2024 scores will open soon. The NEET 2024 result was declared on June 4, 2024. Incidentally, NTA re-conducted the exam for 1,563 candidates with grace marks on June 23, 2024, and their results were declared on July 1, 2024. As many as 813 candidates appeared for the exam which was held in seven exam centres located in six cities and five states respectively.

It is expected that the complete schedule or Kerala NEET 2024 counselling dates will be announced in August 2024, tentatively a month after the declaration of the retest result, and the commencement of the MCC NEET 2024 counselling for 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats. There will be around three rounds of counselling, which will be conducted over three to four months. The number of rounds, vis-a-vis the duration of the Kerala NEET counselling 2024 will depend on the number of vacant seats after each round.

The Kerala NEET UG counselling 2024 registration process was reopened on June 13, 2024, by CEE Kerala and the last date to submit registrations or applications was June 19, 2024, till 6 PM. Registered candidates could log in and edit or modify their choice of courses within this tenure. Originally, the application process for Kerala NEET 2024 counselling had started on March 27, 2024. The last date of registration was extended till April 19, 5 PM, from April 17, and the documents had to be uploaded by April 24, 2024. Candidates had to register for the Kerala NEET counselling as part of KEAM 2024 registration. KEAM or the Kerala Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Entrance Exam is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Government of Kerala. Only those candidates who have registered for NEET 2024 will be eligible to participate in the Kerala NEET counselling 2024 for admission to medical and allied courses.

The total duration of the Kerala NEET UG counselling process is likely to range for a period of three to four months. The duration of each round is approximately a month. Based on last year's Kerala NEET counselling schedule, the process had started in July and concluded in November. The duration of Kerala NEET counselling will depend on the number of applicants and seat vacancies.

Kerala NEET Counselling 2024 Process

The first step of Kerala NEET counselling 2024 is registration, where candidates have to register through a valid email ID and mobile number. The login credentials are required to fill the application form to participate in the Kerala NEET counselling 2024. Candidates have to register separately for each round for Kerala MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/BSMS counselling 2024. After the successful submission of the Kerala NEET counselling registration form, and the submission of NEET scores, the conducting body will release the list of the registered candidates whose applications will be accepted. This is also referred to as the merit list.

Candidates whose names will be included in the merit list will have to report to the document verification centres. After the document verification process, they have to fill in their choice of colleges priority-wise. A provisional merit list of shortlisted candidates will be released for the first round of seat allotment. After this, the subsequent counselling rounds will take place depending upon the cutoff and availability of seats.

Q:   Will CEE accept the scores of any other entrance test for admissions through Kerala NEET counselling?

A:

No, CEE does not accept the scores of any other entrance test for admission to MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses. Admissions through Kerala NEET counselling will be based on the marks obtained in NEET UG exam only.

 

Q:   What is the fee for the MBBS courses at the medical colleges in Kerala through Kerala NEET counselling?

A:

The average annual fee for MBBS course in a government medical college of Kerala is around INR 25,000. On the other hand, the average annual fee for MBBS course in a private medical college of Kerala is around INR 6,00,000. The fee aount mentioned here is based on last year's fee amount. The amount may get changed this year. 

 

Q:   Is it mandatory to pass NEET to apply for Kerala NEET counselling?

A:

Yes, only those candidates who will qualify for NEET will be eligible to apply for Kerala NEET counselling process. NTA and MCC will send the list of qualifying candidates to each state counselling authorities. The Commissioner of Entrance Exams (CEE) Kerala, the counselling authority of the state will release the merit list, which will carry the names of candidates who have qualified for NEET and eligible to participate in the Kerala NEET counselling process.  

 

Q:   What percentage of seats will be allotted to the General category students in Kerala NEET counselling?

A:

Nearly 60 per cent of the total state quota seats will be allotted to open category students in Kerala NEET counselling. While allotting seats, CEE, or the Kerala NEET counselling authority will consider the reservation criteria of the state while allotting seats to candidates who will exercise their choices.

The application fee for Medical and allied courses for General and SC category candidates is INR 625 and INR 250 respectively. There is no application fee for ST category candidates. The application fee has to be paid in online mode only, which includes Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking.
