Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is the difference between the NEET city allotment slip and NEET admit card?
A:

The NEET city allotment slip is not the same as the NEET admit card. While the NEET city intimation slip only informs candidates about the exam city and the state, the NEET admit card mentions the exact name and address of the NEET exam centre allotted to candidates. Apart from this, the admit card of NEET also carries the exam day instructions and guidelines, and the Self Declaration Undertaking which must be filled and signed by candidates. The NEET admit card also carries fields for parents', candidates' and invigilators' signatures. While parents' signatures have to be made on the document in advance, candidates and invigilators have to sign during the exam. Last but not the least, the NEET admit card is the mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre, without which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. On the other hand, it is not mandatory to carry the NEET city allotment slip to the exam centre or for further events such as counselling or institute reporting.

Q:   Is it mandatory to carry NEET exam city slip to the exam centre?
A:

No, it is not mandatory to carry the NEET exam city slip document to the exam centre. The NEET admit card is the mandatory document which has to be carried to the exam centre and the information printed on it will be verified with the admit card. Hence, the NEET admit card is a mandatory document, but the significance of the NEET city intimation slip is limited till the time the admit card is released.

Q:   When does NTA release the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip?
A:

NTA has released the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip on April 23, 2025. The document has to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration credentials. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET admit card, which will be released on or before May 1, 2025.

Q:   Can I put black thumb impression on the NEET admit card?
A:

Candidates have to put their left-hand thumb impression on the NEET admit card in the space provided. The thumb impression have to be put on the space provided before reaching the exam hall. NTA has not given any instruction regarding the colour of the ink, hence, if a candidate wishes to put the thumb impression with black ink, he/she can do that. However, test-takers must ensure that the thumb impression is put properly on the NEET admit card and it should match the one uploaded in the application form. Moreover, the ink should not be smudged and the impression of the thumb should not be placed anywhere else on the document except the space provided. Also, candidates must ensure that they put their own thumb impression and not anyone else's.
