Odisha NEET Counselling 2026 dates will be announced soon. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) will conduct the Odisha NEET UG Counselling 2026 for admissions to medical, dental and allied courses in state colleges. The counselling process will begin with the online registrations. Candidates who will clear the NEET 2026 will be eligible to take the Odisha NEET counselling registration 2026 at ojee.nic.in.  

Odisha NEET 2026 Counselling process is conducted for admission to 85 per cent State Quota seats of MBBS and BDS courses. There will be four to five rounds of counselling, including spot counselling. Further rounds will be conducted based on the vacant seats. The counselling process will involve steps like registration, release of seat matrix and merit list, choice filling and locking, seat allotment result, and institute reporting.

Applicants who want to take part in Odisha NEET UG counselling 2026 need to undertake the registrations. After the registrations, the OJEE carries out verification of documents. Have a look at the complete Odisha NEET Counselling process 2026 below-

Odisha NEET Registration 2026

To participate in the counselling of Odisha NEET 2026, candidates have to register on the OJEE website for MBBS and BDS Admission. 

Odisha NEET Counselling: Verification of the documents

This is an offline process. Candidates had to choose a verification centre while filling the application form for the counselling of Odisha NEET 2026. They had to report to this verification centre along with all their documents (in original). After the successful verification, candidates were issued a confirmation slip. They must preserve this slip for future reference.

Odisha NEET counselling 2026: Documents required for verification

The following documents must be produced during the document verification process:

  • NEET 2026 scorecard
  • NEET admit card
  • Marksheet and certificates of Class 10
  • Marksheet and certificates of Class 12
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste/Community Certificate (if applicable)

Odisha NEET Merit List 2025

After the document verification, the OJEE Cell release a list of eligible candidates for the counselling process. Candidates not completing the document verification will not be included in this list. The state merit list ranked the eligible candidates based on their performance in NEET 2026.

Choice filling and locking for Odisha NEET UG Counselling

Candidates included in the state merit list of Odisha NEET 2026 counselling will be able to proceed with choice filling and locking. There is no limit on the number of choices that a candidate can fill in this form. They are thus advised to fill in as many choices as they can. After filling the choices, a candidate must lock these choices or they will not be considered for seat allotment.

Odisha NEET Seat allotment list

Based on the choices filled by candidates and their position in the state merit list, the OJEE Cell allocated seats to eligible candidates. The seat allotment list for every round was released separately. Those who are allotted a seat and wish to continue with the respective institute have to report to the institute before the last date.

Institute Reporting

Candidates allotted seats have to personally report at the office of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), at Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar, on the notified date and time with all certificates, mark sheets, and other required documents, in original and the bond duly prepared, for provisional admission. They have to pay the Admission Fees (depending upon the type of allotted College) either online or by demand draft. He/ She can exercise the option of Freeze / Float as per his/her choice. The candidate has to deposit the original College Leaving Certificate / School Leaving Certificate, as the case may be, and is issued a Provisional Admission Letter.

Candidates not reporting to the institutes will be considered out of the system, and the allotted seat will be treated as a vacant seat for the next round. Such candidates can participate in the next round by doing a fresh choice filling only. 

Withdrawal/Resignation of Seats

In case the candidate resigns after admission on or before the designated date for withdrawal/resignation, he/she will be refunded 90 per cent of the admission fees deposited, and 10 per cent of the admission fees will be deducted as processing fees. No candidates were allowed to resign after the stipulated date. If any candidate resigns after the due date for which a seat lapsed, no fee will be refunded, and the candidate will be liable for a financial penalty as per the decision of the State Government.

Odisha NEET Counselling 2026: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to participate in the Odisha NEET UG counselling 2026 are given below for each parameter. 

Nationality: Only Indian citizens, OCIs, NRIs and PIOs can apply for Odisha NEET 2026 counselling

Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 Board exam in Science stream and the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have secured minimum of 50 per cent marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at Class 12 Science level for General Candidate (GE), 40 per cent for SC/ST candidates and 45 per cent for benchmark disability candidates (PC-GE). The required mark for Physically Challenged candidates of the SC/ST category is 40 per cent.

Entrance Examination: To apply for the counselling of Odisha MBBS/BDS 2026, the candidate must have cleared NEET 2026 exam. Those who have not appeared for/qualified for NEET 2026 will not be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Domicile: Applicant must be domiciled in the state of Odisha. Exceptions to this are:

  • Children of Odisha State Government employees
  • Children of Government of India employees currently posted in Odisha

Reservation: The reservation policy for Odisha NEET counselling is as follows:

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST)-12 per cent
  • Scheduled Cast (SC)-8 per cent
  • Physically Challenged (PC)-3 per cent
  • Ex-Servicemen (ES)-3 per cent
  • Green Card Holders (GC)-5 per cent

Eligibility Criteria for NRI Candidates

The eligibility criteria for NRI candidates to participate in the OJEE NEET 2026 counselling process are given below:

1. The NRI candidates, who have qualified the NEET UG 2026, are eligible.

2. NRI means the children or wards of a person of Indian origin residing outside India. Such candidates have to submit the following documents in support of NRI.

i. Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer)

ii. Relation of NRI with the candidate

iii. Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ She will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarised.

iv. Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).

OJEE has mentioned that candidates will have to deposit a fee amount of INR 37,950 for Government Medical and Dental colleges. The fees for private medical and dental colleges are given below.

Admission Fees will have to be paid either online (using respective login ID) or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “OJEE” drawn at any scheduled bank payable at Bhubaneswar. The Name and NEET Application number of the candidate are to be mentioned on back side of the draft and the draft is to be submitted at the OJEE office at the time of reporting.

The annual course fee for MBBS in a government medical college of Odisha is around INR 40,000. According to OJEE, the authority for Odisha NEET counselling, fees to be deposited to government medical/dental colleges is INR 37,950 per annum. Additional fees as prescribed by concerned Govt. Colleges may be collected at institutional level which may vary from institution to institution. Odisha NEET UG counselling process is conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). OJEE conducts the counselling process for the undergraduate medical courses, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS. It is the state counselling for the 85 per cent State Quota (SQ) seats of the Odisha state. Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam are eligible to participate in this state counselling. Even though OJEE is the counselling authority for Odisha NEET UG counselling, the process and rules are inclined as per the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS). Odisha NEET UG Counselling is done by a Committee consisting of OJEE Chairman, OJEE Vice-Chairman, OJEE Secretary OJEE, and three Members  (Additional Director of DMET Odisha, and two other Members).

No, admissions to medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses in Odisha are done on the basis of NEET scores only. Scores of OJEE or the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) will not be considered for medical or allied course admission. Hence, candidates seeking admission to medical and allied courses in the state of Odisha must have appeared, or plan to appear for NEET and qualify for the exam as well. Sri University Odisha NEET cutoff 2025 will be available soon. The Sri university accepts the Odisha NEET counselling for admission to the BAMS course. In 2021, the qualifying last round cutoff rank was 964889 for the students belonging to the General AI category.
