Odisha NEET Counselling 2025: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria to participate in the Odisha NEET UG counselling 2025 are given below for each parameter.
Nationality: Only Indian citizens, OCIs, NRIs and PIOs can apply for Odisha NEET 2025 counselling
Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 Board exam in Science stream and the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have secured minimum of 50 per cent marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at Class 12 Science level for General Candidate (GE), 40 per cent for SC/ST candidates and 45 per cent for benchmark disability candidates (PC-GE). The required mark for Physically Challenged candidates of the SC/ST category is 40 per cent.
Entrance Examination: To apply for the counselling of Odisha MBBS/BDS 2025, the candidate must have cleared NEET 2025 exam. Those who have not appeared for/qualified for NEET 2025 will not be eligible to participate in the counselling process.
Domicile: Applicant must be domiciled in the state of Odisha. Exceptions to this are:

- Children of Government of India employees currently posted in Odisha

There are various steps involved in the Odisha NEET counselling. The detailed procedure for each step of the counselling is given below:
Registration and application process
To participate in the counselling of Odisha NEET 2025, candidates will have to register on the official website of OJEE. The entire application process can be divided into six steps:

Verification of the documents

State Merit List
After the document verification, the OJEE Cell will release a list of eligible candidates for the counselling process. Candidates not completing the document verification will not be included in this list. The state merit list ranked the eligible candidates based on their performance in NEET 2025.
Choice filling and locking
Candidates included in the state merit list of Odisha NEET 2025 counselling will be able to proceed with choice filling and locking. There is no limit on the number of choices that a candidate can fill in this form. They are thus advised to fill in as many choices as they can. After filling the choices, a candidate must lock these choices or they will not be considered for seat allotment.
Seat allotment list
Based on the choices filled by candidates and their position in the state merit list, the OJEE Cell allocated seats to eligible candidates. The seat allotment list for every round was released separately. Those who are allotted a seat and wish to continue with the respective institute have to report to the institute before the last date.
Institute Reporting
Candidates allotted seats have to personally report at the office of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), at Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar, on the notified date and time with all certificates, mark sheets, and other required documents, in original and the bond duly prepared, for provisional admission. They have to pay the Admission Fees (depending upon the type of allotted College) either online or by demand draft. He/ She can exercise the option of Freeze / Float as per his/her choice. The candidate has to deposit the original College Leaving Certificate / School Leaving Certificate, as the case may be, and will be issued a Provisional Admission Letter.
Candidates not reporting to the institutes will be considered out of the system, and the allotted seat will be treated as a vacant seat for the next round. Such candidates can participate in the next round by doing a fresh choice filling only.
Withdrawal/Resignation of Seats
In case the candidate resigns after admission on or before the designated date for withdrawal/resignation, he/she will be refunded 90 per cent of the admission fees deposited, and 10 per cent of the admission fees will be deducted as processing fees. No candidates were allowed to resign after the stipulated date. If any candidate resigns after the due date for which a seat lapsed, no fee will be refunded, and the candidate will be liable for a financial penalty as per the decision of the State Government.

Odisha NEET UG counselling process is conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). OJEE conducts the counselling process for the undergraduate medical courses, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS. It is the state counselling for the 85 per cent State Quota (SQ) seats of the Odisha state. Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam are eligible to participate in this state counselling. Even though OJEE is the counselling authority for Odisha NEET UG counselling, the process and rules are inclined as per the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS). Odisha NEET UG Counselling is done by a Committee consisting of OJEE Chairman, OJEE Vice-Chairman, OJEE Secretary OJEE, and three Members (Additional Director of DMET Odisha, and two other Members).
