Odisha NEET Counselling 2026: Highlights

The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Cell conducts three to four rounds of Odisha NEET counselling with a spot round for admission to various medical and dental colleges across the state. The first step is the Odisha NEET Counselling registration, where candidates need to provide mandatory information regarding personal and academic details. After registration, candidates have to pay the required non-refundable fees. Applications for Odisha MBS and BDS counselling will be accepted only after a candidate has paid the registration fees.

After successfully submitting the Odisha NEET counselling registration form, the conducting body releases the merit list or list of the registered candidates whose applications were accepted. Candidates whose names are included in the list have to enter their choices, based on which the seat allotment result will be declared. Such candidates have to report to the document verification centres. The subsequent counselling rounds take place depending upon the Odisha NEET cutoff and availability of seats.

Q:   Who conducts Odisha NEET UG counselling?

Odisha NEET UG counselling process is conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). OJEE conducts the counselling process for the undergraduate medical courses, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS. It is the state counselling for the 85 per cent State Quota (SQ) seats of the Odisha state. Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam are eligible to participate in this state counselling. Even though OJEE is the counselling authority for Odisha NEET UG counselling, the process and rules are inclined as per the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS). Odisha NEET UG Counselling is done by a Committee consisting of OJEE Chairman, OJEE Vice-Chairman, OJEE Secretary OJEE, and three Members  (Additional Director of DMET Odisha, and two other Members).
