DTU offers admission to multiple courses at the UG, PG and PhD levels. Admission to the MBA course is conducted through the Common Management Admission Committee (CMAC). A few more recent updates related to Delhi Technological University are as follows:
- The CAT 2026 registrations for admission to the MBA/PGDM course are now closed. Candidates can download the admit card from Nov 4, 2026.
- CAT 2026 exam will be held on Nov 29, 2026.
- UCEED 2027 examination applications with regular fee for admission to the BDes courses are open till Oct 31, 2026. The UCEED 2027 exam will be held on Jan 17, 2027.
- GATE 2027 Registration window for admission to the ME/MTech and Phd courses is now closed. The exam will be held from Feb 6 to Feb 7, 2027; Feb 13 to Feb 14, 2027; and Feb 20 to Feb 21, 2027.
DTU Delhi Highlights 2026
Formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), Delhi Technological University (DTU) is ISO-certified. DTU offers 21 undergraduate, 36 postgraduate and PhD programs in the streams of Science, Engineering, Management, Architecture, etc. It has 6 centres and 18 academic departments. DTU NAAC Grade is 'A+ ', with a CGPA of 3.47. Some of the key highlights of the Delhi College of Engineering are mentioned below:
- Ranking: DTU has been ranked in the 700s band in the Asian University Rankings 2026. As per the NIRF Ranking 2025, the University has been ranked 62nd in the 'overall' category. In the 'University' category, it was ranked 42nd, while in the 'Engineering' category, it was ranked 30th.
- Placements: DTU placement 2026 stats are yet to be released. However, during the DTU placements 2025, the highest international and domestic packages offered for BTech were INR 1.8 Crore per Annum and INR 85 LPA, respectively. For MBA DSM and USME courses, the highest packages offered stood at INR 16.42 LPA and INR 22 LPA, respectively.
- Popular Course: BTech is the flagship course of DTU Delhi. Apart from BTech, other popular programs of DTU include BDes, MBA and MTech. Admission to all these courses is based on candidates' performance in different national-level entrance exams.
- Accepted Exams: Delhi Technological University course admissions are mostly entrance-based. DTU BTech admission 2026 is based on valid JEE Main scores, followed by the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi 2026 counselling. For the MBA course, admission is conducted through the Common Management Admission Committee (CMAC 2026). Candidates will be called for the GD & PI rounds based on the appropriate CAT/MAT cutoff percentile.
- Fees: DTU Delhi fees for the BTech course range between INR 5.3 lakh and INR 7.4 lakh. Within this range, students can get admission to specialisations, such as CSE, IT, Civil Engineering, etc. Students are required to pay some other charges as well, depending on the facilities they opt for.
- Cutoff: For BTech admission, the DTU cutoff 2026 ranged between 5171 and 17397 during the Round 2 seat allotment result. Considering the cutoff range, Computer Science and Engineering was the most competitive BTech branch for admission.
- Scholarship: DTU offers various academic scholarships based on merit. DTU scholarships are offered for students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/Minority category. Students whose annual salary income is up to INR 5 lakh can avail a 100% full fee waiver.
- MoU: Delhi Technological University has signed an MoU with the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) to foster research, innovation, & academic collaboration in advanced areas of science & technology. DTU has collaborated with Esri India to Advance GeoAI Education & Research.
DTU Delhi Cut off 2026
DTU cutoff 2026 has been released for BTech admission. Students are admitted to the BTech course based on valid JEE Main entrance exam scores, followed by JAC Delhi counselling. The Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi releases the JAC Delhi cutoff in the form of opening and closing ranks. For 2026, four regular and one spot round seat allotment will be released. More cutoff-related details are below:
- During the DTU cutoff 2026 for BTech, the JEE Main Round 4 closing ranks varied from 7060 to 25303 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. For the same category, the cutoff ranged between 14806 and 88822 under the HS quota. As per the Round 4 admissions, CSE was the most sought-after BTech specialisation for admission for the General category under both AI and HS quotas.
- DTU College Delhi MBA cutoff 2026 has been released for the third round. CMAC released the cutoff list based on CAT/ MAT/ Graduation percentage, with one year of experience to shortlist the candidates for admission. As per the third round, the cutoff rank is 149 for students belonging to the General AI category.

Placement stats of DTU are not even on their official website, and they are worth knowing! Students confirm the highest package is 82.5 LPA (Atlassian, Bangalore) domestically and 1.8 CPA internationally.
Before you calculate the total budget of your academic year, do not forget to add the hostel fee which ranges ₹52,000-72,000/year, while boys' mess alone costs ₹35,000 for 10 months.
If you find yourself hungry on campus, then you may only have to settle with Nescafe, which is the only running food joint at DTU currently.
The hostel life at DTU is very strict in terms of night curfews and security. The campus entry cutoff time is 9PM while you can enter the hostel after 11pm.
The fest scene at DTU is lit, so much so that there are more than 100 registered societies and fests as a genuine feature of campus life.
DTU students are not too happy with the hostel allotment situation. Some outstation students with CGPAs above 8.9 are still on the waiting list. And some students say they are eventually being denied hostel rooms.
With the waiting list getting longer, students are now looking at PGs around Bawana Road and Rohini. Names like Sunrise and White House are being discussed in student groups. But with more students looking for PGs, some say landlords have started increasing the rent.
DTU Delhi Courses & Fees 2026
DTU College offers a four-year full-time BTech course across more than 14 specialisations. It also offers a BTech course for working professionals with having a Diploma in Engineering. For working professionals, the classes are held six days a week in the evening from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Besides, the college offers several UG, PG and PhD programmes in the field of Management, Economics and Engineering. Some of the courses are BTech, BA Economics, BDes, BBA, MDes, MTech, MA Economics, MBA and PhD. DTU Delhi Placements 2025
DTU course-wise placement statistics for 2026 are yet to be released. In the meantime, candidates can learn about the DTU placement 2025 for UG and PG courses. The Univesity has a Training & Placement Cell. The university gives placement support to students and is visited by top companies like Salesforce, Samsung, Deloitte, Adobe, etc. During the DTU placements 2025, the highest domestic package offered to the students of the BTech batch was INR 85 LPA. DTU CSE average package offered in 2025 was INR 20 LPA.

DTU Delhi Admission & Application Process 2026
At the UG level, BTech and B.Des are two popular courses. For Delhi Technological University admissions to BTech, the accepted exam is JEE Main, followed by the Joint Admission Committee (JAC Delhi) counselling. For B.Des, admission is based on a valid UCEED score, followed by the counselling process.
At the postgraduate level, the University offers a two-year full-time MBA programme for which admission is based on national-level Management entrance exams, followed by GD & PI. DTU Application Process 2026
DTU accepts several national-level entrance exams, including JEE Main, CAT, GATE, etc for getting admission to UG and PG courses. Interested candidates can apply online to be eligible for admission. For BTech admission, students can apply online on the official website. Details are below:
- Registration via JAC Delhi is a two-step online process where students must fill out the online application form and make the payment of the application fee. Students should note that JAC Delhi allows registrations before every round to change the course preference.
- JAC registration-cum-counselling fee is INR 1,500 + Transaction Charges (as applicable).
- For BDes, MTech, MDes, MSc, MBA (BA/ FBE/ EIVD), E-MBA, BA, BBA and PhD, students must apply on the official website of DTU
- For MBA, students can apply through CMAC 2026.

Both these institutes are decent options for BBA in all the aspects, such as its placements and fee structure. But most students choose DTU over NSUT because of the huge campus and big crowd. DTU is indeed a great college for engineering, specially B.Tech. Since it takes students through JEE Mains, the quality of students is also very good.
Being a very old government college, it has gained immense recognition as well. Syllabus is a bit outdated. The subjects in the first year are common for all, irrespective of branches. Classes are held regularly, though there are bunks as well during exams, fests etc.
The professors are well educated, most of them have done PhD. Some of the teachers are good, interesting while some make the subject very boring and dull. Some of them would just copy the things from the book without actually making the students understand. I would advice to be regular in class and always stay in touch with the syllabus. The study during engineering is comparatively easier than that during JEE and so one can easily cope up.
DTU is not just great in terms of academics or placements, but the fests and societies also help a student to develop as an individual. It makes you a much better person rather than just a bookish engineer.
