VITREE 2026: July Registrations, Eligibility, Fees, and Documents Required

Vellore Institute of Technology mentions eligibility criteria of VITREE January 2026 in the official notification. Criteria for VITREE is different for all course programmes. Applicants are advised to check VITREE 2026 eligibility criteria before filling application form. For all Research Programmes, candidate must have studied in regular, full-time, and formal education in their previous degree programmes (UG and PG). VITREE January 2026 Eligibility Criteria

• For PhD, candidates must have a master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum qualifying mark of 60% or CGPA of 6.5. 
• For Direct PhD, candidates must have an excellent academic record in their bachelor's degree with a minimum qualifying percentage of 75% or CGPA of 7.5
• For PhD Deep Technology Research Chancellor Fellowship, candidates must have an outstanding academic record in either bachelor's or master's degree with a minimum 75% marks or a CGPA OF 8.0

Note: A separate call letter for VITREE and personal interview will be sent by respective campus. No accomodation will be provided to students by institution. Students have to make their own arrangements (for stay) during interview.

VIT Vellore has released application form for July session. The last date to apply is April 26. The mode of application form is online, and the official website to apply is https://admissions.vit.ac.in/phdapplication/login. The VITREE 2026 application form process comprises registration, filling information, uploading of documents, and fee payment. VITREE 2026 registration fee is INR 1200 for all categories and must be paid through netbanking/credit card/debit card. The VITREE 2026 application fee is INR 1200 for all categories and must be paid online via netbanking/debit card or credit card. 

NOTE: The VITREE application form is released twice a year, for January and July sessions.

Candidates can check the VITREE 2026 exam pattern on the official website. Applicants appearing for the exam must refer to the exam pattern for their preparation. The VITREE exam will take place on December 20, 2025. The VITREE 2026 exam is an online computer-based exam for 2 hours. The exam authority asks all the questions in multiple-choice format. • Enter 10-digital application number, password, and registered email ID
• Confirm and download admit card

Selection of VITREE -qualified candidates will be based on the performance in the exam, PG degree marks, research proposal, followed by personal interview. The details regarding the VITREE July session counselling and personal interview will be notified and informed to the applicants on their registered email ID. The expected date is 2nd or 3rd week of May 2026.

VITREE 2026 July session result is expected to be released in the last week of May 2026. Candidates can check their result on official website using their login credentials. VITREE result scorecard 2026 will comprise qualifying status of applicant, including candidate's details, score in individual subjects, and qualifying status.  Applicants declared qualified based on VITREE result 2026 will be have to pay online admission fee and attend counselling. 

VITREE 2026 result date for January session was declared on November 24. The result has been announced on official website and can be checked using their application number and password.
