CMAT is a popular option among management aspirants to pursue MBA degree course. Common Management Admission Test or CMAT is conducted by the NTA and accepted by over 1300 B-Schools in India, including some of the top government institutions. Admission through CMAT 2026 will be based on cut offs. The accepting colleges determine CMAT cut offs for admission to MBA/PGDM courses.
The CMAT cut off can vary from year to year and college to college. Only if a candidate meets the CMAT cut off marks criteria of a particular institute he/she will be invited for admission process. The CMAT cut offs of various colleges fall in various percentile ranges. Some colleges have high percentile where as some don't. Meaning, there is an option for all. CMAT 2026 exam will be conducted on January 25, 2026 and the CMAT result 2026 will be announced in second week of February 2026. Meeting CMAT cut off is the first stage of MBA admission. Candidates need to clear the Personal Interview/Group Discussion/Written Ability Test round too. Some institutes conduct only Personal Interview, some conduct Personal Interview/Group Discussion and some conduct all three, Personal Interview/Group Discussion/Written Ability Test. Apart from that, candidates must also meet the academic criteria for selection.
It is quite unlikely that you can get admission if you do not meet the academic eligibility criteria for MBA. The basic criteria of selection are CMAT score and academic score. As per the AICTE, the minimum score required in graduation to qualify for MBA programme is 50 % (for SC/ST/PwD category, the minimum score requirement is 45%. So, MBA aspirants must ensure that they have scored at least 50 percent in their Bachelor's degree programme.

No, GIM Goa does not accept CMAT scores for its PGDM programs for admissions. It only accepts CAT or XAT exam score. CAT score of previous year is accepted and XAT score of current year is accepted.

There is no provision of result evaluation in CMAT. The scores mentioned on result will be final and cannot be challenged. Candidates can only challenge the provisional answer key which is released before CMAT result.
