KMAT result 2025 has been released on September 23, 2025. Earlier, the KMAT result 2025 was scheduled to be released on September 22, 2025. KMAT 2025 scorecard will be available on the KMAT India website once released. KMAT registration 2025 for session 2 exam started on September 16, 2025. The last date to register for the session 2 exam is October 12, 2025. The KMAT exam 2025 will be conducted in a home-based, remote-proctored mode for two hours.

The participating colleges will release the individual KMAT cutoff for the students who appeared for the exam. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained by them in the KMAT exam. KMAT 2025 was conducted on September 7, 2025, for the first session.

What is KMAT Karnataka?

KMAT Karnataka or Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) for admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses. The organisation was established to provide support to professional education and facilitate and streamline the admissions to postgraduate professional courses. KMAT Karnataka was first conducted in 2003 and was born out of the need to have a unified entrance exam for the Karnataka state. More than 170 AICTE-approved MBA colleges and over 55 MCA colleges offer admissions based on scores obtained in the KMAT exam. Candidates who pass the KMAT Karnataka 2023 exam will be called for further admission process by the participating institutes which includes Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.

Q:   Is KMAT Karnataka exam tough?
A: 

KMAT is a remote proctored test with a difficulty level that falls somwhered in the middle of the easiest and the toughest exams. In other words, it is moderately diffcult. The students are assessed in three fundamental domains, i.e. Reasoning, English, and Mathematics. The syllabus of the KAMT Karnataka exam covers a range of topics in each section. Students who wish to appear for the KMAT exam will be judged on their hold over grammar, vocabulary, arithmetic, algebra, logical reasoning and general awareness.

Hence, to answer if KMAT is tough, students can gauge this by their understanding of concepts, fundamentals and their level of preparation and dedication. 

Q:   When will KMAT examination be conducted?

KMAT 2025 exam will be conducted on October 18, 2025, for session 2. Session 1 KMAT 2025 was conducted on September 7, 2025. The exam will be conducted in the home-based online remote proctored mode. Candidates have to apply for the KMAT exam online by filling out the online KMAT application form. The application process started on September 16, 2025, for session 2.

Q:   What is the duration of the KMAT exam and can I change my exam slot?

The KMAT exam is held for two hours or 120 minutes. There is only one slot for the KMAT exam. KMAT exam does not have a sectional time limit. This means, that the candidates can solve the question paper with ease without worrying about the sectional timer. However, they must complete the question paper within the overall time limit. Candidates must take care of saving their answers at every step as the moment 120 minutes will get over, the test will automatically stop. There is no provision of changing the exam slot. And there is no provision to apply for the same. Candidates will have to appear for the exam at the time as mentioned on their KMAT Karnataka admit card. Candidates must make sure that they setlled on their seats and have logged in at least 15 minutes prior to the exam time. In case, candidates find any technical difficulty in logging in, they will have the time window to get it resolved.

  1. KMAT 2025 will be conducted in a home-based remote online proctored test mode. Candidates taking the KMAT exam must read the exam instructions mentioned on the KMAT admit card carefully to avoid any last-minute hassle.

Q:   What are the dos on the KMAT exam day?
A: 

On the KMAT exam day, candidates have to follow certain guidelines which include settling on time, cooperating with the exam conducting staff, following instructions of the test invigilator and following the test navigation for solving the KMAT questions. There are some key dos that candidates should follow on the KMAT exam day, which have been listed below:

KMAT exam day dos:

  1. Login at least 10 minutes prior to the time mentioned on your KMAT admit card.
  2. Keep a photocopy of the KMAT admit card along with a government issued identity proof.
  3. PwD candidates should keep the relevant certificates and documents as prescribed by the examination authorities. 
  4. Keep a blue/black ball point pen for calculations
  5. Keep a drinking water bottle with you as you will not be allowed to leave the seat during the exam
  6. Cooperate with the test centre staff and follow instructions carefully
  7. Candidates must write their name and roll numbers on the rough sheet they use.
  8. Sit in a well-lit area where you face is clearly visible.

Candidates appearing for the KMAT exam, must not use any electronic item including the watch, mobile phone, ipad, calculator, smartwatch, etc. during the KMAT exam. Any candidate found using such an item during the exam will be disqualified. Candidates can check time on the onscreen timer on their computer systems during the KMAT exam. Apart from electronic items, stationary other than a blue/black ball point pen and eatables are not allowed. Caps and headgear, goggles, etc. which cover the face in any way are also not allowed during the exam. 

Q:   What are the necessary documents to present to the invigilator during the KMAT exam?

When appearing for the KMAT exam, it is important to keep the following documents handy as you may be asked to present those at any point of time:

  1. KMAT Admit Card: Students will be issued a KMAT admit card which is one of the most important documents for the KMAT exam. Candidates must take a printout of the KMAT admit card once release and sign it in front of the Human Proctored when asked.
  2. Valid Photo ID Proof: Keep a valid photo identification document issued by the government of India. This could include any of the following:
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • PAN Card
    • Voter ID Card
    • College/University ID Card (if applicable)

Students must keep the original copies of the identity proof as the photocopies are unacceptable. Login in advance to complete the necessary document verification procedures and avoid any last-minute hassles.

Q:   Can I change my exam centre after the admit card has been issued for KMAT?

No, candidates cannot make any changes once the KMAT application form has been submitted and the admit card has been issued. Candidates can however, contact the exam conducing authorities if they find any error in the KMAT admit card. Having said that, KMAT exam conducting authorities reserve the right to modify, add or combine any test centre/s if required.

Q:   Can I download a copy of the KMAT admit card after the exam?
A: 

No, students will not be allowed to download a copy of the KMAT admit card 2025 after the exam is over. KMAT admit can downloading link will only be live form the day of release till the exam day. 

The admit card may also not be accessible in the student dashboard after the exam or result announcement. Moreover, since the signed and stamped admit card will be considered valid for any activity post the exam, even if you can download a fresh copy after the exam day, it will be of no use. So, students should keep their KMAT admit card safe even after the exam. 

Q:   Is KMAT admit card different for MBA and MCA exams?
A: 

No, the KMAT admit card is the same for all courses. The course will be mentioned on the KMAT admit card for which the candidate is taking the KMAT exam. The KMAT admit card will also have test details such as the exam date, shift timings and exam day instructions.

KMAT Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Earlier, only candidates with Karnataka domicile were eligible to take the KMAT exam. However, from 2018 onwards, this domicile criterion was removed. As per the new KMAT eligibility criteria, candidates from other states can also appear for the exam. The eligibility criteria mention the requirements for admissions such as educational qualification, minimum marks, and other details. Karnataka KMAT 2025 eligibility is based on the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. KMAT eligibility criteria is the same for all participating colleges, however, the colleges may mention additional requirements for final admissions.  

Academic Eligibility for MBA

  • Candidates should have completed their graduation in any discipline i.e. Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering / Technology from a recognised college/university.

  • For final admissions, candidates will be considered eligible based on their performance in the KMAT exam, academic record, and relevant subjects.

Qualifying marks

  • Candidates must have obtained a minimum 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA in the final year examination of their Bachelor's degree.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the minimum aggregate required is 45 per cent or equivalent CGPA.

KMAT 2025 Eligibility for MCA

  • Candidates seeking admission to MCA courses through KMAT 2025 exam must hold a bachelor's degree in any stream.
  • Candidates must have secured 50 per cent aggregate in the final year examination of their bachelor's degree.
  • Also, they must have studied Mathematics subject at their Class 12 level examinations.

Age Limit to Appear for KMAT 2025

KPPGCA has not mentioned any age limit for Karnataka KMAT. However, candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.

Ideally, candidates should dedicate at least six months to prepare for the KMAT exam. This time would help them grasp the concepts which are tested in the KMAT exam, build a solid foundation and still have enough time for revision.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of KMAT?

KMAT has a total of 120 questions. Each question carries one mark each for correct attempt and there is no negative markings. There is no deduction for unanswered questions. Therefore, the total marks of the KMAT exam are 120. Sectional marking scheme of the KMAT exam is as follows:

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehensions: 40 (40X1)
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 40 (40X1)
  • Logical Reasoning: 40 (40X1)

KMAT is a time-based exam, hence candidates are required to complete all three sections within the allotted time. Candidates must note that they must answer the questions carefully and if they do not know the answer to a particular question, it is wise to leave that question and move to the next one. 

Q:   What is the structure of KMAT question paper?
A: 

The KMAT structure has remained unchanged since the past few years. KMAT exam will have 120 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 120 minutes. There is no negative marking in the KMAT exam and no marks will be deducted for questions not attempted. There will be three sections in the KMAT question paper, i.e. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Each section of the KMAT question paper will have 40 multiple choice questions which will have four options each. One mark will be awarded to the candidates for each correct answer. The exam will be conducted in the remote-proctored mode. Before 2020, the exam was conducted in the paper-based test mode. But since the COVID-19 pandemic, the authorities changed the exam mode to internet-based test mode. 

Q:   Is there any negative marking in KMAT exam?
A: 

No, the KMAT Karnataka exam does not have any negative markings. The KMAT exam is conducted in the remote online proctored mode to offer equal opportunity to all the candidates coming from different backgrounds. There are 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) which are to be solved within 120 minutes or two hours. Each question has four options and the students will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. To bring total transparency, merit will be based on raw scores and not on percentile based scores.

Candidates seeking admission in MBA /MCA programmes offered through Karnataka KMAT 2025 have to follow an admission process that includes the following steps:

Step 1:KMAT 2025 Registration

The first step in the KMAT admission process is registration. Candidates can register for KMAT 2025 on the official website of KMAT India. They will be required to apply for Karnataka KMAT 2025 exam online on the official website by filling out the KMAT 2025 application form.

Step 2: Fill out the KMAT 2025 Application Form

KMAT application form 2025 is to be filled with basic details about candidates including their academic qualification, domicile, reservation category and nationality details besides uploading photographs and signatures. KMAT application will be completed only after the application fee is paid and it can be paid in online mode only using payment options such as Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, Wallets, etc.

Step 3: Download KMAT Admit Card 2025

Candidates will be issued the KMAT admit card for the exam after they have successfully submitted the application form. The admit card will be available for download in the month of September, in the online mode on the official website. Candidates will be able to download their KMAT 2025 admit card from the official website by entering their login credentials in the admit card window. 

Step 5: Appear for Karnataka KMAT 2025

Candidates need to appear for KMAT as per the scheduled exam date and timings. KMAT 2025 will likely be conducted in the month of September 2025. The exam will be conducted in the internet-based test mode.

Step 6: Check KMAT 2025 result

KMAT result 2025 will be declared online. KMAT 2025 result will mention the qualifying status of candidates, scores obtained in each section, overall scores, and their rank obtained in the exam. 

Note: Candidates must note that only clearing the exam does not guarantee admission to the colleges accepting KMAT scores. After the declaration of KMAT results, candidates who clear the cut-off will be called for the further selection process. The colleges accepting KMAT scores will release their own cut-off and merit list and the final selection will be based on this only.

Q:   Can the KMAT application fee be refunded?

The application fee for KMAT exam is non-refundable. Once the candidate has paid the KMAT application fee, authorities will not refund the fee under any circumstances. Even if the candidate fails to appear for the exam, then also, the application fee is non-refundable. 
Candidates should check the KMAT eligiblity criteria and other exam details regarding the application process before applying for the KMAT exam. Students should also check for a reservation policy for the application fee. 
Once they fill the KMAT application form, students should review the details entered before making the final submission. 

Q:   Can I fill out the Karnataka KMAT application form offline?
A: 

No, the KMAT application form will be available online only on the official website of KMAT India. There is no provision of applying for the KMAT exam offline. The application process for the KMAT Karnataka exam is conducted online only and students also need to pay the application fee using online payment methods such as a credit card, debit card or internet banking. 
Hence, there is no offline communication regarding the KMAT application process.KMAT Karnataka.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for KMAT Karnataka?
A: 
Any graduate with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate or equivalent CGPA from a recognised university is eligible to apply. However, if they belong to a reserved category (SC/ST) the minimum qualifying percentage is 45 per cent in aggregate or equivalent CGPAA: Candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply. There is no age limit mentioned by the exam conducting authority to appear for the exam. However, candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.

A: 

KMAT Karnataka exam will be held in the home-based remote proctored mode. Candidates can now take the exam from the safe environment of their homes. They do not have to choose the exam city and visit any KMAT exam centre in order to take the exams. They can fill the KMAT application form online and take the remote proctored online exam through the link given to the candidates on the exam day or as mentioned in their KMAT admit card. This year, the exam will likely be held in the month of November 2024.

The KMAT exam was earlier conducted in paper-based test mode. But due to the COVID-19 outbreak, in 2021 and 2022, the exam was conducted in internet-based test mode.

The KMAT Karnataka or KMAT exam is conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) for admission to the MBA and MCA courses in colleges in Karnataka. Even then, the exam will only be conducted in one shift on a single day. KMAT exam pattern has not changed much since past few years. KMAT exam was conducted in the internet-based test mode in the morning shift on September 7, 2025. The shift timings for both the courses, MBA and MCA will be the same.
