After covering the KLMAT MBA syllabus with CAT books, candidates must then practice KLMAT sample questions and mock tests to understand the exam pattern and get used to the questions asked. KLMAT is conducted in 3-4 phases. Candidates can choose the exam phase and apply accordingly. The KLMAT application process for every phase has different deadline. Applicants have to make sure they submit the form before the deadline to appear in the given exam session. Otherwise, will have to wait for the next session. The KLMAT sessions are conducted from December to May.
The syllabus of KLMAT includes English, GK, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Candidates planning to appear for KLMAT must study all the topics included in the syllabus of these subjects for MBA entrance exams. Those who have appeared for any other MBA entrance exam will be able to cover the syllabus in a very less time with basic revision only.

KLMAT result is released phase wise. It is shared with candidates through login. The scorecard is uploaded in student dashboard. The process to download is:

After the announcement of KLMAT result, the examination will prepare a shortlist of candidates for MBA admission and organize the second round of selection process. The KL University MBA admission process will include Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). For this, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their KLMAT score and academic record. There will be a minimum cut off for selection. Those who shall have score as much or more than the KLMAT cut off, will be selected for GD/PI. Final admission offer will be based on candidate’s performance in GD/PI.
Candidates preparing for CAT may not need to prepare for KLMAT Management separately, as the syllabus is the same and the test structure is also similar. However, one should make sure they practice KLMAT sample papers from a month before the exam as the question type and difficulty level will be different from CAT.

KLMAT exam is of 90 minutes. There is no sectional time limit and candidates can utilise exam duration as per their exam strategy. They can move between questions and sections within given time limit.
There are no subjective type questions in KLMAT. All questions are objective type and have four options to choose correct answer. Candidates can mark only one option as correct.
There will be an onscreen calculator that candidates can use to do calculations and rough work during the exam. The examination authority will also provide rough sheets to candidates to do manual calculations if they don't wish to use the on-screen calculator.

The preparation strategy for KLMAT MBA is given below.
- Be consistent: To prepare for KLMAT MBA, be consistent with the approach. Make a timetable and try to maintain a routine for your studies.
- Give attention to all the sections: There is no sectional time limit, so candidates must have enough practice in the timely completion of every section of the exam. Prepare well for all the sections, as the number of questions for any section may increase or decrease.
- Solve PYQs: The most important way of cracking any exam is to solve PYQs. Get question papers and solve them to know the pattern, repeated questions, question types, etc.
- Group study: Candidates can also opt for this form of preparation. It helps in solving reasoning, mental ability, quants questions. It is also beneficial in group discussions.
- Practice Mock Tests: MBA preparation strategy should include attempting a lot of mock test series. They will help you know where you stand and in which topics you need to put in more effort.
- Work on speed and accuracy: Speed and accuracy are very important in competitive exams like the MBA. KLMAT has 150 questions to be answered in 150 minutes. The paper has maximum questions from Reasoning. Many Quant questions are calculation-based, and there are long RC passages. Even though you don't have to attempt all the questions, 150 minutes will still feel less if your speed is not up to the mark.

The duration of the KLMAT MBA Entrance exam is 90 minutes. There will be 75 questions.
