Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) has mentioned KMAT eligibility criteria 2025 for admissions to MBA/PGDM and MCA courses. Candidates seeking admission to these postgraduate courses need to fulfil eligibility criteria for the KMAT 2025 exam such as qualifying degree, minimum marks, and other criteria. KMAT 2025 eligibility criteria is in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for professional postgraduate courses.

Age Limit There is no age limit for Karnataka KMAT. However, candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.

  • Candidates must have secured the minimum aggregate required by the examination authorities
Work Experience KMAT exam eligibility criteria does not include work experience. Both working and non working candidates are eligible to apply
Number of Attempts KMAT is conducted only once a year.

KMAT Eligibility Criteria for MBA/PGDM

  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree of three-year duration from any recognised college/institute.
  • They must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate. However, if they belong to SC/ST categories, then they should have obtained at least 45% aggregate of all subjects in the final year examination.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year examination of their bachelor's degree are also eligible.
  • Candidates who passed a Master’s degree examination in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering & Technology streams from any recognised institute/university are also eligible to apply for KMAT 2025.

KMAT 2025 Eligibility for MCA

  • Candidates seeking admission to MCA courses through KMAT 2025 exam must hold a bachelor degree in any stream.
  • They must have secured 50% aggregate in the final year examination of their bachelor degree.
  • Moreover, they must have studied Mathematics subject at their Class 12 level examinations.

KMAT Karnataka 2025 Domicile Criteria

Candidates belonging to any part of the country are eligible to apply for the KMAT exam. Candidates can apply for KMAT 2025 irrespective of their locality status/residential address. Earlier, KMAT eligibility as prescribed by KPPGCA, stated that only candidates residing in Karnataka can apply for the exam. KPPGCA has removed the domicile criteria now.

Q:   Do top IIMs accept KMAT score?
A:

No, IIM does not accept KMAT test scores for admission. If you want to get admission to the IIM, you will have to appear in the CAT exam. With the score of the KMAT test, you can get admission to various top colleges in the state of Karnataka. You can get admission to the following top management colleges: 

  • AIMS Institute
  • Acharya School
  • Alliance University
  • Indus Business Academy
  • Presidency College
Q:   How many test centres can I choose for KMAT?
A:

Candidates can choose only one KMAT test city according to their preference. Candidates must very carefully select the cities as once the KMAT application form is submitted, they can't change city preference. They should choose the first city of preference as their hometome or where they are residing as the exam authorities will likely allot the test centres to candidates in their first city of preference. Candidates should know that the KMAT test cities cannot be changed once the form is submitted even during the form correction window. 

Q:   Can I appear for KMAT more than once in a year?
A:

No, candidates cannot appear more than once for the KMAT exam. The KMAT exam is held only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The KMAT exam is being conducted in the IBT (internet-based test or online remote proctored) mode. Based on the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to various programs offered by KMAT participating colleges. The exam will only be conducted in the internet-based test mode for all the sessions. The difficulty level of the KMAT exam is usually easy and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Candidates who wish to appear for the KMAT exam need to apply on the official website of KMAT India and fill out the KMAT application form once the application window opens. KMAT is held in about 10 test cities in the state of Karantaka, but since the exam is being held in the remote proctored mode, candidates do not have to visit the exam centre to take the exam.

Q:   Is the KMAT exam mandatory for MBA?
A:

KMAT exam is important for the students who are targetting MBA collges in Karnataka. KMAT exam scores are accepted in about 170 MBA colleges and about 50 MCA colleges. The KMAT exam assesses the candidate's proficiency in key areas making it an important and valuable exam for the MBA aspirants. The exam evaluates candidates across key domains such as Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, and Logical Reasoning. 

Q:   Is there an age limit to apply for the KMAT exam?
A:

There is no age limit to appear for KMAT. The KMAT exam is open for fresh graduates as well as working professionals. Since KMAT is accepted by over 169 B-schools across India for their full-time MBA and MCA courses, a lot of students appear for the exam. KMAT score is accepted by some of the top MBA colleges in India. The minimum qualification for KMAT exam is graduation. Any candidate who has completed Graduation with 50 per cent aggregate (45 per cent for SC/ST candidates). Any candidate in final year of Bachelor's degree course can appear in KMAT exam

Q:   Can a foreign national apply for the KMAT exam?
A:

Yes, students from any region in the world can apply for the KMAT exam. Being a citizen of India to appear for the KMAT Karnataka exam is not mandatory. Candidates can apply for KMAT irrespective of their locality status/residential address. Earlier, KMAT eligibility as prescribed by KPPGCA, stated that only candidates residing in Karnataka can apply for the exam. KPPGCA has removed the domicile criteria now.
