United Doctors Front Petitions Supreme Court for NEET PG 2025 Single-Shift Exam

The NEET PG 2025 exam is scheduled for June 15, 2025. UDF’s move comes amid lingering concerns from NEET PG 2024, where the two-shift format led to allegations of unfairness and lack of transparency in evaluation.
The United Doctors Front (UDF) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India demanding that the NEET PG 2025 examination be conducted in a single shift to ensure fairness and transparency. The petition was filed on May 1, 2025.
To support its legal efforts, UDF has launched a fundraising campaign, urging donations through an official Union Bank of India account to cover the costs associated with the Supreme Court proceedings.
The NEET PG 2025 exam, a critical milestone for medical graduates seeking postgraduate specialization, is scheduled for June 15, 2025. UDF’s move comes amid lingering concerns from NEET PG 2024, where the two-shift format led to allegations of unfairness and lack of transparency in evaluation.
UDF's petition argues that the two-shift system conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) introduces disparities among candidates. Many aspirants from NEET PG 2024 criticized the normalization process used to adjust scores across shifts, claiming that the difficulty levels varied significantly and led to unfair results.
“The two-shift format has caused stress and inequality. A NEET PG Single Shift is essential for fairness,” UDF posted on its official X handle, @UDF_BHARAT, on May 1, 2025. The post included a QR code for donations to the Union Bank account (UPI ID: 70919001@ubin) and warned against contributing to any individual accounts to avoid fraud.
UDF’s official communication channels reinforce its credibility. Its CLIRNet page describes UDF as an organization dedicated to medical education and the welfare of doctors. However, given past incidents of fake fundraising scams in the medical community, aspirants are urged to verify donation details carefully, although UDF’s use of official accounts mitigates risks.
Candidates have long demanded a single-shift NEET PG examination. Aspirants have voiced concerns to regulatory authorities, urging the National Medical Commission (NMC) to mandate a uniform exam to avoid the issues experienced in 2024. Many have specifically appealed for NEET PG 2025 to be conducted in a single session on June 15.
The Supreme Court's decision on UDF’s petition could significantly reshape the NEET PG examination process. In 2024, the court had declined to reschedule NEET PG despite fairness concerns, citing logistical challenges given the participation of over 200,000 candidates. However, the growing pressure for reform and rising concerns about transparency could influence a shift in judicial perspective this year.
500 plus marks is considered a decent score in NEET PG exam. If a candidate score 535 marks that means his/her rank will be somewhere around 1000-2000. With that score, there is a chance to get admission in government college. Good score also depends on difficulty level of the question paper. If the question paper is difficult then cut off will be low. In 2023-24 session, general category cut off was 291 while the cut off for SC/ST was 257. Overall 500 plus marks will enable you to get admission in good college for PG course.
Yes. NEET PG is compulsory for those candidates who want to pursue postgraduate medical courses. Those who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off become eligible to participate in the counsleling for seat allotment. NEET PG or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation, is conducted for providing admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses in medical colleges across the country.
With #SingleShiftForNEETPG trending across social media, the medical community now awaits the Supreme Court’s response, hopeful that NEET PG 2025 will offer a fairer and more transparent process for all candidates.
