CTET English Syllabus 2025: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to determine the eligibility of candidates as Primary (Classes 1 to 5) or Elementary (Classes 6 to 8) teachers. The CTET 2025 exam is organised based on guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The exam is conducted every year at two levels- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for teachers in Classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 is for Classes 6 to 8. Candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to appear for both papers. The CTET exam is conducted in a total of 20 languages. The CTET syllabus 2025 is prescribed by the CBSE after taking into consideration the NCTE guidelines.
In both papers, the English language is a common subject for those candidates who choose English as Language I or Language II. CTET Exam Pattern 2025: Paper 1 & Paper 2
As per the prescribed CTET exam pattern 2025, Paper 1 and Paper 2 are two and a half hours in duration each. Both papers carry 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of one mark each. The CTET English syllabus 2025 is common for Paper 1 and Paper 2. How to Prepare for CTET English?: Tips and Strategy
- Analyse the exam pattern and level of questions from the previous year's papers.
- Revise the previous year's papers as much as possible.
- Before attempting the paper, plan it. Make a proper strategy before attempting the paper.
- Before starting the paper, read the guidelines carefully.
- Solve mock tests as much as possible.
- In the exam, start with the section that is your strongest and takes the least amount of time.
- Have faith in yourself.
- Practice and pay attention while solving the paper in the examination hall.
- Two unseen passages will be asked in the exam; one will be prose and the other will be from drama. Questions asked in the prose section can be literally, scientific, narrative, or discursive.
