RRB Group D Normalisation
RRBs have followed the percentile-based normalisation to calculate the scores of candidates. Percentile scores are based on the relative performance of all those who appear for the examination. The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each shift of examinees. Earlier, the board had said that the percentile score will be the normalised score for the examination (instead of the raw marks of the candidate) and will be used for the preparation of the merit lists.
However, as per the revised normalisation process, the percentile score of candidates has been converted by RRBs into normalised marks by using interpolation of the raw marks into the base shift. The purpose of this is to decide the minimum qualifying marks as well as giving weightage in marks to CCAA candidates.
