RRB Recruitment 2022: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) conduct RRB recruitment for various posts such as Non-Technical Popular Categories, Para-Medical Categories, Ministerial and Isolated Categories, Various Posts in Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix, various posts of Jr. Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and CMA, ALP and Technicians, etc. The Railways come up with a large number of vacancies to select candidates for these posts. RRB Recruitment 2022: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for RRB recruitment are different for different posts. RRB eligibility criteria highlight nationality, educational qualification, and age limit. For RRB Group D, candidates must have passed Class 10. The educational qualification required for RRB NTPC is Class 12 for undergraduate posts and graduation for graduate posts. For ALP post, candidates must have passed Class 10 while it is Diploma in Engineering/BSc for JE post.

Railway Recruitment Application Form 2022

RRB application form needs to be filled and submitted online only. The application fee which can be paid both online and offline is INR 500 for all candidates except fee concession categories while it is INR 250 for PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Minority Communities, Economically Backward Class. The application form comprises the following steps:

  • Registering for the exam
  • Verification of email ID and mobile number through OTP
  • Filling out the application form
  • Payment and Bank Account Details
  • Scribe for PwBD candidates
  • Entering detailed educational qualification
  • Choose the exam language
  • Fill in the details of the photo identity card
  • Entering bank account details for the refund
  • Uploading photograph and signature
  • Uploading SC/ST certificate
  • Submitting the application form

RRB Recruitment Vacancies 2022

The number of vacancies is released category-wise for various railway zones. The vacancies announced by RRBs are provisional and may be increased or decreased depending on the actual need of Indian Railways. Also, the examination authority reserves the right to cancel RRB vacancies at any stage of recruitment. On completion of all stages of the recruitment process, RRBs are allotted to the candidates based on merit, medical standard, and vacancy position.

Q: Why RRB recruitment is conducted?

A: RRB recruitment is conducted for selection of candidates for the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories, Para Medical Categories, Ministerial and Isolated Categories, Various Posts in level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix, various posts of Jr. Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and CMA, ALP and Technicians, etc.

A: Candidates who are interested to apply for the various railways exams are required to submit their application forms online. 

Q: Can Class 12 pass apply for RRB recruitment?

A: Yes, candidates who have passed Class 12 can apply for RRB NTPC (undergraduate posts) and RRB ALP. 

Q: What is the qualification for various railway jobs?

A: The educational qualification required for RRB Group D is Class 10 pass. For RRB NTPC, the academic qualification required for the undergraduate posts is Class 12 pass while it is graduation for the graduate posts. A: The salary of RRB NTPC Train Clerk is Rs 19,900. Candidates are also entitled to various allowances, perks and benefits.

Q: Which is the job in Indian Railways?

A: Jobs in Indian Railways are always in demand due to the high job security, good pay scale and many more. Posts in Indian Railway across all departments are classified into two categories such as gazetted posts and non-gazetted posts. The gazetted posts include Group A and Group B and non-gazetted posts include Group C and Group D. The highest level posts in railways is recruitment to Group A which is done by UPSC through Civil Services, Engineering Services Exam and Combined Medical Services Exam. The posts under Group B are generally filled by the General Manager by promotion of Group C employees. The highest salary posts in Group C are Station Master, Commercial Apprentice, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, etc. All these posts are under Non-Technical Popular Categories(NTPC) and recruitment process is carried out by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). The recruitment to the various posts under Group D is done by the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC).     

Q: What is the salary of RRB Group D?

A: The salary of RRB Group D as per 7th CPC pay matrix is INR 18,000. Candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), house rent allowance and transport allowance, etc.

Q: Is there any laid down format for uploading caste certificates, etc for applying to RRB exams?

A: Yes there is a format for uploading vision test certificate, caste certificate, disability certificate, etc. The format is mentioned at the bottom of the RRB notification.

Q: What is the examination fee for the various RRB recruitment exams?

A: The application fees are Rs 500 for all candidates, except the fee concession categories. Out of this fee of INR 500, an amount of INR 400 is refunded duly after deducting bank charges, on appearing in first stage CBT. The application fees are Rs 250 for PwBD/Female/Transgender/Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/Economically Backward Class. This fee of INR 250 is refunded duly after deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in the first stage CBT. The application can be paid both online and offline.
