SSC CGL Tier 1 exam 2025 will be conducted from August 13 to 30 as a Computer-Based Exam(CBE). The candidates will not be allowed to carry any electronic gadget that includes Bluetooth devices, Mobile and the like. Even they can't carry their bags inside the exam centre. Only water bottle and pen will be allowed.

The Staff Selection Commission is expected to conduct the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam 2025 from August 13 to 30, 2025. The candidates should note that the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam 2025 will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Exam(CBE). The candidates will be allowed entry to the examination centre only after the verification by the invigilator and they candidates will be required to show their SSC CGL 2025 admit card and photo identity card. SSC CGL 2025 Documents to Carry on Exam Day: The Staff Selection Commission will conduct the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 exam at the designated exam centres from August 13 to 30. The Commission releases an official notice to notify the do's and don't for the candidates who are appearing in the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam. The Commission released a list of exam day instructions from time to time for the candidates who are going to appear in the online examination. The SSC has already issued the SSC CGL 2025 exam dates to the candidates.

The candidates are required to follow all the instructions as notified by the Staff Selection Commission. The Commission will release the SSC CGL Admit Card on or after August 9. The first and foremost thing is that the candidates will be required to carry proof of their date of birth and a photo identity proof with the admit card to secure entry to the examination centre.

The candidates will be required to reach the CGL exam centre as per their reporting time mentioned on their hall ticket. The SSC CGL shift timing will be mentioned in the official admit card.

SSC CGL 2025 Shift Timing

The candidates should note that the Commission conduct the SSC CGL exam as per the shift timing notified by the Commission. The candidates can see below the SSC CGL shift timing:

Q:   When will SSC CGL mains exam 2025 be conducted?
A:

The Staff Selection Commission will conduct the SSC CGL 2025 main exam in the last week of January 2026. The Commission conducted the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 exam till October 14. The Commission conducted the SSC CGL main exam in online mode as a Computer-Based Exam(CBE) only.

The SSC CGL 2025 notification was released online on June 9, 2025.

Q:   Is the SSC CGL document verification is done by the Commission?
A:

No, the SSC CGL document verification is not done by the Commission. The document verification process is conducted by the respective department in which the candidates will be posted.

The Staff Selection Commission outsourced the SSC CGL document verification to the indented departments.  This was done to expedite the process of SSC CGL recruitment process.

Q:   Which documents will not be considered valid for the proof of date of birth for SSC CGL Exam?
A:

The Staff Selection Commission specifically mentions that the following two documents will not be considered as the proof of birth required with the SSC CGL admit card. These two documents are:

  • Affidavit in support of the date of birth of the candidate
  • Ration Card of the candidate

SSC CGL 2025 Important Documents to Carry

Check out some of the important documents that candidates must carry to the allotted test centre below:

  • SSC CGL admit card: SSC CGL  admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the test centre. Candidates not have their admit card on the day of the exam might not be allowed to give the paper.
  • Proof for the age of candidate
  • Proof of identity of the candidate
  • Pen and Water Bottle will be allowed at the SSC CGL exam centre
  • Photographs: Apart from the above, candidates must also carry at least two copies of their latest coloured photographs in 3x3.5 cm dimension.

List of Photo Identity Proofs Accepted for SSC CGL Exam

Along with the admit card, it is also mandatory for candidates to carry a valid and original photo ID proof to the test centre. Documents that can be carried as an ID proof are:

Aadhar Card/printout of e-Aadhar

Voter's ID Card

Driving License

Passport

PAN Card

ID Card issued by university/college/school

Service ID Card issued to employees by Central Government/State Government/PSUs

Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book issued by Ministry of Defense

Any other photo identity proof issued by Central/State Government

It may be noted that in case the ID proof carried by a candidate does not have date of birth, s/he must carry an additional original document having date of birth as printed on the admit card. In such cases, documents that can be carried by candidates are:

Class X Admit Card issued only by CBSE/ICSE/state boards with photographs

Class X Passing Certificate issued only by CBSE/ICSE/state boards with photographs

Class X Marksheet issued only by CBSE/ICSE/state boards with photographs

SSC CGL 2025: Dress Code

  • All candidates should wear light-coloured sober clothes
  • Candidates should wear open footwear like sandals and slippers instead of shoes
  • A simple shirt/t-shirt along with a pair of jeans/pants is recommended for all candidates

SSC CGL 2025: Important Exam Day Instructions

Some of the important points that candidates should keep in mind on the day of SSC CGL tier-I 2025 exam are:

  • In case, there is a mismatch in the date of birth mentioned on the admit card and that given on the photo ID proof, the candidate will not be allowed to give the paper
  • In case, a candidate fails to carry any of the aforementioned documents to the test centre, s/he might not be allowed to give the paper and his/her candidature could be cancelled.
  • Candidates are advised not to bring the prohibited items to the test centre. In case they bring any such item, it would be their responsibility to take care of their belongings. SSC will not be responsible for the safe custody of any such item.
  • Candidates should not indulge in any unfair means and should avoid talking to other candidates
  • Candidates should ensure that they meet the SSC CGL eligibility criteria as laid down by the commission. If at any stage it is found that a candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature will be cancelled.
  • Candidates should reach their allotted exam centre only as per the time mentioned on their admit card
  • Candidates should ensure that their biometric registration is completed before they enter the exam hall. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the test centre once their biometric registration is complete.
  • Candidates should strictly follow the instructions given to candidates by centre supervisor, invigilator, etc.
  • Candidates should ensure that they provide their left thumb impression, certification statement in running handwriting and signature on SSC’s copy of admit card
  • No candidate will be allowed to leave the exam hall before the paper ends. If a candidate leaves the exam hall without the permission of the invigilator, s/he will not be allowed to re-enter the exam hall.
  • Candidates are advised to visit the exam centre at least one day in advance so that they reach the centre on time on the day of the paper
