A:

Choosing the right stream for students who are in class 11 is a crucial decision. This will set the foundation for them to make further decisions related to their academic goals and professional careers.

One of the first things to focus on while choosing the right stream is to calculate the student's passion and interest. Make sure you select subjects that are of interest and determine your level of commitment, interest and motivation. For those who love problem-solving and numbers, there is a high chance that they will be more interested in Mathematics, Science stream or computer science. On the other side, those who are interested in understanding human behaviours, social dynamics, history and creativity should go for the Humanities or Arts Stream.

Some of the main factors that can help you make informed decisions are listed below:

  • Know the subjects you like, dislike, would want to continue studying, want to stop studying.
  • Take a career test with the help of a counsellor
  • Learn about new subjects to gauge your interests
  • Think about your ling-term career goals and then take a decision

A:

In case you fail in one subject in the 10th ICSE board exam, you can appear for improvement exam for that particular subject. The only subject you have to compulsorily pass in ICSE 10th is English. If you fail in only one subject (other than English), you will get your pass certificate. Let us take an example. You pass in all subjects, but fail in English. Now, you won’t get your pass certificate and have to appear for supplementary exam. But, let us consider you pass in English, but failed in HCG only. You will get your pass certificate but will also be given a chance to appear for the improvement exam and improve your scores.
